I just want to play KSP man. I am sure there are ways to make every mod ever made to run smoothly but come on some people just want to play. You want me to create a dual boot system and run it on a linux 64 bit system just to play ksp? Im sorry and I am not trying to sound contemptuous but saying it works for me just isn't productive. Because I am assuming that yes there are alot of players who gaming computers and modified pcs to mod ksp unrecognizably. But there is larger portion of average players who want mods like this for fun but cant use it in tis full glory because it memory prohibitive.
-
No I know and I don't intend to be so contentious. I agree that Konquest should come first however it seems that everyone forgetting the question and keeps bring up Konquest. It should be yes or no correct? I think Alex knows by now we want Konquest.
-
Once again everyone! The question is not Konquest or this. The question is would you want lander parts.

It's pretty unanimous that something needs to be done. Everyone is well aware that mod makers do not get paid and share their mods out of the kindness of their hearts. A lot of time and effort has been spent to create this mod. That being said it is unanimous that something needs to be done about the size of these wonderful parts. I can only speak for myself but I have a Mac. I have been playing ksp for 3 years and on these forums for nearly two. Each subsequent release has reduced the breathing room in my gamedata folder everytime. Having a Mac my computer automatically runs OpenGL but the gains are immediately lost but the Mac memory leaks that squad has failed to address in each subsequent release. There are also people who standard pcs and laptops who love mods like this and just can't use them because they game freezes, fps drops, and game crashes. That's with the textures looking like crap and anti aliasing turned off and aggressive ATM making the game look grainy. To me there is an aesthetic I won't sacrifice and that might be to my own fault but I don't see the point of making beautful parts look like crap and the game look like crap just to use parts. That all being said a switch to DDS textures has proven very effective in trimming down fat mods and making them playable again. I needed to be very selective about the mods I put into my gamedata folder now that FASA has DDS textures I can start putting more mods in my gamedata folder. I think people who say "it works fine for me" are being unproductive. Especially if they neglect to mention theyight have a Frankenstein gaming computer or just simply a computer that isn't a stock PC. So again I am fully aware that you guys could pull support tomorrow and just enjoy it all yourselves. So if you choose not to make a change then I will totally understand. Once again good luck.

Thats excellent news! Consideration is all that I ask for. Good luck and thank you for all your work.

You never know maybe someone can pass along your fixes to dragon and he can use them as a launch point for his fixes. You never know maybe your fixes are better. Just fyi you sir are a steely eyed missile man.......if your fixes work.

Agreed a switch to DDS textures would make this mod essential. There is almost no need for any other part pack with this. Station parts, boosters, engines, of course shuttle parts, cars, helicopter parts, lights, docking ports. I mean this mod covers all the bases and does so beautifully and functionally. So a ram reduction could make this mod essential for a lot of players, and I know a lot of players don't download this (myself unfortunately included) because of how big it is, my computer just can't handle it. Believe me I have tried. So part of the update it seems that a texture switch would be vitally important.

Is there a Shuttle ET and SRB mod 1.0.2 compatible?
sp1989 replied to JoseEduardo's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
yea the shuttle parts. Its a parts pack, I cant imagine the engines and srbs not working. -
It would be incredible to see these parts updates. It seems like there is alot of infrastructure already in game to make an ok shuttle Fuselage, Cargo bays, etc. So wings, engines, some cargobay stuff, docking port, and engine rebalance. Because of all the in game parts you could make your life easier by using what squad has made and then fixing, tweaking, and making some new parts for the shuttles. The engines, tanks, and boosters would be incredible to have. I love the soviet and american style boosters you made that have a stockalike flare. Edit: I must write my obligatory, I am not a modder statement. I am strictly a consumer and I am just offering a possible solution knowing full well that its not easy. I am just a fan who would like to see these parts back.

Is there a Shuttle ET and SRB mod 1.0.2 compatible?
sp1989 replied to JoseEduardo's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I doubt the shuttle parts work however there are parts in this pack specifically for a Jupiter Launcher. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/4116 -
Im just gonna put this here.
-
I agree and Im not disagreeing that Konquest shouldn't have priority. Again he asked if we would be interested. So I think we agree that its a yes.
-
I agree but its not just fuel tank. We are talking about and Ascent Stage and a Decent stage. You are talking about not only fuel tanks but engines, possibly science packages, landing legs, antennas. A storage place for the rover. So yes I see your point about fuel tanks being fuel tanks, however this is Alexustas. Its not just gonna be fuel tanks. It will fit into the infrastructure he has created seamlessly. Imagine a Konquest style lander. That makes me excited. So I would love to see Konquest finished and finally play with it. However if something like this is on the table I would love to see that too. So although we agree I doubt that it will just be a fuel tank. - - - Updated - - - I don't disagree with you. But he didn't say this or Konquest. He simply asked if we would be interested in lander parts for the ALCOR capsule. So if thats the case then it should be an unequivocal yes.

How Close are YOU to Your Next Reputation Rank?
sp1989 replied to michaelsteele3's topic in Kerbal Network
I think I am 50 away -
Yes but these are Alexustas parts. There are mods and then there are Alexustas parts so I wouldn't dismiss the potential of lander parts so nonchalantly when it comes to Alexustas.
-
I would love to see what you could do with that. Absolutely yes please make the components for an ALCOR lander. That would be an amazing thing to behold. I think instead of making the landing legs from Konquest work for this making proper ALCOR landing legs is the way to go. I think an ALCOR lander would intergrate and mesh beautifully with konquest. You could make ALCOR lander components for planets. For example a Duna Ascent Vehicle would be necessary for a Konquest colony. So if you make Duna lander that would be amazing. Finally of course a standard Mun Lander would be great too. I think the potential for ALCOR lander parts is enormous.

Frizznaks solution to the fairing issue was interesting. It looks like he took the stock procedural fairings and added them to his fairing bases along with his textures. It works really nice and it looks good too. It still separates potato chip style however it seems that is a really good solution for the time being. Its better than nothing.

[1.2.2] Stock Part Revamp, Update 1.9.6. Released Source Files!
sp1989 replied to Ven's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Could you put a door or hatch on the crew bubble? I really like it however you can't use the stock crew transfer because there isn't a hatch on it. -
I am aware its gonna take some time to fix this project officially. However has anyone on here developed some way to get it working in the meantime? Module Manager configs, redesigns etc.? Just curious I am sure there will a large amount of very appreciative people who would love any fixes for this as a stop gap between now and the official release.
-
i wouldn't worry. Do you have the most recent version of KSP? If you don't then most likely you wont be experiencing the issues. If you have the most recent version, everyones launch profile is different. Everyone has different styles. Maybe your launch profile isn't as aggressive as others.
-
Youre not gonna hear from dragon. Look back on the last page Kartiffuechen posted on his behalf. It's just gonna take a little time.
-
Well you can do two things. Make a memorial description when those missions come and complete the missions as intended. It would be a nice tribute while being respectful. Or probably an easier option would to be skip over them and address it tastefully in the download description.
