Basically, it was a counter-proposal to the Constellation/Ares program - some aspects of it evolved into the SLS which is being built, but they're visually distinctive. I thought they were pretty rad, so I borrowed from it when making shuttle-derived parts.

Is there a way you could break up this pack a little? Like offer a pack with just the shuttle or just the Jupiter system? I'd like to use the pack but I know I'd never use some of the parts and need all the RAM space I can get.

How about jsut deleting the parts you dont' need by yourself. It is easy and quick

Or he could just reduce the textures. Many of the textures are 1024*1024 sized, and they can be reduced to 512*512 with close to no loss in quality.

Hmm, then you need to make sure you installed in the proper place. The "TiberDyneShuttle" folder from the downloaded zip file should go directly in the "GameData" folder inside your KSP install, and not within any other subfolders such as "mods" or whatever.

I cant figure this out... When I'm in vacuum and i use the rcs engines for the shuttle it wants to push down every time, tried everything to fix that. Help!?

I've had this bug too. It's only with the Jupiter-launched shuttles, the Blizzard-launched ones use a different OMS, so they don't have the problem.

Actually, I CAN fly the Jupiter, but I can't use ASAS while doing it, which makes it quite tedious and not very precise.

Sometimes I'll quicksave and quickload, and parts will "snap" off the shuttle's cargo bay. Only the mod-provided docking adapters and decouplers suffer from this, non- Tiberdyne parts don't detach.

This happens sometimes after main tank separation, and after reloading from a quicksave.

Any idea what's causing this?

WOOOOHOOOO! I found out how to fly this with FAR!

Launch: Ascend like you normally would with FAR.

Reentry: Make sure that your shuttle has NO cargo and less than 500 units of MonoProp during reentry. You can use the fuel valve from Space Shuttle Engines / Smart Parts by dtobi for emptying the monoprop tank.

Landing: Use B9 or Firespitter airbrakes to slow yourself down until landing. Aim for a landing at ~100 m/s.

Ooops, seems I was a bit too fast on writing the above. Anyway, the Blizzard-launched Odyssey will work if done the same way as above, but the Jupiter-launched Odyssey will not, as it's too back-heavy due to the main engines. It simply wants to fly engines first. The only fix would be to change the CoM of the cargo bay and move it further forwards, or increase mass in front and decrease mass in the back. That would make it flyable with FAR. It could also use a node resize - most nodes are size 1, while they should be size 2 or 3 to work properly with FAR.

No update really. I don't have the desire or time to tackle learning to model an Internal, and it would take a long time for the results to be something desirable anyway.

The Kerbin Mini-Shuttle is amazing, and it makes me happy to see such a comprehensively functional shuttle package available in KSP. It also reminds of the shortcomings in this mod. Sometimes it makes me want to redo things to compete. Other times it makes me want to retire knowing there is something better out there.

I really don't know yet. I do plan to make updates as needed for 0.24, I want it to stay compatible as possible, even if I don't get motivated for an overhaul of the shuttle.

As always, if you're a modeler or an IVA specialist looking for something to do, I'm always open to collaboration. Hit me up with a PM.

I would use the KSO but the cargo bay is far to small to be practical (for me) so i got rid of it. I love this mod so please do keep going with it :)

When you say your open to collaboration, do you mean just this mod or other mods as well?

Well, I have found a picture of a shuttle that might be interesting to work on. The pic shows that the whole rocket is actually a shuttle that flies itself home. The boosters have deployable wings, and the main launcher has fixed wings. I think it would make a good addition to this mod. It's just some concept rendition, but still, it's a shuttle.

I'll work on some things and see if I can't come up with a good few models.

Though, I don't think I'll be able to do the wings without flaw...

And my texturing skills are nil.

Edit: Hmmm. That top part is kind of weird. I think the main launcher will have to be 5 meters, to get the right look. The top part with the rcs, I was thinking 1.25 for the top, and 3.75 for the part that sizes out to meet the main body, but now I'm thinking 2.5 to 5m... Some input would be nice.

Edit 2: I can't get the bottom to conform like a shuttle's bottom... How did you do it for your shuttle Tiberion?

i hate to admit this but that picture looks like it was taken from in KSP then re drawn on paper...
