How is the ion engine working? Do we get an extra fuel module and a minimum number of solar panels per engine? I would love an engine that takes really long to accelerate (thrust ~ 1) but makes you need less weight for fuel.
+1

What\'s the diameter of these rockets? If they\'re 1.5m, like Falican, then the Soyuz fairing should fit pretty well.
nope. current Angara pieces are 1 meter diameter.
-
I have not modelled fairings or any upper stages yet so IDK sorry.
but based off the size of the first stages I am sure they will fit.
-
lol what fairings?
-
Angara 1. custom decoupler and all the stuff needed for the lower stage now.
This baby could have gone to the moon. doubt it would inject but yah know...
-
went ahead and made a half size one.
-
-
looks amazingly better with all shrouded engines and something atop it to launch
-
Angara URM-1 booster tank first flight comes in Shrouded engine mount and exposed engine flavors.
-
It\'s possible to get Mir in orbit after all!
looks good. hopefully it will be much easier after weight balance.
-
all three of you are derailing the thread.
-
Just going for the larger stages (i.e. used in the two-stage versions) might be a good idea, considering you\'re planning to use it just for heavy lift anyway.
I want to try and make it as modular as possible. so before I even think about upper stages I want to give the lower booster a full compliment of different sized tanks and such.
however I do need to get back and finish Salyut and ISS modules lol.
but currently getting tired of the failcan9 as the launch vehicle. i9t is nice rocket. but so many engines and need for struts for each piece because of it\'s weight is making it difficult to fly.
-
I dunno what you\'re talking about, the failcan and durgun models are great!
(back to kosmos now)

What upper stages are you planning for Angara? Will we see stuff like the Briz, or just the larger ones?
but compared to the RD-191 it pales in comparison.
if you all want to give some input. i have a question.
The real Angara has three stages. the URM-1 boosters. the same secound stage from the soyuz. and the thirdstage of mthe proton.
however heavy models of the angara have a new i forget the name of it but a booster simular to the falcon9 secound stage in shape.
should i just skip the soyuz secound stage engine and tank (whcih is tiny) and use fiction upper stage and make it strickyly 2 stage rocket? three seems odd.
as for briz I might make an orbital adjustment motor. it is basically a small engine with rcs thatperfect orbits as I recall.

ah yes. they were fuel hogs. one day i will update that pack. only reason I don\'t currently is because the mod needs about a full redo. every model would be 10 times better and all of it more detailed. only think i would not redo is the engine models lol.Looks very good. I love your next-gen rockets. Falican pack was amazing, the Durgun is a very good multipurpose spacecraft and the 1m engines could lift just about anything, provided you packed enough fuel.
I hope to make angara carrier rocket better and not have the mistakes the CBBPSPC parts had.
I also hope to make a Durgun like craft for this mod. it would not be a pretty as durgun but yeah
-
back to kosmos new, compliments, kosmos complains, kosmos troubleshooting, and serious kosmos suggestion ONLY posting.
Angara URM-1 booster core tank is mostly modelled. and does not touch when 6 x symetry a few more things needed but it should be a nice rocket system.
-
not exactly animations yet.
Glad people like my ideas hopefully KOSMOS mod which these where made for will be released soon enough lol.
-
on a side note. The rd-191\'s first flight. it is so beautiful.
-
there is a slight problem with the engine control algorithms for the mod as well currently. but once the slslight bug is fixed by coder awesome epic engines will be ready :D
-
they can be reotated with 0 and 9 keys.I notice that your solar panels swivel about. Are you controlling that or do they face the sun automatically?
-
I build the module on top the rocket as i want. then i move it down to the proper node.
-
no. they are isntantly deployed. they do not work based on parachutes. S:|
-
I\'ve been trying to launch the Mir station, but it sags under it\'s own weight, and is off balance in such a way that I can\'t find a rocket configuration that can even out the balance issues.
How did you manage to get this in to orbit?
solar panels have no animations yet.
as for launching rockets.
note the strut connectors and how they are attached. it makes for a very stable rocket. However they are not in the current pack. they will be in the next release.
