  1. Stop. As for the topic, we would survive, even with very low intelligence. As others said, it would mainly depend on the location. Africa would be far easier than Europe and anything colder than that would be impossible. Even then, the population would drastically decrease to about 10 % of its current numbers. For people saying we are weak like: that's false. Humans are sufficiently strong and fast when trained properly and living in wilderness doesn't leave you with many other things to do.
  2. It's not really a typical fanboy war like DC versus Marvel (DC>Marvel ). They just try to justify the purchase and assure themselves that they bought the right console.
  3. Those two cents are of Zimbabwean Dollar, right? Anyway the answer to your question is: dogs. Humans are also becoming taller and the structure of our skulls is changing.
  4. Not really. There are historical records of humans beating bears to death with bare hands. Broken bone is always a death sentence in the wild. Plus if sloths can survive then so can we or anything else. ↑↑↑↑↑
  5. Q: Would it be possible to create a propulsion using magnets and Earth's natural magnetic field? E.g. using Halbach array with extremely strong magnets. (Or of course using magnetic monopoles if it were possible to make them.)
  6. Since the current KSP code is more or less being reworked completely, how can they work on porting it? Seems it'd be better to port it to U5 and then work on console ports. Isn't a Steam Machine just a PC with the Steam OS that can be switched for Windows/Mac OS anyway? How can it be cheaper?
  7. Why dense mass? Sure, they need to be far away to not be torn apart by tidal forces but otherwise the only thing needed to keep an orbit is velocity.
  8. I'm not exactly well-versed in this topic but I don't think that "time" slows down near an event horizon considerably. Afaik the effect of gravitational time dilatation is rather minuscule and gravitational forces get stronger still further beyond the event horizon. Space at the event horizon and beyond is just very compressed / gravitation too strong to let things escape, nothing more.
  9. It was confirmed. Added a quote to my previous post as a proof.
  10. Nothing new, this was public knowledge since they started working on the U5 upgrade.
  11. You would still need to keep a physical army because if you didn't, the obvious would happen. It would change nothing.
  12. There is a neat trick to suicide burns: Do a deorbit burn. Put a maneuver node where your trajectory intersects the planet's surface. Pull on the retrograde marker on the node until you have zero velocity there. Wait until the time to maneuver node is equal to the time expected to execute it. (+ some safety margin) Burn at full throttle and you should come to a stop just before you hit the surface. Burning the whole way down is very inefficient.
  13. Googling "jool plant flag" gives some results. It may be impossible now though, true. Didn't try it in a long time.
  14. That's a shame. I find docking enjoyable and it becomes really easy after a while. For me it's interplanetary maneuvers. I've returned from everywhere in stock 0.19 or so but now I let MJ prepare the maneuver nodes.
  15. Jool is the harderst to land on and return from but it's still possible. You can even plant a flag there.
  16. This thread and this response were the first things that came to my mind when all those threads started popping out. Also, vegetables.
  17. It isn't but if it bothers you then don't do it. I clip only for aesthetic reasons, not for functionality. Using FAR and clipping tanks is cheating imo.
  18. Orientation of the part is irrelevant if there is some other control part (afaik MJ part can be used to control a craft without using any cores).
  19. I never fly planes or land using MJ as it's not foolproof (it had some problems back in 0.23 or so and I haven't used those features since) but there should be an option to hold bearing/rotation in Smart ASS and if you set the rotation to 0 it should try to hold it like that. Does the problem persist for other planes? It isn't, it's unrealistic to not have it.
  20. About 150 years give or take. Return mission to and from everywhere about a dozen times, refueling station network to allow SSTO spaceplanes to go everywhere and back (with the exception of a few surfaces that were too much for an SSTO), various surface outposts (mostly on anomalies)...etc. I had that save for at least a year or two though.
  21. I've gotten to year 144 (I had one save from 0.21 to 0.23.5) in one campaign so reaching 234 is definitely possible but so rare that it doesn't matter at all.
  22. The -gee is used for Earth exclusively, -apsis is general. wiki source
  23. Next major update (the one bringing U5) will be x64.
  24. As others have said before those things graduate you from a noob to a regular kerbonaut. As for tips: Do not transfer into Solar/Kerbolar orbit first when going interplanetary but instead launch yourself directly from Kerbin's orbit. Tutorials are on the net and some mods are very helpful for this. Do some research on FAR even if you end up not using it. Give up on Eve (and probably Tylo although it's easier [for me]) for now and try to do a return mission to the rest of the bodies. This is not overly difficult although it might take some time. When you get bored (it might take months/years), try mods. Some are really excellent but I recommend waiting some time and playing stock (except possibly FAR).
