  1. Nah, "velocity is good"
  2. Anything beyond a hunter/gatherer lifestyle could be argued as a luxury that is not necessary for survival, if you really want to be obtuse. You don't need to develop a game to live. The point is that KSP2 has had a troubled launch that has been exacerbated by the general decay/anti-consumer practices of the gaming industry. People are stating that they are sick of feeling ripped off. The fact that we could live our lives without the game is zero consolation. Edit: This is the entertainment industry. We are not entertained.
  3. So I was browsing the reviews and one person suggested that maybe release a DLC for KSP1 with the KSP2 sounds/music. I mean charge like 5 bucks, people would probably buy it, and the sound/music is definitely a strong point of KSP2. The devs must be hurting for some cashflow, and the goodwill would go a long way to show that even though they are not sure what decision you want to make re: wobbly rockets, etc, this would be a sign of goodwill that they are hearing that they are seriously not delivering on KSP2 as-is, and here is something to tide us over until we they some progress they are proud to show us. I know I'd be down to pitch 5 bucks for some solid sound design. What do you guys think?
  4. So this is interesting. It seems that @Rudolf Meier is the ONLY one to have implemented some sort of fix for the wobbly rockets out of any of us (including the Devs), and we are all gonna not listen to what their experience was? For what its worth, I enjoyed reading your insight into the limitations of the rigid body system in Unity. You went further in depth than the Devs did, Rudolph. Thanks!
  5. You don't get it, if we kitbash them all together, it will somehow be the most efficient rocket EVER! Jokes aside, if I had actual solid ideas of how to save Dv or whatever, I'd be calling NASA, not telling some message board.
  6. Also: We have not chosen a path to fix this issue yet. I know the strategy is to "not say something that might later be held against us," but this is getting ridiculous. If you guys don't have the appetite to make wrong decisions in a timely fashion and iterate with experience, as opposed to correct decisions some time in the distant future, I'm sorry, but this won't turn out well. You can't be "risk-off" when you botch a launch so badly. Also, admitting fault goes a long way, especially with reviews and player numbers as they are (shut up, I didn't post the actual numbers). That is aimed at whoever makes the decisions, not the devs. Just to be clear.
  7. *cough* I was the one who said "light that candle" I did mean it as in I thought some people were eager to see the launch and were not considering it is a test.
  8. Haha, I don't blame MikeG for leaving the conversation. The delay is annoying, yes, and bureaucracy!! But its not like its SLS timeframes, lol. Keep your pants on people, hahaha! Edit: This is test flight. I think people are forgetting that. I think people just wanna "light this candle!"
  9. It seems likely that Bezos thinks that good managers are good managers, no matter what project you give them. Let's see how it plays out. I have my popcorn and lawnchair ready.
  10. Seriously? The fact steam has a refund policy in no way makes up for anything about this game. I don't think we are getting anywhere. I wanna go watch a video and not think about this game.
  11. And when I have a question about my milk, the supermarket can answer it, they don't give me some lame excuse like "oh, tempers are high that we gave you expired milk, lets talk about it later" I'm done here. Mark me down, one for the "where the comms at?"
  12. I get what you mean, but that does not apply in a business relationship. This isn't some weekend hobby, this is a multimillion dollar game.
  13. I'm out for honesty, as I think the OP is too. Going radio silent is the online equivalent of avoiding eye contact in a conversation...
  14. You don't get that they have said basically nothing...like isn't that why this thread was created? And you seem to be purposefully missing my point. I don't feel like they are talking to us like Devs, I feel like I'm being sold something. "Oh, I promise it will have X feature soon!"
  15. I think we need to face facts...nobody there knows how to communicate properly. Its not that they are making a choice not to, they literally have no idea what honest, up front status updates are. You guys seem too afraid of calling something and missing it, you won't say anything. The solution is easy: be honest. No hype. I promise you the complaints will drop once we feel like we are being talked to, not sold on some snake oil.
  16. No, I mean all free services are going to implode this way shortly. EA this...yeah, the CEO is suspect, but its all a part of a bigger credit crunch.
  17. Something tells me Unity was backed by people relying on low interest rates, and their growth stage is over.
  18. Edit: Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like that. The author hypothesized that there was a lifeform that fed off of the sun...but it was, as I recall, not intelligent or anything, more of a solar algae? I might be remembering it wrong. I didn't mean to take this thread so seriously. I'm sorry.
  19. I get it. But should our extrapolations not be based in what we know to be true? I get that alien life might not be as we know it, but for any of this to be useful whatsoever, we need to stop assuming anything is possible, because we know its not. There very well could be a life that feeds off of gamma rays, however, if you look at what gamma rays do, there is no mathematical model to sustain life by destroying bonds. Like do you guys get that radiation breaks bonds? and bonds are required for complex cellular organisms? Nobody here has hypothesized how this life would be, because you do not know...I get that. What I don't get is how you shoot me down because I cannot prove a negative. Give me some proof there could be life and I will listen.
  20. Sure, but my point is that life does not seem to be abundant at places where nuclear reactions are happening...in fact it kinda sterilizes life.
  21. Are you replying to me or muddying the waters?
  22. I'm just a lay-person when it comes to astrophysics/biology, but it seems to me that life as we know it requires a "boring" part of the galaxy with relatively little astrodynamics going on.
  23. I think it should be brought up that during the development of KSP1 there was a tangible sense of momentum. KSP2 feels like its spinning its wheels.
  24. As you, yourself explained above, proper studios and publishers are using EA. They can afford proper beta testing themselves, but they know that they can suck in gamers and charge them money to do it for them. I get that you and a bunch of other people think that top tier studios should be asking us to test their games, but not everyone does. I'll agree to disagree, cuz this is going in circles it seems.
