First of all does this happen when you start a new save? If yes and you can easily trigger the problem, start a new save, remove a small group of mods each time(start with the graphic mods, like remove 4-6 each time dont do it one by one) until its not happening anymore. Now if its not easily triggered and its not happening in a new save then thats a different level of difficulty to fix. After ofcourse making a backup and a clean install/or verify files on steam, start your save but since you cant replicate it easily, try to remove first the mods that dont stop you from playing or messing around with your career. I cant read logs but maybe this will help to find out which mod is causing this(well maybe its multiple mods). If you are on steam you can also revert to a previous version kerbal that might still work with the mods and doesnt have this problem.

Orbiting 101 Tutorial Issue
Serenity replied to eatpantboio's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
If you are on Steam go to Library->Right Click Kerbal->Properties->Local Files->Verify Integrity of Game Files. It will take a while and it will download any missing/corrupted files. Or else maybe a clean install?Make sure you backup the saves folder first. -
Too much autostrut summons the kraken?
Serenity replied to baldamundo's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Kerbal Joint Reinforcement mod is not really with autostruts and can cause some problems. Autostruts DONT count as physical parts and thats a VERY good thing for perfomance.(compared to normal autostruts). Heavy Autostruts are a huge problem.Whenever you dock or undock with heavier or lighter crafts the kraken is waiting in the corner. The trick is to use Grandparents and maybe one heavy or one root as an anchor to a very heavy part. You can ALT+F12 and find the Visualize autostruts to see how can you build a nice ''tree'' of grandparent autostruts. What i found from personal experience is that you can use one or two heavy autostruts and before you dock or undock or decouple switch it to grandparent. Careful though and make sure you quicksave and quickload to avoid any problems. Also if you switch to Heavy or Root while in flight it might ibreak your craft so becareful when you change autostruts in already launched crafts. Lastly robotic parts are tricky with autostruts and yes if you overdone it with autostruts it might cause the vessel to fell apart but it will not affect perfomance. -
What Cavscout said i just want to add that, the biggest culprit for ''weak'' computers is the RAM(4gb is candy for modded Kerbal), the number of mods and especially the number of graphic enchancements mods. The longer the game runs the more RAM it uses, so restarting often might help a bit. Also make sure you have Persistent debris close to zero, cause they might cause some problems in big numbers.

If you have many mods remove them in small groups, like remove 8 at the same time. You can quickly find which group/mod causes the problem that way. Well if the problem can be triggered easily and on command.I have no experience in reading logs, just wanted to add this small tip in finding the mod that causes the problem faster.

Autostruts not available?
Serenity replied to strider3's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Did you right click the part to select the grandparent? There isnt a ''button'', you right click most of the parts and you get the option. Sometimes we miss things, if its not that, then what bewing said . -
Resolution occasionally resets
Serenity replied to Delay's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Huhh you might have a user permission problem, its a long shot but maybe thats the issue. Try moving the Installation to a different disk, or uh right click run as administrator, or change the user control, i am sorry i never had to deal with that but i heard many problems from this, like Files that are read only, and you re not the administrator etc. This is probably outdated but i hope it can help find something. -
UHHHHH WHAT THE...HAHAHAAA.....you are crazy man . It might actually be Trajectories(Maybe Mechjeb or Waypoint Manager but uh probably not). I dont have much experience with KER, maybe someone else can help, i am guessing there should a way from its config file but i really dont know. Again what the...hahahah thats so many mods no wonder you want find the KER button or something , maybe it has a hotkey or something for the menu. I have no other ideas...i hope you find the exit to the maze!

Complete PC freeze
Serenity replied to Marachdrifter's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Well hmm, you might have removed the Nvidia Audio driver and actually solved the problem without knowing it, or it could be something else . Mine was about the same, sometimes i even got a blue screen, and it turned out to be the whole mess thats audio drivers in windows 10. -

Complete PC freeze
Serenity replied to Marachdrifter's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Sounds like a audio or graphic driver conflict.(Nvidia audio, windows audio and Realtek conflicting).I had this problem with audio drivers crashing my pc and making that weird noise and solved it by having only realtek. Or maybe a temperature problem(thermal paste etc).HWMonitor is one of the best free programs to monitor temps. -
Mod to remove a vessel in flight?
Serenity replied to jeancallisti's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Autostruts are a STOCK feature in the base game. You DONT need any mod to enable them. You just go to the options and enable Advanced Tweakables. There are many guides how to use them. After enabling them right click almost any part and try to use mostly Grandparent ones. Avoid the heavy ones. It can help any craft, especially stations. Lastly they dont count as a part like the normal struts which is a big thing when you build well big things. -

Maybe this will help? -
spacebar confusion during EVA
Serenity replied to dawfedora's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Huh, well thats a weird bug.You never know how Kraken attacks . As for the staging question(ladders, engines, decouplers etc) you can use a number in Action group to have it deploy, although without mods you can only change Actions groups while in editor. You can also right click some parts, like ports, decouplers to disable staging to avoid any spacebar accidents. -
I cant even get the shield to deploy with the fairing staying intact , how did you do that? . Maybe using a second fairing and shift move it somewhere, under maybe. But then again i have no idea how you even reached the part to let loose the heatshield and leave the fairing intact. I hope someone can help you more in this .

Video glitch renders game unplayable
Serenity replied to Sp4rk4s's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
I did some searching and most times seems like third a party program that causes some conflicts, like the ones that claim to boost graphics etc, maybe thats why geforce experience helps cause it overrides most of them. -
Trying to merge one craft onto another. Merge.
Serenity replied to THX1138's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just to add to this Click the Re root tool, then click a random part of the craft you want to merge, the ''ghost'' craft(dont click the capsule or the part you want to be root and have the attachment point) and then in the second click, click the capsule to make it Root and ''activate'' the snaping point. -
Mod to remove a vessel in flight?
Serenity replied to jeancallisti's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just to add more things you might have missed Advanced tweakables to turn on the stock magical autostruts in options and Alt+F12 to open the cheat menu with many options, not only cheats.
