  1. Hi! I found this website while searching for some nice space music and i thought i should share it with you. It contains very nice HD paintings, showing scenes of our solar system and you will also have the opportunity to listen to some very excellent music tracks, fitting the mood of the images shown. Very nice page. Enjoy http://www.experiencetheplanets.com
  2. And they seem to not have progressed far enough through the tech-tree to use a lab module and clean the escaped experiment... And besides the funny coincidence its an ugly tragedy...
  3. I really like the custom categories you can create, especially for subassemblies. I can now create mission concentrated subassembly groups and sort my launchers, transfer stages and so on. And i dont youse part heavy mods. I only use procedural fairings, RasterPropMonitors and SCANsat, so there is no need for a sorting there. The options to sort by size and so on are also great. Good and useful improvement in my opinion.
  4. A nice bi-elliptic transfer can be very efficient... it must not always be a Hohmann transfer.
  5. If the thrust is too massive, even the most advanced launch pad will blow up. You can counter this by starting at 50% thrust or lower, throttling up and hitting staging for the launch clamps immediatly after reaching max throttle.
  6. I recently experienced some crashes in the VAB and SPH, but overall KSP runs pretty stable. Overall the development of KSP, how features are added, the continous backward compatibilty and the game performance in unoptimized state is pretty impressive. There is currently a multi-million dollar space game in development, that impresses with crappy, buggy and almost unplayable tech demos every week... Thats the way how it is not done. Strangely, people are throwing money into that project like there is no tomorrow, while others complain about a working and fun beta KSP game, that only costs a few bucks and has already payed off with years of entertainment. Sometimes i just dont get it.
  7. I go with: Kerbal Engineer Redux RasterPropMonitors Procedural Fairings SCANsat and thats it. Mods i also like, but which are not currently installed are Telemachus VesselViewer NavUtilites Environmental Visual Enhancement
  8. Yesterday, i tried to dock the massive heat shield to my grand tour vessel... the material seemed to be a little "stressed"... leaving the 500k vessel (plus some millions to bring the pieces into orbit) crippled in space... not a single module survived undamaged as the trusses whipped back and forth, ripping all those parts off my glorious ship... Joeald Kerman was thrown into a 200 km eccentric orbit in his orbital construction vessel unable to de-orbit on his own, so i had to send a rescue mission. I thought about reverting the flight, but the design flaws seemed to be so massive, that i decided to let it float as it is – as a monument of my greatest fail... BUT! we will recover from the financial crisis, we shall redesign, relaunch and go for it again! To infin... äh yes, excuse me please. Too bad, i wasnt fast enough hitting the screenshot key a bit faster... the explosion was awesome
  9. I am currently working in a rover for my grand tour mission. I think, i am almost there.
  10. Today i built the first prototype of my grand tour rover. Still a bit wobbely but i think i am close to the final version already. Here you see Ludry Kerman enjoying a little ride on the KSC.
  11. Very good video. I really like the two different view angles and focus on both the landing launch stage and the ascending capsule. And i love the precise touchdown.
  12. I have just finished my smallest Tylo lander yet. 6.9k of delta V and a TWR on Tylo between 1.00 - 2.36 (landing stage) and up to 7.09 on the ascend stage. Works like a charm. But i think i can probably get it even smaller... we will see. Complete lander and ascend stage. The ascend stage and Jeb Kerman. The landing legs need to be placed a bit better though.
  13. Well... better aerodynamics will not make many sense without proper fairings. I am really looking forward to finally get some stock fairings.
  14. I have just successfully tested my new Grand Tour Lander. It is the smallest Tylo landing / return solution i have developed so far. The bottom stage delivers 3.3k of delta Velocity and TWR on Tylo between 1.00 and 2.36. The upper stage packs even more punch and comes with 3.6k of delta Velocity and a TWR on Tylo between 2.00 and 7.09. While the bottom stage will be left back on Tylo, the upper stage will serve as landing vehicle for Bop, Val and Pol as well. The upper stage weighs only 4.6 tons fully fueled and features two jr. docking ports to dock on additional science equipment and a rover for the non-Tylo missions. Some minor tweaking here and there and i will make the craft available for download. And Jebediah Kerman on EVA after a little landing test. The landing legs will need a bit more clearance for sure...
  15. Looks too much fun, to be taken out of the game... i now want too wobble my ship too!!!!
  16. Yes, for some tasks they are better than the gizmos. Usually i use the keys for basic setup of the craft and the Gizmos for tweaking and streamlining. And as Gizmos are stock KSP gameplay, they are by no means cheats. Now its a decision if you like to restrain yourself, by allowing yourself to only click parts together or use full gameplay mechanics.
  17. ...when you want to change the camera angle or try to zoom in a KSP screenshot...
  18. Thank you! In my signature, you´ll find the link to my Grand Tour to Jool. You will find detailed Pictures and descriptions in the album there.
  19. I always wanted to build a craft like the pegasus from the BBC series "Journey to the Planets"... and i did
  20. Welcome to the forums and congratulations on your great achievement. Cheers & be seein´you around! Frank
  21. Welcome to the forums SignalCorps! Spaceplanes are tricky, at best start with rockets to gain some experience. A plane needs some weight up front, so try to transfer some fuel to front tank, before re-entry. To get your plane in the air, try giving it a slight angle upwards by either adjusting the landing gear height or by rotating the wings. When using a delta wing design, it helps to have some control surfaces up front. I hope this helps! Enjoy your stay
  22. - Build efficient and elegant... Low part count, compact, good looking, useful - Never willingly sacrifice a kerbals life. If one gets stranded, getting em home is priority one - Launch with realistic looking rockets. If the payload is too massive to get it up that way... rebuild it. - Try to surprise yourself with the next design.
  23. I love the combination of the Mk. 1-3 Pod and the new adapter tanks! Very nice craft. I found, pulling the shielded docking port a bit into the capsule gives you a much more pleasing look. It is awesome how elegant and cleaned up KSP craft can look now with the new translation tools. No more z-fighting of to narrow attached parts and so... simply awesome.
