  1. Exactly, I am 63 years old, been doing this since the beginning of computer gaming. If you want to be on the cutting edge of gaming, you have to keep a pretty up to date PC. I am running a 3080, and I fully expect to need feel the need to replace it in another couple of years.
  2. Yeah. when I build I tend to use the ones they benchmark and rate games by.
  3. Yep, have had mine a while also... games be getting serious
  4. Yeah I never listen to folks who tell me how I am supposed to feel either.
  5. There have not been any "warning signs" that I am aware of. Early access, yes? Kerbal has a long history of early access. Slowly releasing features? Yes Kerbal has slowly released features though all its history If you don't want to be in Early Access, then don't, it really is that simple, and try as you might you wont spoil the fun many of us will have that do want to be in early access.
  6. Only in the negative, that they are not implementing Terraforming
  7. That will be open for Modders to emulate, KSP2 is designed with modders in mind
  8. I know this is blasphemy but, I am starting to think I will like the new Navball UI better than the old one
  9. I certainly understand feeling that way, but for me, this is a new game, a new concept of KSP, I am willing to give it a good long while and an open mind ( as much as I can )
  10. One sad thing about release of early access, it is the day I stop watching videos on KSP2. I don't want to know ahead of time what I might see or find, I want to work out my own solutions to problems. I suspect for a long time, perhaps a year or more other than looking at what some early mod efforts there are, I will likely avoid KSP 2 videos like the plague.
  11. Yes... I am actually expecting to be disappointed tomorrow with a game I have waited a long time for. But I do have higher hopes for KSP 2
  12. We have waited a long time for this, I know a lot of folks have a lot of fears over what they have done, but I am still very hopeful, Looking forward to early access. I am going to look at the first iteration on the 24th as a test of systems, try out the new components, the new VAB systems., get familiar with the new UI. Report back to the Devs on issues. I think we are in good hands, I remember the first videos about Nate, and was quite pleased with who was in charge, then particularly excited when they brought the Squad team over.
  13. The moment I can. Early access is a long tradition of KSP that built one of the greatest games ever made. I will enjoy being there for the entire ride. I will likely delete all saves the moment science progression is added, and that probably wont be the last time. But in the sandbox it will be interesting to try different approaches learning the new systems and UI along the way.
  14. I was answering a direct quoted response you had to me. I did not bring up the subject, I was correcting someone that was in error in what they were telling folks. The folks that have done papers on the subject and presented to the scientific journals have backed up their data, please show me the paper you presented for peer review on the subject. By the way, look at what I quoted, you are still arguing the incorrect point.
  15. Yes really it does, right now the Orion drive is the fastest way we have to reach multiple percentage of light speed, it can get quite a bit more than one percent, From the Wiki " An atomic (fission) Orion can achieve perhaps 9%–11% of the speed of light. "
  16. Well I suppose I am talking real world, but the Orion Drive is one way to get to an appreciable % of light speed compared to other ways we have now.
  17. Oh no, an Orion drive can do interstellar as well as anything else can. You have the advantage of non-cryogenic fuel. It has a lot of advantages for interstellar.
  18. Its funny, my favorite part of the roadmap ... is that partial block at the end that is not shown.
  19. Looking forward to seeing all of that and how it all ties in. I know a lot of folks see science and money in the career path as a grind, but I see it as the game itself. I am not from the "push button get cheese" generation, I don't believe in an "end game" . It is the slow advancement, the working to achieve incremental results that is the draw for me. Once the tree is fully fleshed out, and money is no longer much of a concern, that is when I start losing interest in the game.
  20. Life Support was never a part of the original Kerbal, but was in several mods, I believe KSP 2 is fully supporting modders, so ... we will have that soonish
  21. Dear Developers .. I hope that you consider in a future update ( would not be expected before science of course ) the addition of a Career Mode for Kerbal Space Program 2. This is by far my personal favorite way of playing Kerbal, the budget constraints and the consideration of the type of mission adds a depth to the game I personally enjoy. Thanks for at least considering it.
  22. Exactly right, if one thing is proven over so many decades of game development, is that the fans cannot handle any date that is not cast in stone. Better to say nothing at all until it is cast in stone.
  23. As others have said, Early Access is not for everyone, and no one is forced to do Early Access. You can still opt to wait for the full game to be released later. Some of us enjoy Early Access style of launch, others do not and that is ok. Personally I will be really enjoying a part of KSP 2 Early Access that I never did in KSP1, a sandbox game. I could, I just never did ( always played career which may not be available in KSP2 ). Hopefully the answer is that there is not a set schedule and the answer is when it is fully ready.
