  1. You could alternatively try to shape the asteroid into a more desirable shape to shift the CoM into your favor.
  2. How to feed a solid into a nuclear reactor? Try feeding coal into a ramjet. Basically the same only hotter than hell. On another note, the "mass driver" is basically like saying you can make a rocket go faster solely from the stage ejections, only with much weaker force. Plus, you would need PERFECTLY aligned drives in order to negate any chance of thrust misalignment, which would result in a spinning rock.
  3. Thats not true, as the fabric would wave and do all sorts of unintended things, and not only fabric but also things like corrugated metal were VERY draggy from material alone. A famous example of this: the Ford Trimotor.
  4. I use KerbalX, as shown in my signature. Its pretty straightforward in terms of UI.
  5. thank you for not sending yet another Xwing picture, and also NEVER forget to add enough intakes mate
  6. Use surface mounted version maybe? But as far as fixing modded versions I cant really help that greatly.
  7. Those are some kind of force overlay indicators most likely.
  8. MK3 tanks are a little huge for the relatively weaker LV-N engines. They are tricky to use, as demonstrated by my SPX series of spaceplanes, Available on KerbalX for some examples of what people are saying here, BE WARNED SOME OF THEM ARE EVIL. MK1 tanks with little nosecones would be best
  9. Can you send an image of the aircraft? I might be able to point out flaws. If not, its probably due to over stressing or maybe something odd happened, and If all else fails bail the pilot and enjoy the wonder that is paragliding.
  10. My solution: Always have hot engines. Or have little sepratrons for nice little heating and even a little bonus thrust.
  11. Sigh, Its not helpful when I can barely land something you guys post, and even worse when you admit to that.
  12. Stop posting X-Wing pictures, I have seen all the movies and have a star wars side too, but I DID NOT ask for lots of X-Wing pictures. X-Wing's S-Foils are NOT for any lift, as seen in some of the above images.
  13. So I was researching in my aviation books for design ideas from real aircraft/spacecraft, and I suddenly realized that none of the spaceplanes that Ive ever seen from real life were biplanes. Is there a reason behind this? I know that the first biplanes were extremely draggy from almost everything, but Im referring to a sort of more modern material biplane. Would that work at all in things like reentry?
  14. this challenge sounds like something I would do, as I don't really enjoy docking at all because of the time consuming slow maneuvers.
  15. I think he wants sort of like what minecraft is adding in 1.13, the shipwrecks. If not, then oh well we already told you how we would do that.
  16. Heres my very not math answer: streamline the heck out of the rocket and see how well it cuts thru the air, and if not it needs more streamlining MORE STREAMLINING!
  17. I need a capture craft, because I need it for capturing a MK1 capsule in orbit, and I wasted an hour trying to use my own design. IF anybody can help me, I would LOVE THAT!
  18. Tbh, I haven't personally seen this type of mission before, I only get normal tourist requests, which I fulfill in a special rocket, the "Tourist Cannon".
  19. Tbh, I learned most of what i know about KSP from messing with it and also from the in game tutorials. those can be helpful. also, apply real world principles such as the thrust-lift-drag-weight of planes and aerodynamics (meaning make it as streamlined as possible so that it goes thru atmosphere nicely).
  20. What if you made a ground centrifuge that didnt take off at all, but used the reaction wheels and solar panels to spin fast, but its on wheels so it won't go flying away.
  21. Tbh, Im considering turning to kraken drives for better boosters.the engines are too fuel hungry, the tanks too heavy, and just don't help me.
