Many parts like batteries have little lights, you just clip them inside so only the light is visible -
Working on completing The Dunatian (see the link in my sig), at least to beta, it's getting real close now.

I think it's not only that theres nothing much out there, it's that you have lots of tools to make designing rockets easier but interplanetary flight tools seem unnecessarily circumscribed. e.g. Include a transfer planner, that might make it more enticing to do outer system trips. The stats only show that people don't go, they don't show why, I have heard many casual players lament it being too difficult to bother with, not too difficult to do, just too much bother for little reward.

I actually think the one thing they have ruled out would be the saviour of multiplayer, and thats FTL. Wormhole drives or something similar would reduce the need for time warping, you just need to get to say for example 500km apo before engaging the drive. Get rid of physics time warp in Multiplayer, or maybe do it in shifts, would add a strategic value to physics warp.

I think he is saying in a timeframe that doesn't give you cancer. Like The Martian using a Vasimir drive to thrust all the way for a 39 day transit. I agree that it is possible to get the required dV to get there quick enough with chemical rockets, but then theres stopping, it all starts to add up to a massive transfer vehicle. -

The amount of time you spend in the high rad environment would depend on the quality of your shielding and the amount you are willing to take. Older Astronauts who have already fathered children might be willing to take a higher dose than young astronauts. The research seems to indicate better shielding is on the way. How to make custom cargo bay

I would start the cargo bay with a structural frame down the middle botom and then attach the wing parts to that. One strut to link the wings together at the top. One/two struts to attach each section of wings to the other. You can make stock bearings or attach the door via docking ports and drop it use monoprop thrusters to get it back up. -
