  1. What I did today? I built and flew a new jet... for about 4 hours, close to half way around Kerbin... only to have the game suddenly crash, hard.
  2. You mean: To create Kisneyland there. I landed in a crater one time before I began using SCANsat, and it wasn't until after leaving that I saw an arch up top of the crater rim. Imagine my disappointment. lol
  3. (Quoted you again, yes I did.) I downloaded and installed that mod. Wow. Very interesting results. It appears to me that engines especially and aerodynamic effects (those little cloud puffs when going supersonic) during liftoffs are the worst of offenders. The heap allocation increase is not permanent I'll take it, and would have to run this with each time I start the game again? Clearly this one is on the devs. Do you think I should post my test images in the mod's thread? Is it worth my time and effort? Running the test / adjustment only provided minor relief... but it was none-the-less an increase in performance. Thanks again for the tip. Being on a laptop, this was one of the first annoyances I encountered. The 'profile' for when it was plugged in was bad enough... pulling the plug and running on battery was ten times worse. Creating custom power management profiles is a must, especially evaluation of the 'advanced' options.
  4. That I will do! Thank you for pointing that out. Currently reading the thread... interesting!
  5. I have seen several seams here and there on Kerbin, but I've not actually encountered them yet. Not looking forward to this. I have run into seams on Minmus, both in past versions and the current v1.2.1 version. They are dangerous. The only hope you have with them is to drive (your rover) along it until you find an area where the gap is both level and minimal... then make your crossing there. I'm not getting complete system freezes, but I am getting clockwork 'pauses'... as if excessive garbage collection is occurring. It is not very consistent, and varies with the ship I'm piloting. The pause can occur anywhere from every 1 to 3 or more seconds, and last an eighth or quarter second or more in duration. It is VERY annoying trying to pilot a ship during launch or docking maneuvers in the midst of this. It might be attributed to one of the mods I'm using. I've not investigated that yet. Something to do. My mods: Chatterer, HullcamVDS_Continued, Kerbal_Alarm_Clock, Module_Manager, SCANsat, and x-science. Are you running vanilla, or with mods also? Yes, ladders. However, it is far less pronounced than in the past. Yes and No. I find on occasion that it can be 'stubborn', requiring repeated insistent clicks.
  6. Sitting here wondering if the Kerbals inside have strings attached to them.
  7. My brush with kidney disease was being diagnosed as stage three, facing dialysis and possible transplant. Turned out I was misdiagnosed, and have less than 10% loss in function, which is perfectly normal for someone my age. The torment I faced for six months before finding out this truth is another story; This was all thanks to the ineptitude and incompetence of the VA. @linuxgurugamer, that's an incredible gift you've given. You are an amazing example of kindness and generosity, and I think you are to be looked to and emulated.
  8. I would... except I can't seem to get that tossing in the air thing down, and my kitchen ceiling is too low.
  9. Clearly they're related to ferrets... slower lazy cousins... without teeth.
  10. That you got it to take off and fly is what gets me. Neat trick.
  11. I don't think it's the same thing, but I've been experiencing roll issues with SAS/RCS. In particular, the vessel rolls back and forth endlessly, burning off RCS like mad. The only way I've found to counter it, is to turn SAS and RCS off, manually cancel the roll, and then add SAS then RCS back in (if I'm to be soon making a maneuver, else I leave just SAS on). In the past there was an issue with SAS fighting itself, but I thought it was resolved. Maybe not?
  12. No to the torrent. This is standard fair for me, as I always get my game copies from the store. It always hangs on me, and it takes me 2 or 3 tries before I get it.
  13. Here's your craft with the BZ-52 radials removed, as well as the TT-70 decouplers. I put girders on directly, which also moved the engine stacks out a little further so now you can drive the rover out forward without any exploding results. Hope this helps you a little.
  14. I have your craft file. First, I don't see the need for 3 HECS... 1 on the rover, yes... the other 2 on the engine stacks, no. I'd get rid of them unless you've got some other motive not clear to me; The lander is controlled by the Kerbals inside the Mk2 lander can. Also, you don't need the BZ-52 radial attachments on the engine stacks, the girders can attach directly, save yourself some weight. Second, the TR-2V decoupler holding the rover; I would reduce the ejection force (I changed the force percent to "1"), and just let the rover drop via gravity. Also, for some reason an invisible collision is occurring between the rear rover solar panels and the lander engines when you attempt to drive the rover forward ... that could be why it was blowing up on you on Minmus. Back the rover up (reverse) from beneath the lander instead of trying to drive it forward. Don't forget to take the rover's HECS out of hibernation; You fooled me with that one.
  15. Found it; An older KSP version rover, up on Minmus, examining a tear in the terrain. This rover had a SCANsat BTDT scanner, as well as Hullcam night-vision, among plenty of science. The 4 little monojets (old style Puff engines) on top were an emergency anti-flip measure (worked great).
  16. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackjack aka '21'
  17. I can't see the rover clearly enough in that image; Do you have any parts clipped into or around the seats?
  18. The cost of such a satellite would keep me in frozen pizzas for life, ready in my microwave in less time it takes for reentry. Blech! One word: Charlie's.
  19. Wow is this page ever image heavy. I tried to bring 'Trama' and her companion home today, reentering their orbiting lab. It all went fine until the landing, where the lab pitched over and rolled down a hill ... my bad, poor choice of landing sites. In the end, the whole thing went kaboom, and now Trama and her companion have gone MIA. Could be a long walk back home, maybe they'll show up again someday. I must be slipping. Other than that, I'm playing v1.2.1, and I'm getting some weird graphics glitches. Anybody else getting this?
  20. I've downloaded and installed KSP v1.2.1, and I have HullcamVDS_Continued-0.1.3 installed. On KSP startup, it tells me the mod is not version compatible, but it is working as far as I can tell... the docking camera anyway. I guess I should try the other cameras too.
  21. So... launching straight up and then initiating an orbit burn at 70km really IS a thing? lol
  22. What I did today was run across a very annoying issue (bug? / feature?), where when viewing my ship and right-click dragging the view around, I suddenly find myself switched to another vessel. This has happened on three different occasions so far, of course, right when I'm about to do a crucial burn (seconds to go). Were punching the screen to serve any purpose, I'd have put my fist clean through it.
  23. You should check out the Hullcam VDS Continued mod, it has a really nice night-vision cam that is just great for rovering around in the dark! It's recently been updated for v1.2!
