  1. This is especially for those of you who like skimming through technical information, you can find out a lot of pretty interesting stuff this way. I found a few declassified Apollo transcripts and data sets among other stuff. You can post links to what you find here!
  2. Just putting this here if any of you want to try it out. Just as of today it's in early access. It's only on MacOS and Windows so I haven't had a chance to play it but the review are pretty good and it's on sale. Currently it's extremely basic (as you may expect) but I think later on this could prove to be some much needed competition for KSP. https://store.steampowered.com/app/870200/SimpleRockets_2/
  3. With planet packs with several stars, it looks pretty weird when you have distant stars shining just as brightly as Kerbol is. Are there any mods out there that can correct this?
  4. I have mixed feelings about some of the new models.
  5. stderr is giving me this now exception_ptr not yet implemented Native stacktrace: /home/user/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Kerbal Space Program/KSP_Data/Mono/x86_64/libmono.so(+0x92406) [0x7f71efe91406] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpthread.so.0(+0x110bf) [0x7f71fc8f90bf] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(gsignal+0xcf) [0x7f71fbad6fff] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(abort+0x169) [0x7f71fbad8429] /usr/local/lib/libc++.so.1(_ZNSt13exception_ptrD1Ev+0x33) [0x7f7140d79347] GameData/Principia/Linux64/principia.so(_ZNSt3__17promiseIN9principia4base6StatusEED2Ev+0x35) [0x7f71419b15e5] GameData/Principia/Linux64/principia.so(_ZN9principia4base10ThreadPoolINS0_6StatusEE21DequeueCallAndExecuteEv+0x173) [0x7f71419b1043] GameData/Principia/Linux64/principia.so(_ZNSt3__114__thread_proxyINS_5tupleIJNS_10unique_ptrINS_15__thread_structENS_14default_deleteIS3_EEEENS_6__bindIMN9principia4base10ThreadPoolINS9_6StatusEEEFvvEJPSC_EEEEEEEEPvSI_+0x3c) [0x7f71419b138c] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpthread.so.0(+0x7493) [0x7f71fc8ef493] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(clone+0x3e) [0x7f71fbb8cace] I refuse to debug myself! 6. For me, Principia crashes when trying to load a save. I know the problem is Principia, however looking through the logs I couldn't find anything that seemed related to this. What I did find, however was that an stderr.log was being created every time it crashes. I'm on Debian Linux. I think this might mean I'm missing a C Library or something like that. Any thoughts? The output of stderr.log is as follows: /home/user/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Kerbal Space Program/KSP.x86_64: symbol lookup error: GameData/Principia/Linux64/principia.so: undefined symbol: _ZNSt3__119__shared_mutex_baseC1Ev
  7. I wouldn't worry about it. Chances are OP is <18 and is just immature. I know people who've done the same thing and it pretty much always results in the support team blacklisting their email.
  8. Whoever was controlling the laser pointer must have really hated that guy
  9. Just lost my main 2014 KSP save due to a few sectors on my USB getting corrupted I have some old backups of it somewhere else I'm pretty sure but ugh
  10. I think Take Two/Private Division owns all the rights to KSP now, so he'd possibly get in trouble if he did this.
  11. If you don't care about how you get it up there, you can use HyperEdit to teleport pieces (or the entire thing) into orbit from the VAB.
  12. I've seen that before too. It might be a graphics card or graphics setting problem, but it would help if you posted KSP.log (like said above)
  13. Pics? I can't say for sure what it is, but I often experience this too when my craft's center of mass is off.
  14. or, you know, that information being sold to advertisers and other third parties (as stated in the EULA)
  15. After a few mistakes while modifying my computer's hard drive, I ended up losing most of my old KSP installations. Thankfully I was able to recover nearly all of my old saves and old crafts, however I lost most of my old installs. I found a 0.23.5 one that I had backed up on an external hard drive, but I'd really like to have a KSP 0.23 installation to play around with again. If I need to, I can prove that I own the game and all of that.
  16. I know I'm late on the reply, but IIRC this red shell drama has existed for quite a bit longer than that. It started around the time 1.4/MH got released i believe.
  17. Nothing much here, I just made a simple script in Python to sort stray persistence files into saves. I ran into this issue after my hard drive got badly damaged and I needed to use software to get back my individual persistence files (as file recovery methods can only recover some files but not directories). After doing that, I had no clue what persistent file was for what. Whether this describes you or you have stray persistent files for some other reason, this script sort them back into fully functional saves faster than you'd be able to do it manually. Download: https://mega.nz/#!oAhFVKrY!cjgKs3bIcN05lZgW10qPAUQfLg06ifioMsDdMPT0acc To use this script, just download it, and double click on it to run it. Make sure you also have Python 3 installed. If you run into errors, try running the script from the command prompt to diagnose it. Let me know if you run into any problems with the script itself and I'll fix it. Note that this does not sort out scenario/training persistent files. Any that are found will be turned into career saves. Also, the directory that this script works in must ONLY have persistent files in it. The presence of folders and other files may cause issues. For unknown reasons, this bot seems unable to process a very small percentage (~1%) of saves that I run through it. If this happens to you, you may need to put those specific ones into save folders manually. DISCLAIMER: While this bot worked while I was testing and using it, I cannot guarantee that it'll work as expected for everyone. As such, it is never a bad idea to create backups of your files beforehand. You'll be fine as long as you do this, and I'm not responsible for any lost files that result from using this script. 18. slightly unrelated but I just designed KSP's 1.5 update banner for anyone interested
  19. That was probably just a pure coincidence
