Does that mean the bulge will be 1.5m? Or the core will be 1.5? (pls be the second one)

I personally would greatly appreciate seeing more obscure old stuff get done; old space is far more fascinating to me than new space. New space stuff is all too clean and boring to me. Are you saying you'd basically do your own take on the Tantares LV, and then add more parts for additional stages? (the real question... what diameter of the stages...?)
-
Yeah, I know. The Rhea was pretty directly inspired by it + the HTV. Come to think of it, I wonder if you can adapt the AARDV modules for use with the Transtage, make a Rhea Block 2 or something. Or even just Tweakscale them. Though a nearly flat 1.875m > 2.5m adapter would be hella useful. For those that haven't seen it and don't know what we're talking about, this is the Apollo-derived logistics vehicle that serviced Freedom in the 90s/late 80s, presumably continuing into the 2000s (but the focus of the timeline moves away from Freedom).

@hraban that looks awesome! Reminds me of the color scheme of the old TLV, which I've sorely missed!

@Constan7ine thanks for the heads up! I don't officially support any IVAs (and I don't make any myself), so any IVAs in the mod were scavenged from elsewhere and bashed to fit. I don't think the Big G pod every got any sort of IVA. @Daelkyr (yes I'm throwing you under the bus) would the FASA Big G IVA work? Does it even have one? The Gemini lander doesn't have any sort of IVA and I doubt there are any that fit.

The last two stages are already in the mod. The first two are modeled and just need a few hours to throw together a UV and texture.

I accidentally switched gears again.Y'all should start learning to take what you can get from my now, I'm a rebel with no release roadmap cause. Kānaloa! Note that it still has the Apollo decoupler in these shots. It will be replaces with a same height/size control block without a decoupler. You also get AARDV Tug once that control block is in, since it's just sticking an Apollo docking port directly on top of it in place of the cargo module. I guess the block 2 version has a CADS port instead?

Noodling a rough model in Maya is the fast part. Talk to me again once I start UV unwrapping. I worked on it some more earlier today, started getting the ATM modeled... finding orthographic reference for that thing is a pain, as it turns out. I'll be bouncing between that and the Apollo stuff and probably some other things. I don't have a set plan/schedule for what will be in the next release, other than a big balance pass on the new stuff once everything for 1.2 is updated and we can get some more serious playtesting done; I don't think they're (over)performing the same as the other LVs.
-
@theend3r probably hasn't been updated yet. Everything but the telescope was made stock in 1.1. I assume the telescope will be updated eventually.

Looking beautiful! -
@PickledTripod in any case, I'm starting to suspect that our efforts to nerf the Sarnus series were a bit too effective. Every part in that series has it's fuel amounts liberally rounded down, the weights liberally rounded up, etc. I think that once the dust settles a bit with everything, there will be another big cleanup pass on those parts, both the art (there are some details that I wanted to put in that got forgotten in the push to get it released) and the balance.
