I'll use that quote on the pub and many will understand, but then I do have sad friends, -

It comes down to a very dark part of a coders, dev, project leads heart. This sucks, but it would take to much to fix, so we have to allow it to ship. If you're been there you know it, if you haven't be sure that you will. -
What music do you listen to while playing KSP?
Curveball Anders replied to Scenter102's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Ok, I'm Swedish. But please don't mention the poodleband. The ones that is heading for venus and had have so many light years to go ... This is the KSP forums, you all understand how that is bad sceince ... -

Because practical and obvious isn't the same. And more due to the fact that Squad (or actually Harvester) decided to use an existing game engine to deliver something useful in 6 months. That choice will always come back at bite their behinds, but without that choice there wouldn't been any KSP. I could have written a better core than Harvester did. But it would have taken me 10+ years and my employer wouldn't have paid me to do it. KSP like all other good software is a mish-mash of good intentions, brilliance and random chance. -

You mentioned the scary word your self. Please define a mathematically flat surface ... I'm an engineer, if it looks flat enough it's flat, but for a mathematician ... (My sons are sysdevs, they have told me that coding is math, but I'm in denial). -
Spinning spacecraft during re-entry to slowdown
Curveball Anders replied to Pawelk198604's topic in KSP1 Discussion
While I'm old and hate change I have to admit that my annoyance have failed. My hit orbit, match target, save the sad gits (as in brave Kerbals) and land back on Kerbin design, optimised for 1.0.5 has worked annoyingly well in 1.1.0 -
Frankly, I don't even *want* a v.1.2
Curveball Anders replied to p1t1o's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
None of the options. I loved my 1.0.5, and so far I love my 1.1 I think that Squad will deliver (after my expected panic patches) a fun 1.2 or whatever. I've had fun with KSP for 2 years, I expect to have fun with KSP for many years longer. Some of the games that are still on my disk are 10, 20 and even 30 years old, KSP will stay in that group. -
Birds, and bird droppings, can be metabolised to combustional carbohydrates (by microorganisms). So yes, dead birds, and their droppings, can be used as rocket fuel, in a green way
-
The definition of animal life can be stretched. As a middleaged person with vegetarian and vegan offspring the concept of microbial life involved in stuff like cheese and beer can lead to heated discussions ...

I don't play Kerbal Flight Sim, I play proper flight sims when I want to fly planes. But I still don't feel that KSP lacks any rocket parts. -
That's normally called cheese, esp greek cheese.

Some hours with a 1.0.5 save, MechJeb installed, win10-x64, not a single crash nor issue (despite looking for them).

While I try to hide that side of my flawed personality I have to admit that I don't send any of fab-4 on those 'live on snacks for extended time' missions. The fab-4 gets the important (and short) missions, while J.Random Kerman might have to spend some years on snacks ... And for personal reasons I always keep Bill safe.

What's your preferred method of playing KSP?
Curveball Anders replied to ZooNamedGames's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Indeed. It saved me from an acute mental breakdown when I tried to get my old X-36 Hotas to work with KSP/Unity. (Which I later has abandoned, but it worked.)- 51 replies

The Grand KSP 1.1 Discussion Thread
Curveball Anders replied to KasperVld's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Despite my continued grumpyness and expectation of an emergency patch soon I have to state that the upgrade went without any issues and all ongoing missions from 1.0.5 loads and appears to work. Proper Job Squad! I'll now revert to being grumpy and whiny over too many changes too fast -
They're Kerbals, they live on snacks. And all kerbal carrying modules are stacked with lots of snacks.
-
Ponder using basic math, common sense and map view. If that fails, ask j.random 10-12 yo. If you still fail, try mech-jeb.

I'll wait for next tuesday, unless there's a new release during the next weekend.

Sometimes there's a good thing when she's a 'significant other' and my economy is my own. Oops. I'll check in again next week after doing my time in the garden ... -

I'll stick to my stubborn grumpy ol' git persona and not even check my store page until past noon tomorrow. -

That's not very metal, it's more like mainstream pop (says the 50+ yo Sabbath head ) Armia Duch, Poland's gift to the world. -
Kerbal Space Program 1.1 Hype Train Thread.
Curveball Anders replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Using comic sans is almost a "throw off the train" crime. Bugger, I expected another week. Just launched a progress to resupply a station, which will be history if 1.1 is released.
