  1. I'd like to see US vehicles added, but I think that Soviet/Russian items should be first priority, after all, there's a number of modders implementing the US space program stuff, but only one active Soviet mod other than this one (that I'm aware of.)
  2. FAR, the most popular mod on KerbalStuff, has just over 400,000 downloads. Mechjeb, the most popular on Curse, has about 550,000. Considering, again, that the 'mods and addons' button in the game links to Curse, that's pretty remarkable.
  3. Congrats! As I said in the Reddit thread, I think this really does speak volumes as to how the community feels about Curse. Despite it being the 'official' source of mods, the community went with KerbalStuff. Squad is known for listening to its community, so listen to them now. Ditch Curse and give your support to the community run program.
  4. http://imgur.com/a/mv8oW The saga of the K-2 sounding rocket. Other mods used are at the bottom of the gallery.
  5. AVP seems to be broken with the current version. It's something to do with the detail1.png file in the cloud textures, which seems to be the file responsible for ALL clouds in the game. The file in question is pretty big (~50mb,) but even replacing it with a smaller one (I tried the ~500kb version from KSPRC) doesn't help. Removing the file will allow the game to run, although installing any other large mods is a no-no, since AVP by itself is pushing the memory requirement up around about 3GB. If you're looking for an alternative, Proot's KSPRC seems to be functioning with version .9. It's lacking some of the fancier features (like surface dust,) but it makes the game look nice and adds clouds. EDIT: This is based on my own experiences and what I encountered while trying to solve the problem via Google. Your results may vary.
  6. detail1.png appears to be causing a crash. Everything else works, but only if I remove that one file...which is quite annoying since it appears to be key to getting clouds to work. I've tried using lower resolution versions, and even using the 500kb file from Proot's pack, but no joy. It gets to the point where it's loading the main menu and crashes, regardless of using openGL or 32/64 bit.
  7. Also, Jeb preparing for the first manned test of the first KSP manned capsule. For science!
  8. I've been playing around a bit with Sounding Rockets and Movietime in my grossly overmodded career mode. It's gloriously crashy, but between that I did manage to get some shots: The first KSC launch, a single stage sounding rocket. The second rocket, now with TWO stages! The third rocket. I bet you can guess how many stages it had. Don't ask about K-4. We don't talk about K-4. The fourth (not fifth) rocket in the K series violates the rule of K-numbering by having three stages, but the first stage is a real doozy, so it's alright. Also, the first Kerbal image from SPACE! Jeb was really excited over this. (my own humble tribute to this: http://petapixel.com/assets/uploads/2014/09/earth1.jpg Taken from a V-2 rocket in 1946.)
  9. Gemini-Soyuz and Voskhod-Atlas...ah, if only real life was more like KSP. I mean, with less death an explosions. So like...meeting halfway, maybe.
  10. Am I going to hell for this?
  11. Sounding rockets work fine for me with FAR and RSS. Four in on each stage got me up to over 100,000 meters. There was a dodgy moment where the nosecone almost exploded due to going a bit fast, but it worked out alright.
  12. Hrm, I've been fiddling with adding the crossfeed module to various parts and nothing seems to help. I get the 'enable/disable fuel crossfeed' button on the tank in the editor, but the fuel still won't flow. Does anybody have a working example they would be willing to share? In slightly related suggestion territory, I did eventually convert the spheroid tank into a TAC LS oxygen container, since the spherical tanks were apparently used to hold atmosphere as well as fuel on the real Vostok/Voskhod vessel.
  13. Ah, thanks! I'll give that a try. That would sort of negate the point of having it as a super-early manned mod, though.
  14. Real Fuels doesn't appear to be playing nicely with the Almach. RCS won't transfer from the little spheroid tanks to the engine (the Vos-909,) so you have to use a full sized RCS tank, which totally kills the TWR/ISP. I wasn't sure if this was an issue to post in the RF topic or here...I figured I'd post it here first.
  15. The RGBA settings, I meant. I'm using KSPRC, which mostly works with RSS, but it gives me a green Jupiter and a purple Venus (thanks for the link too!)
  16. Would you mind sharing the color settings for clouds you used? Trial and error with trying to get the cloudlayers file just right is exhausting ._.
  17. I got one later that wanted an orbit of between 32 and 35km. And then a three star with a 90km-ish orbit. It seems that the number of stars affects how high the orbit is.
  18. The Agena mission in my current install wants an orbit of between 25.6 and 26.1 kilometers...I'm pretty sure that's not possible. It may be MCE interacting with my other mods (or 64-bit,) but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case... (that is to say, the contract is asking for very low orbits...often ones within the lower levels of the atmosphere.)
  19. Anybody have the files for the rolling dust storms on Duna? The link the OP directs me to wants me to install a download manager or some other nonsense.
  20. Kaustralia: The Kaustralian space program was driven not so much by the ever-present Kerbal desire to reach for the stars, but by more intensely practical issues such as the local poisonous spiders, as well as the deadly reptiles, mammals, birds, plants, lichens and fungi of the land of Kaustralia. In fact, most Kerbal biologists agree that it's much easier to list the non-deadly species of Kaustralia, which generally boils down to "some of the sheep. The Kaustralian space program has recently been banned from the Kerbalnational Space Station after an incident where a spider stowed away on one of its vessels, resulting in the entire station's crew being killed, one from a spider bite and sixteen from venting the explosion which resulted from the attempts to kill the creature. Kerbonauts investigating the wreckage report that the spider was alive and well, having sealed off one of the emergency suit helmets with its web. KSC administrators have been pondering a nuclear strike in order to clear the orbit, but Kaustralian officials have warned that such actions would probably only anger the spider. EDIT: Also, as a suggestion, have you considered working with the KerbinSide guys to put these flags in the game? It'd be pretty neat to see them flying at appropriate locations in the world
  21. Will future versions include a custom ... gecko experiment? Eve: "The purple light causes the geckos to become extremely funky." Jool: "The geckos consider the high gravity a challenge." Minmus: "The are engaged in a variety of fascinating acrobatics." Duna: "The geckos say it's too dusty for this experiment."
  22. If it helps at all, there's a guy in the WIP forum who's making Soviet probes and rockets: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/88045-0-24-2-WIP-Soviet-Probes-NOW-WITH-ROCKETS!-v0-93-9-5-14 His are all 2.5 meters, though. (Secretly hoping for a new incarnation of the Soviet Pack)
