That looks a little different than the one I have... yours is a white building, mine is a dark gray. Is this v1.2.2? Also, you speak of another KSC at sea; Where is this? I thought I'd found all of the anomalies (according to SCANsat).

Just finished watching The Green Slime on TCM. How I ever missed this one, I don't know. I really needed a good laugh today... and this was it. Quite Kerbal.

Hidden figures | The untold true story about Katherine G. Johnson
LordFerret replied to Spaceception's topic in The Lounge
While he was a real person, and he did do some work for NASA, he was not a part of the team in question. -
Hidden figures | The untold true story about Katherine G. Johnson
LordFerret replied to Spaceception's topic in The Lounge
It is a 'feel good' docudrama, a story with elements of truth woven into it. I'm not bashing it; But; The three central female figures were but part of a team, but emphasis portrayed in the movie is misleading to that fact. There is a very deep backstory to this, but I'm going to leave it to you to do the homework. An interesting movie, just keep it in the back of your head that 'this is Hollywood'. -
Typically 4 to 6 hours a day... because real life intervenes. Sometimes, when I don't really have time, I'll start the game and let it run just so time progresses - always listening however for KAC alarms.

Just for the record, I wasn't insulting WinkAllKerb", and I think he knows that.

You're complaining about crap internet and a 2 hour download... while mine takes 3 to 4 hours. I can relate. I tried the launcher / patcher once. Fail. Period. Now I just do a full download of every update... make that 'save-braking-update', as nearly every single one of them has been.

There's a reason why California is called "the last stop". Those who can't hack it on the east coast, move west. Excuse me; I'm from New Joisey.

Yes to both of you. Also, the asking for such permissions could also create a stir... perhaps better not to (you're supposed to be working, not browsing the internet and posting on forums). @pxi's last statement is perhaps the best way to go in all of this. Use your phone or a netbook of some kind.

Wow. If I'd not seen this, I wouldn't have believed it. Kudos, and many points to you!

Your PC has a USB port, yes? Put Tor on a flash drive and run it from there, you don't have to install anything.

Is that where my Dottie went! She went AWOL on me. I can relate. I've had this happen a few times, not often, but a few times. It is very annoying. For a while I'd been doing saves after placing nearly every part because of it. It seems to have settled down for me though. I don't know why. There is however a new issue... click lag. That's where I'll click on a part in the list, drag it over to where I want it... only it hasn't grabbed any part from the list, and instead grabs a part of the ship. I'm sure you can picture that, and my reaction... (insert foul language here) _____! In other news, I finally grabbed one of those sparkly pretty asteroids. I found this Big Mo, a class E behemoth, floating by, so I ran out to it for an encounter. I'm happy now.

Rockomax Brand Decoupler Fairing
LordFerret replied to LordFerret's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I just now tried your suggestion; I never knew this... indeed, there is a second attachment mark. I also just discovered (realized) that the shroud is a part of the heat shield and not the decoupler! So that now makes this an issue / bug with the heat shield. Thank you for pointing this out. I don't think this offset problem has anything to do with the grabber however, as I've a number of other ships without any grabber that have the same issue... see image example below. The issue is new as of v1.2, along with some weird behaviors with the Hitchhiker module and Mobile Science Lab. I'll be posting about that elsewhere. Thanks again. -
Yea, that's kind of what I was figuring on. I thought if it wasn't going to work, that I could detach at the last second and bring the capsule in normally. It all went south so fast though... one second all was cool, the next ..... poof! I'd be interested in hearing your assessment of landing; In a real plane (and normal flight simulators) you're required to land under power and throttle back slowly to prevent nose-diving.

I attempted to deorbit an asteroid, and to ride it in. Bad idea. The asteroid was destroyed, exploded, and took my capsule and crew with it. Lost were Tanfel and Modie Kermin, RIP.

totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?
LordFerret replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in The Lounge
What an annoying thread. Why did I even click that? I should have known better, it's Reddit. -
Heh heh... doing it now as we write this.
-
Which? The matter of camera focus mentioned by @Rob2222? Or my mention of undocumented features?

I find this... http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/50701-community-mods-and-plugins-library-oct202016/ ...invaluable. It's my go-to for everything. Not only do I want it back, I want it updated as there's a lot of stuff that's not listed in it.

KSP: v1.2.2 64-bit Windows 8.1 Problem: The fairing on the Rockomax Brand Decoupler has a tendency to become 'detached', although it is still connected to the ship. I notice this most often when switching to various ships which use it. See images below for examples. This is new for me as of KSP v1.2.2 Mods Installed: Chatterer-0.9.92 HullcamVDS_Continued-0.1.6 Kerbal_Alarm_Clock-3.8.3.0 MemGraph_1.1.0.3 ModuleManager-2.7.5 SCANsat-v16.11 Reproduction steps: Build a few ships which use the part and start switching back and forth between them. Logs & Files: output_log.txt persistent.sfs AstroCatch.craft Image samples:

Just a note: My AstroCatch ship, which I've now cloned 6 times... yea, I've got 6 of them roaming around out there, grabbing asteroids. 4 of them have grabbed asteroids so far, and put them into stable orbit around Kerbin (just for fun). None of the asteroids I've grabbed thus far have any 'pretty' coloring to them, they're all dull gray. A bit disappointed. I know @Brownhair2 said they're rare and special. But how rare and special? Anyone have an idea of the odds of finding one?

Damn, I'm mad. Really mad. Bug-Drop-1, a probe designed to drop 4 little rovers on Moho, its encounter finally came up (SOI change). So I set a maneuver node for orbital insertion. Then, I got distracted; Dinner was cooking, time to take it out of the oven. I should have known better... hit the Esc key... but no, I wasn't thinking... but I was thinking... thinking dinner, food, my baked chicken. And so, Bug-Drop-1 soared on past its Moho encounter. Imagine my surprise when I returned to the computer. Ha. Goodbye Moho... Damn, I'm mad. Really mad.

Ha ha! I thought that said 'loss of thrust'. Same difference, eh?
