  1. Oh no... here it comes... NASA copyright infringement.
  2. I do RCS placement in stages, balanced and based on CoM. For example: placement on the lander, then placement on the lander + transfer stage, and then placement on the lander + transfer stage + lifter (when required, and when so - using Vernors). Also, I find keeping the RCS blocks on the same plane (part diameters) helpful in balance as well, especially with respect to docking.
  3. Getting there isn't as big a problem as getting back. I would suggest a probe first.
  4. Absolutely this ^ As for the struts, not only do I strut the fuel tanks to the inverted tri-coupler, I strut them to each other.
  5. All stock stuff I've done in the past (and soon to do again as I progress through the Tech Tree): A plane with a cargo bay which drops a Mk1 capsule loaded with a Kerbal and plenty of science, and a rover which could be dropped from orbit 'near' places of interest and then driven to.
  6. Meddling with Celestia, playing Day Of Defeat (pre-Source), and flying various flight simulators.
  7. Dare I ask? What's Minecraft? Never played it.
  8. I've been this route before, previous versions. Tried all the suggestions (again). Nope... doesn't work. Like I said, what's needed is a free fly mode; But something tells me that because of the way the game is designed (mechanics involved), it isn't going to happen. You can slate that as my only real disappointment with KSP.
  9. I'll have to check that out, it might be the solution I'm looking for. Exactly. What's needed is a 'free fly' mode. I feel the same is needed for view control overall... when the camera is fixed around the center of mass of a ship and you need to access something (science experiments on the capsule, or in a Service Bay), it can be a real pain in the arse... same with moving around while building in VAB.
  10. That is a bit weird. I've not seen that before.
  11. The one thing I was really wishing for and hoping to see in the v1.x release, which didn't come true, was a change in the way Kerbals EVA. By that I mean: When you're out on EVA, to point your view in a particular direction, press Space and your Kerbal orients face-forward to that direction, and all EVA controls function relative to that direction. Know what I mean? Will we ever see this in a future update?
  12. They look like ghosts... maybe the lost souls of Kerbals past, floating around the launchpad wishing new voyagers a safe trip? lol
  13. I'm back to dealing with (fighting with) wobbly rockets and SAS fighting itself ... but this too shall pass. I actually managed to land on Mun, and get back home again. Oh yea, watch out for the hole in the sidewalk in front of the western-most R&D building... it's a doozy.

  15. Eset also makes NOD32... quite familiar with it. It is a Georgian company (Republic of Georgia). NOD32 is 'ok', but I've found it lacking. IMO, the two best free to be had in the Windows realm are either AVG or AVAST ..... I have proven track records with both (for many many people) since the late 80's early 90's. You really should look into Malwarebytes and SpyBot.
  16. I like that effect as well. I first noticed it lifting off from Mun.
  17. https://www.shodor.org/succeedhi/succeedhi/orbits/Notes-content.html and http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-calculate-centripetal-acceleration-of-an-or.html
  18. Funny, I was reading about 'robots' in the news just this morning... the article and research paper behind it. Interesting stuff. Likely, robots of the future will be synthetic organisms, not mechanical hydraulics... perhaps even indistinguishable from humans in both looks, behavior, and intelligence. "You can be replaced." comes to mind. lol
  19. Maybe its time they installed a new microwave oven? Newer ones don't 'leak' as such. lol
  20. I would still like to see (hear) a mod for an audible radar ping for docking and landing purposes.
  21. Likewise. And I'm sure the Devs appreciate constructive feedback ..... note I say constructive. Constructive can be both positive and negative. I'm chuckling at all of this, all these posts as such, because had there been no Beta or early releases you'd not know the difference and would be very happy just to have a new game to play with.
  22. 1950's rockets indeed! http://www.freewebs.com/steamnoir/rockets.htm
  23. Thank you for the review and sparing me. lol
  24. I'm playing a science game and I've not yet gotten Tech for the 2.5m Service Bay, but I do have the 1.25m Service bay and I have mounted an OKTO inside it ... no problems so far. I should have the 2.5m Service Bay soon - I'll try it out too. Which probe core are you using?
  25. I only bring it up because there are new parts, and parts that function differently, and key bindings which have changed. I know KSP has been under development, but it is after all out of beta now. As lajoswinkler points out, there's a lot of content to be reviewed; Maybe it's time for a call for volunteers/submissions for a Wiki update?
