Kerbal Space Program update 1.4 Grand Discussion thread.
klesh replied to UomoCapra's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I noticed some weirdness when changing the music volume in flight. Selecting a new volume and hitting accept, the game goes back to the original volume until you load a new scene. I've also noticed the weird flashing smoke with SRB's. It happens very easily on the old GLV3 stock craft once you get supersonic. I really like the texture switching, but I don't understand the new theme system. In the VAB in the advanced build mode, under subassemblies there is a new button for it, but its labeled #autoLOC_8003021 instead of whatever it should be named. I cant seem to add any parts to these themes listed there, or figure out any way to make use of it. Not sure I am a fan of the fairing base artwork, but the fairings themselves, especially the insides look good. I remember the dev note about how you guys sorted the texture mapping on them. Well done. Really like the new Mk1-3 pod. The working RCS is great. The top seems a little narrow though, and while matching up nicely with the diameter of the LES, something like the regular round nosecone is way too big when placed on top. New KSC map marker is a no brainer. Looks great. Saw KSP is now supported by nVidia Freestyle, but it doesn't seem to work with 1.4. That might look nice to play around with. -
I will guess Yogi Berra?

Deported BV was some weird shell company Squad made in the Netherlands, presumably to skirt paying taxes in Mexico.

In terms of them taking stuff, that hasn't really changed. It was no big deal to me, but a screenshot I posted on Steam of all places, not even on these forums, was taken without permission and used to promote the console port on Playstation webpages (since removed, with the Enhanced Edition's arrival). This was before Take Two ever entered the picture. On Steam at least, your "created content" is not owned by you, and Squad (at least just them at that time) had no problem nabbing content and using it for profit etc.

Hi Rachel. Unfortunately most of us have zero experience with KerbalEDU, and that part of the forum sees little to no activity. Good luck with your project! What are some other games people have chosen to use?

Mk2 tank textures rotating incorrectly
klesh replied to archnem's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Ah this old, sloppy problem. I was hoping Baddie had posted to say it was getting attention after years. Guess not. -
Multiple clicks cycle through possible results
klesh replied to John FX's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Right clicking the icon and having a list of "vessels in vicinity" would be my preferred solution. Its good feedback like this that would've been useful after they had added all the content in alpha and were working on polishing the game during the 10 minutes it spent in Beta. -
Kerbal Engineer installation on mac?
klesh replied to SpaceDirt's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I don't have a Mac, but the folder structure of KSP is probably the same on both. You want to put the KER folder inside the GameData folder. -
The contracts are rarely sensible, if ever.

What about a prefix pulldown on the post submission page? One that would let the poster designate what platform their question is for. I’ve seen forums like that, where you could then even sort by this prefix to get a list of platform-specific questions. Forum badgewise, what about some kind of group (like global moderator etc) that rather than being assigned by an admin, is selectable on your profile via pulldown. Self-assignable usergroup, I suppose. No special permissions or attributes to the group, other than a special text being displayed by your name.

Could this be a result of the terrain seam fix that came with 1.3?
-
Nope. PC. Alt+F12 but it defaults to "console", you have to click "cheats" on the left side.

Hello, welcome to the forums.

Pics of the craft? Its probably some weird symmetry bug, if I had to guess.

Yeah thats a weird logo for sure. Why the kerbal's body is fused to a rocket is strange, and only some of the bottom o the rocket to boot. It also bugs me how the top edge of the words "history pack" are uneven against the red edging. I also think its kind of weird that Sputnik has what appears to be exhaust coming from it in the main MH logo.

You can just click the .exe to start KSP. It doesn’t require Steam to be open.
