  1. Players shouldn't have to edit a config file to get a reasonable setting. I agree, I can be offensive.
  2. I know. It's like when I start my car and have to unlock the gas pedal from 50% every time. It's no big deal. It's about logic. If they can't deal with such a simple problem, how can we expect them to get the tech tree right?
  3. Keeping the trivial from ever become a problem is a sign of competence. Taking the minimal amount of time needed to fix the little things can have a big impact on the whole, and personally, makes me much more likely to believe you can accomplish the more difficult.
  4. A few things that wouldn't take much effort? Change the default throttle to 0...or 100. Not a single number in between. Add an option for non-confetti fairings. According to the mod maker, at least, it didn't take much effort.
  5. I've only ever blown up the launch pad when it couldn't handle one of my rockets. I then proceeded to turn on indestructible buildings.
  6. The first thing I do in a new save is design a fleet of 3-5 rockets. They get used for pretty much all my launches. My naming conventions are nearly always based around Greek myth.
  7. ...or we could just teach players the controls. Honestly, do you really think the players guiding the development should be the ones who don't know how the throttle works?
  8. Please, for the love of all things good and righteous, anything but 50%.
  9. I get where you're coming from. Any modification to the game rules could be seen as cheating. Though, one is still allowed to think those game rules are bad, and modify them to their liking. House rules have been a thing in my tabletop gaming since I was a kid.
  10. I rebel against your opinion and download all the mods.
  11. After watching the Space X landing, I'd definitely be down for more landing legs. As @Pthigrivi said, I'd love for PorkJet to make an art pass on the legs and wheels both.
  12. I don't know, but I'd love to be able to change it's fuel and thrust output.
  13. Perception is reality, my friend. Anyone I've talked to who only has a vague knowledge of KSP knows it as "the game where you try to get a rocket to the moon, but it's really, really hard." As far as the cartoonish nature. Kerbals are the only thing consistently cartoonish in KSP. The art style is all over the place, from batman batteries and oil drums, to SR-71-inspired plane parts, and sleek modern rockets tanks.
  14. Apparently, it's to hard to reproduce. It's been around for ever.
  15. My Kerbal's are much more intelligent than humans, scientifically and ethically. That doesn't discount them from also being child-like and, maybe, a bit to oblivious to danger.
  16. I don't know. Any space nut knows what a fairing sep looks like. To then buy a game that is hailed as one of the most realistic space flight sims, and then have fairings explode into potato chips... It might seem small, but could leave a big impression. When you heard fairings were coming to stock, did you ever imagine they would separate like that? Did anyone ever imagine they would separate like that? No. It was a shock. Some people accepted it, some people didn't. That it was a surprise says all there is to say.
  17. ...but that's a heck of a lot to do. A game can not have limitless content, and it's OK to finish them.
  18. Sandbox with my own self imposed periodic budget. I like having the freedom to create my own missions, while still having the restrictions of a budget. The tech tree is to silly for my liking, and mystery goo is not science.
  19. I like funds. It fits with the other generic terms such as science, ore, and liquid fuel.
  20. You have to stop supporting old hardware at some point.
  21. It's come up before, and I agree again. Tying wheel torque to the throttle control is a great idea.
