Went to the Moon in RSS. No screenshots though: I was too focussed on accomplishing the mission to take any. Next time I'll get there I'll take a few and probably post about it.

I realised that since a few days, my RCS blocks fire only in one direction. Other than that RCS works fine, as intended, especially for the Place Anywhere RCS Port with no problem whatsoever. This issue occurs with all RCS blocks: stock and modded (I'm using Ven's Stock Revamp, but I don't think it changes RCS behaviour), so I thought that the issue might be linked to Real Fuels or some RCSFX stuff, but I haven't touched anything linked to RCS on my RF install recently. My modlist is available here. Playing KSP 1.0.4 32bit on Windows. Any help or advices from people who already encountered this issue or know how to solve it are appreciated!

Though a screenshot is often useful for reporting issues, in the case of a black screen, it's not going to help a lot I suggest you read this thread and provide the information mentioned (especially logs and modlist): then it will be a lot easier to determine the cause of your bug.

No particular article, but a whole field of research called Quantum Cognition (forgive me for the Wikipedia link, but I don't feel like learning quantum mechanics and neurosciences at 2am to find an article ).
-
(I'm not a neuroscientist so don't take what I say for granted) The brain doesn't use quantum processes to interpret informations, but there are some research hypotheses that suggest similarities between the structure and workings of the brain, and some quantum phenomenons. I don't have an article to link right now, so I can't be more precise about this, but still, it exists.

Mod to maintain angle of attack with shuttles ?
Gaarst replied to Gaarst's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Thank you, trying it now ! -
Yes, try Googling random stuff about rockets, you'll be surprised at how much results are KSP screenshots/videos or forum threads.
-
Title is pretty self-explanatory: is there any mod out there that allows to set a definite angle of attack for a shuttle/spaceplane during reentry, so that SAS maintains your craft at this AoA ? I know MechJeb does that (I think so), and I know you can configure kOS to do it; but I still would like to know another mod which does this specifically.

Please find a way to enforce spoilers on image heavy posts. Loading and browsing threads with a lot of images can quickly become a real nightmare even with a decent connexion. (see here for an example). And it's even worse on mobile: pages keeps scrolling up as images load and take more and more space I don't know if it's me of actually happening, but images seem to load slower with IPS than they did with vBulletin. This and the fact that some posts contain over 15 full-size images (up to 30, I counted) make viewing some threads nothing near pleasant or "user-friendly" or whatever. So a way for the editor to detect when a post is over a given length or size, and forcing the user to use albums or spoilers when that limit is exceeded would be really nice, if possible.
-
I got the same on mobile, I think it's images loading: page gets "longer" and so text goes down and you feel like going up. It eventually stops at some point, but I agree this is a little annoying on image-heavy thread such as this one.

Apart from being really cold and asphixiated, you should be fine on top of Mount Everest. On the other hand, if you go over 19000m without protection, you are going to have some troubles: at that height, pressure is so low water boils at 37°C (Armstrong limit). Anyway, you'd probably be dead before reaching that point.

Modding help needed
Gaarst replied to PajamaJams's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
You have to extract the .zip first. If the extracted folder is "GameData", then just merge it with KSP's GameData folder. If the extracted folder is the name of your mod, then take a look inside it: if it contains a folder named GameData inside, then see above; if it contains just random files/folders, then just drop the extracted folder inside KSP's GameData. Normally, inside your GameData folder, you will then see the Squad folder and the folder of your mod (possibly other files on their own also, especially ModuleManager files). CKAN automatically installs mods if you want, but it is known to sometimes cause issues with your install. -
Notifications for subscribed threads. I like to see when threads I follow are updated, but I don't like getting spammed by e-mails. IPS is way better than vBulletin on that point.

Laptop, same as my other games. Can't have a desktop because I travel a lot between home (France) and university (Scotland). Windows for now. I'll get computing courses next semester so I might get interested in Linux (and I also hate W10). Still, it's a pretty good one, and it can run my over-40-mods KSP install smoothly, as long as I don't go too much over 150 parts.

Lithobrake Exploration Technologies (by NecroBones, the author of SpaceY) adds some big landing legs. These may suit you. If they are too small, then you might want to redesign your first stage.

Fusion. Also, this is going to be locked: politics.

How to get anywhere beyond Kerbin's moons?!
Gaarst replied to jros83's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Strange, it does work for me... Anyway, you got exactly the same thing made as a mod in game, check here. -
Tested Hullcam VDS' zoom feature. Here is a picture of Mars, taken at max zoom from Earth orbit: Picture taken using this satellite: Picture of the same side of Mars at max zoom in the tracking station: It is a shame planets don't seem to appear past a certain distance: I could observe Mercury's dark side, but Venus (in superior conjunction) did not appear, neither did the other planets. Also, I lost a Kerbal during a small crew shuttle reentry because electric charge ran out: I couldn't keep an AoA anymore, so the cockpit overheated... Interesting fact: the other Kerbal made it back to Earth alive. And made another shuttle, this time launched strapped to the side of a big tank, like the STS, that worked surprisingly well. Only minor tweaks were required to make it able to orbit itself.

You want to know why we don't use the Klaw ? Follow these steps: Make a new save Orbit something with a Klaw on it Orbit another vessel with no docking port on it and rendez-vous with the first one Dock the second vessel to the first one, using the Klaw, while still controlling the second Look in the direction of the ground This is why we don't use the Klaw. If you don't want to do this, then here is what will happen: And this is only one of the many bugs bound to the Klaw... Just remember: Klaw = Kraken magnet.

Even if the pronounciation is not exactly the same, you not going to have a language where "Alfa" is pronounced the same as "Foxtrot". And the fact that this alphabet is easy and intuitive to pronounce for most languages was on of the reasons to settle on it. As most communications where this alphabet is used are done in English, even non-native English speakers have to know a little English to operate these communications. You are not going to put someone that pronounces, for example, Juliett as "<pleghm*>ooliet" (whatever this sounds like) for communications. Of course someone that doesn't speak English at all will not pronounce these words correctly, but that person is not going to be in charge of communications in English. Whereas someone who speaks English, even with a strong accent, will make these words recognisable.

Make sure you actually press the enter key after pasting the link, it should work the same way as it does with images. Though I wouldn't be surprised if some forum features were not 100% operational yet.
-
That's strange, it has worked fine for me. Make sure you have the complete album ID. For YouTube videos, that is the same as for regular image: paste the link and press the enter key. This link will change into a video/image automatically.
-
Click on the "i" button at the right end of the editor bar, and paste your Imgur album ID (not the full link), and tadaaa !
