  1. Well the Mosquito got swatted, it suffered from the overheating bug one too many times, lots of radiators and fairings seem to induce it. Maybe after 1.05
  2. A redditor used a lot of our craft recreating The Martian trailer.
  3. http://i57.tinypic.com/wi4qad.png http://i58.tinypic.com/6eg4sm.png http://i59.tinypic.com/i1wqb5.png http://i59.tinypic.com/2hmeptt.png Why not put it inside a mk3 cargo bay?it would be smaller but so much more drag and part friendly
  4. Yeah, that's PLAD, he has been helping me with The Dunatian, he is amazing at planning transfers and gravity assists. Edit: He makes the WinFlyBy Finder for stock and RSS
  5. Do you mind me asking for your fairing texture script, I have the mod, just have not made the part entry yet.
  6. The taper is the width difference between the body and the tail, so the tail tapers from the body to the tail, its cross section getting smaller as it goes. I think your BF110's taper is too sharp, so the tail is angled too sharply. It should be a more gentle taper, which probably means the central body is too long. I was mistaken about the top edge being straight, but it's not far off straight.
  7. The trouble with landing using KER is that the display matches the land below you, not the land where you are going to touchdown which can vary by many thousands of meters in height, unless you come straight down. On Duna I use chutes as well as thrusters, I pop the chutes at around 700ms, just a few will usually slow me to below 100ms which gives me plenty of leeway to adjust my speed down to below 12ms for touchdown using the thrusters.
  8. Nah, I can see what confuses you though, I am still working on the engine nacelles, its a mosquito
  9. Taking a break from The Dunatian, need some space from it to come back refreshed for the end run to release. So Colombia got me thinking about my favourite plane from world war 2. I'm taking my time. fleshing it out as a favourite deserves.
  10. You may be right, it doesn't look right when I do it my way either, every aircraft has a centreline that goes from the tip of the nose to the trailing edge. Depending on it's picture orientation the BF110 top edge looks to be either straight or just off straight. But you can see below it's definitely not completely straight.
  11. It bothers me because the airframe does not taper correctly, the top edge should be straight, virtually from nose to tail. I just played around and if you use an interstage fairing in the tail to connect to a straight edge taper tail piece you can make that straight top edge. The nose is going to be difficult, even with fairing tweaker it is difficult to get that slow taper and then fast rounded nose. I can send you a craft file if you want to demonstrate what I mean, it's got no wings or anything it's just an empty fuselage. Also the problem with WWII planes is that hardly any had a round cross section, so using radiator panels and wing sections gives you a better match for the shape immediately, but is not as clean. It actually works better with the normal tail peice
  12. Added a new initial alpha save file to the project, it just has the Kerbals renamed and is forwarded to the K-D-K transfer window. Going to have a go putting Kerbes on the initial transfer.
  13. Yeah the main point of this is a playable save file for anyone playing the stock game. So we have to cater for all sorts of computers.
  14. I redesigned the Hermes to be more Kerbal sized, and to also have a spinning wheel. Plus it now has a launcher and about 7000m/s dV with almost 1 TWR. I have renamed it the Kerbes. I think the part count is slightly better than the old one. I realised the central docking ports were superfluous and I should just launch the whole core, it's only 53 tons empty. It even behaves pretty good under thrust, which is important if you are going to have a spinning wheel. I just have to separate out the ring components and build a launcher for them
  15. Could you use a strut part that"s length is set on save to a ground based part, all invisible? So it can exist when not active. - - - Updated - - - Sorry silly question, can see it's been done before.
  16. All these Hermes are looking great, but the part counts are way to high for a working ship that needs to manoeuvre and dock. If there is one thing we have learned from making this is that being ferocious with part count is the key, otherwise the Kraken comes and gets your stuff, and for something that we want people to play it must work reliably every time for every system.
  17. Just overclocking, your GPU is not your problem, part count is the only thing that would lag your system and only higher CPU frequencies would help with that. 1.1 when it is released may help a bit too.
  18. Overclocking would give you some more performance, and if you are not running the Windows 64bit hack then that is a good system to run Linux 64bit which will help you run lots of mods.
  19. The new cockpit is going to suit this replica much better.
  20. That looks pretty right, he said it descended on a combination of chutes and thrusters, and could have been a bit unstable as it ended up on it's side.
