  1. Is this still working for 1.1? The Community Plugin Library implied it was and I'm waiting for something to tide me over until VesselMover is updated and this would also be awesome for the Kerbal Aircraft Force section of my career!
  2. My Dad had a gaming laptop that was utterly choked with dust. Other than that... the energy required to run a modern 3D game is simply too high to be channelled away through the tiny air passages and heatsinks of a laptop, no matter how well designed. As far as I'm concerned a PC is necessary. The fact that I can't even run EVE on this perfectly okay PC kinda indicates I have a problem, though, as blackrack said. Also, we are derailing! I wish someone could solve my endless GPU cooling problem (it was a nightmare with my old reference 5770 too, that ran at 105 in most modern games hence why I wanted to replace it *facepalm*) but it's as easy as spending £300 on a new PC, which I'm not willing to do just to abandon the poor thing when I head to training.
  3. I think the problem is with airflow. There's almost no airflow movement through my case despite my having two fans extracting air out the rear (admittedly directed at a wall about 8inches away). The XFX model I have blows air over the card but then allows it to pass back into the case, probably causing a toroidal type movement where the heated air is recycled over and over. Basically, it's a really terrible design and I understand why I paid so little for it now. My PC is a long series of modifications on a very old chassis put together when I was living entirely off my parents, and it's reached its limit in all areas. I never expected casing cooling to be the killer issue, but that's a testament to the quality of mid-end tech through the years I've had this PC. Because of my goals in the next few months there's no point in buying a new setup. I certainly can't blame visual mods for maxing out my crap.
  4. Not tried yet because I understand EVE and Scatterer aren't playing in 1.1P right now! I kind of don't want to try now that you've said that... one rapid unplanned almost-disassembly of the plastic components of my GPU is enough for me... these days I find myself missing the AMD reference coolers with the ducted cooling to the outside of the case; it's no use blowing air over the cores and into the case if the case has less vents than an attack submarine.
  5. Is it normal for EVE sky to be pushing my 7790 core temp up to 100 degrees? I know I have a terrible cooling setup, but I'm surprised this mod can do that to a not-too-terrible GPU. Is it just too pretty for my old PC? All I know is, I never want to hear the grindy noise of a fan that's been at 100% RPM for too long again.
  6. It's Kerbal, it's clever, it's all-singing all-dancing. We'll allow it some... eccentricities. Thanks so much for the help today, finally getting some ground science done with my dubious aircraft.
  7. Are the surfaces in the new module supposed to ignore their set max deflection values? My elevator wants to do a massive 100% movement no matter what I set it to. In flight they act as intended but it lead to a very easy tailstrike in my long-tailed science plane. That said, in flight this is by far the best experience I've had with aircraft in KSP. So, so good.
  8. Looking good from here. Nice job. Edit: I'm really not expecting any more right now - it's your mod - but the game currently isn't remembering any assignments of tweakables on control surfaces. All reset to 100% authority and all control directions regardless of what I set them to. This time I can't confirm it's AA doing it but yours is the only mod I have that could sensibly affect it. I shall test (since that's all I've done all day) And edit again: I've just confirmed it's AA by removing it again and attempting to reproduce. Looks like it's now interfering with the code for control surfaces in an unfriendly way. Well... at least you've got lots to do!
  9. Yep, that seems to have got it. Thanks for the quick fix and good luck busting that bug... Edit: nevermind. I typed this while still in flight scene. Pressing 'revert to VAB' on my test craft (a command pod) threw another KeyNotFoundException: The given key was not present in the dictionary and a bunch of NREs and locked my scene. You've...shifted the bug. Sorry! Let me know if you need another output_log.
  10. I'm having a black-screen-on-physics-load issue that goes away when I delete AA from my GameData folder. Several tests with the mod off and with it on have confirmed AA is the issue. I can only make it manifest at the moment by reverting to launch with any ship on the launchpad, but the first time I noticed it, it happened when I first loaded a new ship. See here: @martinezfg11 is the only other person to have said he's experiencing this issue so far, and I notice he's another user of AA. I've asked for a GameData screenshot to compare our mods, because judging by other users' success with this mod it may be a mod conflict we both have. By the way, although I haven't really been able to use it yet, I love the look of this Autopilot and the effort you've clearly put in. I can't wait to get it working.
  11. I'm getting 404's from your pack on SpaceDock. What's going on? Sorry, CDN issues on the website. Nothing to do with the modder. My bad!
  12. I'm guessing the 64 bit warning is a hold-over from 1.0.5 and previous where 64-bit was buggered. I hope all modders will be happy to support the 64-bit KSP in the future!
