  1. Despite the usual ... err ... 'effects' that have become sort of a tradition with each release, I must agree. Re-entry into Kerbin atmosphere seems more sophisticated in terms of aerodynamics. Also, the thermal model appears more realistic(if there is such a thing in terms of a 'kerbiverse' simulator). Oh and the performance boost I experience is also worth going for 1.1.x - that said, I'm looking forward to my first 1.1.x munar landing (starting all over again).
  2. My white suited Giselle Kerman (science career) is one of these 10%. I checked by reading the savegame file.
  3. Naked and yet genderless, no wonder the guy is in a killing mood ...
  4. Acknowledged. As I have written, for me the native-display-resoulution workaround fixes these issues so it's not like the game is unplayable for me. But it is a little disappointing that things like this happen after waiting for the new release so long. Not whining though: I'm already playing 1.1 science mode and having lots of fun with it.
  5. Does your MOD offer fries with it? Great work, man!!
  6. Sorry, no screenshots today. But I successfully touched down on duna soil. Well, not for the first time but for the first time being able to actually return to duna orbit and dock to the return stage I left there. However, I only had 5.56 units of LF and about 20 units MP left in the lander's tanks when docking. Close call, I'd say. Now let's see if we can get the crew back to kerbin.
  7. Um, why not iron out these findings first, then have a second testing run by selected gamers and then, if most of the obvious findings are fixed, release to the public? I really don't want to argue, sal_vager, KSP still is my #1 game and 1.1 promises a lot of cool new stuff. But I just don't understand why there are so many bugs/glitches/issues with each new release (remember 1.0, 1.0.2, 1.0.4, 1.0.5)? Understood: changing the Unity engine is a major impact that causes problems - we all knew this and so we are not that surprised. Yet, it seems that Squad is a little too eager to get a new release out the door instead of taking a little more time to fix the bugs that came in during QA / prerelease.
  8. Same issue on my Linux Mint 17.3 box. The thrust indicator bug may go away if you set KSP resolution to native display resolution. The rendering issues with the lists (e.g. when selecting craft or selecting flags at the start menu) will also disappear if the resolution is set to native display resolution. At least that's what worked for me regarding this issue. However, these glitches are so obviuos that I wonder how much tequila the Q&A team has been consuming while running their tests ... If something like this is caused by the underlying framewok (e.g. Unity 5) and it's a known problem, then why release a product (KSP) that suffers from these issues? This is what I don't understand.
  9. Reading the forum (KSP Fan Works) every day and just noticed *now* that 1.1 is out. Anyway: Yay!!
  10. Yet another musical genius gone way, way too soon. "Sometimes it snows in April ..."
  11. MechJeb is cheating! EDIT: got one more -> systemd is great!
  12. Brilliant! I enjoyed your story very much!! p.s. referring to ARL/HAL as "jumped up Speak and Spell" got me laughing for quite a while.
  13. I haven't played KSP for over a month now but yesterday I went back to the VAB to continue work on my Duna lander project. It's like the Eagles sing it in their song Hotel California: "... you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."
  14. Alternative Resource Panel and Docking Alignment Indicator - oh and KER
  15. So it's been 55 years since the first human was shot to space. In order to celebrate this anniversary, I decided to honor this historic effort by lauching good ol' Jeb to LKO using the craft (ASES F1-b) that got him there as my "first Kerbal in space" many, many Muns ago. ...for science, for kerbalkind!
  16. "A vast conspiracy of comestibles, reaching to the highest levels!" And not only on Kerbin!
  17. You mean this thing here? Now that looks like fun!
  18. Hey, thanks! I will try this tonight ...
  19. See, a few days ago I mentioned in this posting that I suck at building spaceplanes and shuttles. Well, as of today, I suck a little less ... (and *yes* the shuttle pictured below made a smooth landing somewhere in the desert. Desert because I still suck at aiming in on KSC when returning from orbit)
  20. I discovered KSP sonwhere in late 2014 and played the demo for about two weeks. Then I went for the full version which must have been 0.25 I think. Keep playing it almost every day, which is unique since I never played a singe game for such a long time.
  21. Okay, so "Schnitzel" in the US means "fried meat on a stick" - no problem. But if you ever get to visit Germany or Austria, be prepared for the original "Schnitzel" (pictured below: Viennese Schnitzel - the one and only!): Now I start to feel hungry ...
  22. Since my native language is german, I really enjoy those (more or less) nonsene german-like sentences and words. "Fleischgewehr" (Fleisch = meat, Gewehr = rifle) - I guess if I use that in my mother tounge it would be considered an offense ...
  23. This sounds very familiar to me ... but for the sake of this thread (and my hurt ego) I will give it (building a spaceplane) another shot. It will probably go *boom* or disintegrate in mid-air like the others I tried to build so far.
  24. Well, I used to start with science mode in 0.25 and played it for over a year now, having started a new science mode game when 1.0.4 was released. However, recently I find myself spending more and more time in sandbox mode. As for career mode I think that it just isn't what many people, including me, thought it would be.
