  1. There'll most likely be rather long run for the train this time. So some, like me, might start slow and save some hype for the final push to glory
  2. I play when I have the time and feel for it. Usually a couple of hours each week, plus a bit more reading, thinking and planning which can be done when away from my computer (like on the metro).
  3. Ex sysadmin, sysdev, sysarch and PL Now infosec analyst. (And major annoyance for admins, devs, archs and PLs ...)
  4. There's also spreadsheets, mathlab and project management software
  5. Doesn't everyone do that? Gosh, there are strange people in the world.
  6. Initially KAC, MJ, MM, Void, EVA Transfer and FPS limiter.
  7. The lack of backstory in a single player game is the foundation of writing your own. Or ignore it all together.
  8. Immersion. And I also have a semi-qualified guess that the amount of development time invested isn't staggering.
  9. While this is true, there's also a lot that can be gained by just handing out some new toys and then stand back and observe what strange and beautiful (and sometimes plain weird) stories, contraptions, plans and generic madness the users (and modders) will create (and share with each other). The beauty of an open story is that it's, well, open
  10. While agree with you I've come to understand that there are (strange) kspers that actually care about how stuff looks. They are of course wrong but I'm so smug about my own superiority that I've decided to let them have their game too
  11. I think at least 3 more weeks, and then release on the following tuesday (all sane companies, this time including Squad, release on tuesdays), so my money is on 5/4. But I'm never right
  12. Careful! Too much hype too early might cause a premature accident ...
  13. I mainly use one (career) savegame. But sometimes I get some brilliant (at least in my mind, and right then) idea of a new project or storyline and start a new save for just that. Currently I have one main and two "special projects" career saves, plus a simulation (and FUI) sandbox save.
  14. Bah! Youngling! I was working as sales-tech when those came around. Try 8080 or the venerable (and space related) RCA 1802 COSMAC
  15. This is quite the way I've done it too. I've always tried to do things manually first, to understand what's happening. Then I've used MJ to automate repeating stuff that I've already done. I also use MJ to test various variants of the same rocket. Like running identical launches with several different lifters to understand how different designs work without having to manually repeat launch after launch trying to keep exactly the same profile.
  16. This is exactly my experience too. I have a very dated GTX 570 (actually found, in a very Jeb/Kerbal way, in the thrash) and it runs KSP at 1920x1080 at 30+ fps without any major issues. I actually run it locked at 30 fps because the GPU fans make such a racket when loaded (I sometimes fear that my computer will fall over or walk away due to those fans).
  17. Duna. Mainly because I'm a fan of all the RL stuff that is going on at Mars. So I like building my own crazy versions of the rovers and orbiters.
  18. Normally it's the availability of an update that triggers me to start a new one.
  19. Actually you can pull a bread out the oven to early, it tends to be a bit soggy in the middle.
  20. The train is still holding at the station, we're just boarding early to get a good seat.