  13. So I've finally found some free video software with no strings attached and KSP is finally in a state where I can record (poorly) and play at the same time, so I thought I'd baptise my old youtube channel with a quick video of what I've been working on in 1.1P. The Ryan C Mk.1 is a four-engine cargo aircraft capable of carrying 1.25m-ish payloads - up to about 15 tonnes of them - and deploying them via the rear cargo ramp. Unlike its Globemaster real-life counterpart, this guy does not do short landings or takeoffs or any particularly fast manoeuvring. In fact, flight dynamics wise it's basically a cargo A330 with awful low-speed characteristics. Such is vanilla. In the video configuration, it's kitted out with the retrofit for deploying three compact ISRU rovers I call 'Piglets' because of their goofy appearance, basically the smallest fully-equipped ISRU package I could produce, capable of making about 2 liquid fuel per day. At that rate, it'll take 75 days to fill its 150 LF capacity. So... not the best. When I've got KIS installed, I'm going to send out engineers on a STOL aircraft I designed today to tack chairs on and sit on them. I heard a levelled engineer increases your mining speed. Of course, I am dropping three of them, potentially in one location so it could be useful for fuelling up very, very tiny jets or drones. The idea of an air-parachute-deployed ISRU was planted in my head a while ago and practically burned a hole in my brain while I waited for 1.1, and I'm so happy with the result that I decided to share it here. I encountered a fair few developmental issues with the Piglet, namely the fact that the wheels just will not stop breaking in the cargo bay even though they're lashed down. I've even edited the Rovemax wheels to give them 200m/s crash tolerance. No joy. For a while I was using docking ports on the bottom of the Piglet (a Mk 1 version) but they kept getting hung up during deployment and exploding, hilariously spitting the various peripherals out the back of the cargo ramp after the two core pieces popped. So it's been a bit of an ordeal and it's not quite over, but it's been a fun ordeal. Last time I did any plane building, I was only just starting engineering school, but with a bit more experience I'm finding it easier and more rewarding to do this sort of thing. For anyone wondering about the naming... the Ryan is named after a pilot I met who was part of inspiring me to pursue that career path, and he flew a similar aircraft. I'm a sentimental git. Sorry if this post is a bit low-quality compared to a lot of the fanworks. It's sort of a test more than anything, to see if this video setup is any good. Thanks for reading if you got this far!
  14. Not satisfied with my silly little rover and easymode orbital launch, I decided to step it up a notch. With hours in FAR behind me, I set out to build my first ever stock Mk3 cargo delivery ship, and something to use it for. I was inspired by a reddit post a while back about drop-off refuelling stations. I thought, how small can you make it? And can it be air-delivered out the back of a C-17? Not in 1.0.5, but damn right it can now. I set out about three hours ago to the sound of My Chemical Romance and the Interstellar soundtrack (yes, I know, strange mix) and here's the result. I love it. (sorry for the image spam but the imgur gallery feature is endlessly directing to their 404 page) http://imgur.com/YhrZAuk http://imgur.com/z3aowt3 http://imgur.com/xFGodim Successful parachute deployment on only my fourth or fifth plane flight of 1.1. Volt's back behind the yoke and here to stay. This has big implications for my BDArmory setup when 1.1 is released. Edit: What the hell is wrong with imgur today? These links aren't working either. They're supposed to be embedded.
  15. I had so many ideas in my head last night for what to do in vanilla 1.1 PR (I'm a massive modding man. I find it hard to enjoy vanilla because I've done it a few times) I started off testing rovers, because I knew they'd had some problems yesterday. Working alright, only one bug report filed. One thing lead to another and... It's worth noting that this launcher has about 80 parts already and no noticeable slowdown on my 2.7GHz quad core. It used to get a bit choppy on my 3.4GHz dual. Heck yes!
  16. Whichever one of you is running @KerbalSpaceP twitter, well done. You finally hyped me. For just a second.
  17. Or, they're all in a Skype call and utterly entertained by what happens every time they do anything. Seriously, we're like reverse fainting goats in here. A dev shouts BAH and everyone screams HYYYYYYPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and goes all jumpy. It's great!
  18. Maybe it will come out tomorrow. My first night on squadron as an FS might be less exciting if 1.1 is sitting on my PC at home not being used! Ah well. Bedtime.
  19. Re-iterating this! It's pretty cool to see KSP at the top and we need to close this little cycle of hype energy up with something useful!
  20. If you want a hype soundtrack, listen to the full interstellar soundtrack or for those strapped for time, the 'Endurance Medley'. One of my workout sets.
  21. There's a storm blowing outside and my lights are flickering for longer and longer periods. Pray to Kraken with me folks.
  22. They know. THEY KNOW. Of course they know, this topic is constantly top of the top category in their forum. Damn it, Kasper! WHAT DOES SOON MEAN? (I'm not playing tonight; it's already almost 11. Damn it.)
  23. This is some aggressive bumping. Be careful not to derail the train with all that bumping... this train will not stop... it will plow through the town!
