So I gotta ask, for these shots do you have sort of guidelines like if the sun is at x degrees above horizon, exposure should be y for "regular" brightness, or is it more a learned, intuitive thing?
-
I gotta say, there is something very addict-like about this process...maybe its the whole "shareholder-profit-above-all-else" mentality, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out they could make more shareholder profit by not constantly screwing the pooch. I half-expect AAA studios to come out and say "ok, jokes over, it was all a social experiment to see just how much unfinished garbage you guys are happily willing to toss your money at while sending us death threats out the other side of your mouth"
-
I think its a long exposure. The boats are moved by the water whereas the piers are stationary as viewed from the camera. Another clue is that the sun disappeared, but the overall brightness is the same across the pics.

Is KSP2 still coming on PS4?
Meecrob replied to Jurassic kerbal's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Lets ask CDProjekt how that $1 Billion stock devaluation went for them after trying to squeeze their game onto a console that objectively can't run it so customers wouldn't have to upgrade. "This is true. But most KSP console players are on these old tech so..." A quick survey of console players on this board says they hate the fact that they got a half-baked version of the game. Seems better to make a proper console version for next-gen, than pull a CP2077 and possibly entrench the idea that console players are second class to PC players. -
No its not. RAM is cheaper than its ever been. I'm looking at kijiji in my area and name brand 2 x 8GB goes for $40 Canadian.

No, no they wouldn't. Besides, what would you even put in loot boxes in KSP? A "legendary" Mainsail?

So what are the bets that they knew they would have this header tank issue and SN13 is the new design?

[snip] This forum is a cool place precisely because people who are knowledgeable about topics are willing to explain them rather than drop a wiki link.

Please Consider Including Solar Sails in KSP 2! :)
Meecrob replied to Multivac's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I get what you are saying but lets be honest: its cool to see a skyscraper shoot flames out its butt and go to space. Not so cool watching a giant blanket accelerate at 0.001m/s for 80 hours straight. I'm guessing they will spend most of their dev time on the "skyscrapers shooting flames" part. Or to put it another way, they are almost guaranteed people will use rocket parts, whereas only us nerds will use solar sails for like a realism playthrough or an IRL mission re-creation.- 13 replies

Nah, c'mon guys, a sim is when you do something for fun when most of the world would only do it if they got paid at the end of two weeks.

A Proposal for The First Crewed Interstellar Spacecraft

I find it delightful that our resident Sci-Fi guy just read a proposal for an interstellar craft and said "that's a bit far-fetched" -

I agree. I know some of us want some sweet screenshots or notes on new features/parts, but I very much enjoy these "Here are the areas we know are crap in KSP1" type notes because those are the difficult things to fix and its great to see them getting attention.

Would this make sense? Hiding systems in progression?

Voice Actor for KSP 2 Tutorials
Meecrob replied to QvestionAnswerNeeded's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
What I am saying is that in the confines of the scenario that Private Division wants to hire a Youtube personality, not a VA actor, they will have to enter into a business relationship. If you were PD, would you want someone you hired to be "The Voice" for KSP2 turn around and make a video about Simple Rockets 2 for their Youtube channel? I'm not saying one way or the other, that's why I specifically stated "another thing to consider..." Seriously though, you guys have never heard of non-compete clauses? Edit: Kerbals speak Spanish backwards, I don't know why this is even a question to be honest.- 25 replies

Voice Actor for KSP 2 Tutorials
Meecrob replied to QvestionAnswerNeeded's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Another thing to consider is the relationship Private Division would have to open with a possible Youtube VA. Let's use Matt Lowne as an example, again. He sometimes mentions in his KSP videos that he also plays Planet Coaster and invites us viewers to watch those videos as well. If Matt were to be hired to do the VO's in KSP2, it opens the possibility of a Private Division Employee advertising a game that a different studio developed. Of course, contracts can be drawn up to get around this and other more "legalese" issues, but I see the long term impact being that Matt would have to limit what he posts on his Youtube channel in the same sense someone like Elon Musk doesn't drive around in a Ford.- 25 replies

This sounds like an awesome idea for a 2001-themed mod, but for the main game I'd say no because that sounds like an awesome idea for a 2001-themed mod.

I don't mean to be a party pooper, but isn't the point of easter eggs that they are a surprise? You can't request them!

Heh, it also cost ~$200 million and took eight years to develop. So really, the project to create the shuttle software was on the same scale as GTA5. Having said that, I would gladly pay $500-1000 for a copy of KSP2 to give them enough return on investment to go GTA5-scale, knowing I would get thousands of hours out of it, but I doubt 80-90% of their target audience would feel the same as me.
