I know how to "share" a folder, was wondering if there was some way to put all the executables in the same folder so that both the win and mac systems could run it from the same folder. Unfortunately, I've been trying to run KSP on my Macbook Pro, and the FPS is very low, so I'm not going to bother.

[0.25] 6S Service Compartment Tubes - "Design smooth!"

Well, yes, but what about the next version? Not being greedy, but I'm trying to only use mods which will have a good chance to be updated for the next version -

Is this still being supported? -
Thank you all for your responses and suggestions. The only issue I have with using the Addon Controller (which I AM going to install), is that there are a few mods (BTSM for one) which change the save files. This is NOT a knock against Addon Controller, just a simple fact. It would be nice if the Addon Controller (I don't know if it does or not) warns you if one of the mods you are enabling/disabling does change the save files. On the other hand, what I need to find out is if (as I suspect) BTSM and others only change the save files when saving, if so, then I could just name the save files appropriately. Addon Controller does have some limitations with regards to Modulemanager. Right now I've been trying out the KSP MOD Admin V1.4.0 program, which, while it does have some limitations, does seem to do a good job of downloading/installing/uninstalling mods from both the Kerbal site and Curse (although Curse is currently broken due to Curse changing their html)

Hi, I downloaded the patched version (for curse), and found that when I went to kerbalstuff.com, searched for a mod, it was unable to download it. To reproduce: Start program, click on the kerbelstuff button, then search for "b9" (without the quotes). When it shows up, try to download. I get the message "Sorry support only for KerbalStuff, CurseForge and KSP Forum URLs."

Hi, It seems that everything is stored in the "\Kerbal Space program" directory on Windows, and "KSP_osx" for the Mac (I assume the Linux install is similar). Does this mean that I can copy the entire directory and be able to have different versions? I'd like to try out some of the available mods, but read that some of them change the save files and other parts, so I'd like to be able to try them in a sandbox environment, and if I like it, then install it to my working directory. Does this make sense? Thanks in advance

[DEAD] Kerbal Modification Catalog

Are you maintaining this again, or do you still need/want someone to take it over? I may have resources available, and have the skills (db & programming) to work with it. I gather you are using Ubuntu, I would have to check with my hosting company as to whether they use Ubuntu or CentOS, either way, it would be doable. Let me know, I PM'd you yesterday about it -
Is there interest in a compatibility chart/matrix?
linuxgurugamer replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Well, since all the comments are essentially to NOT do this, and the poll results are overwhelmingly against, I'm not going to do it. Thank you for your inputs -
Is there interest in a compatibility chart/matrix?
linuxgurugamer replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Well, one of the things I was reading was from the "Better Than Starting Manned", which he specifically says: "BTSM is intended to be played alone. Thus, I do not offer support for playing it alongside other mods, nor can I vouch for the overall gameplay experience should you decide to install other mods alongside it. Overall, BTSM is intended to provide a tight, balanced, focused gameplay experience, not a broad one, or one that is open to a large number of player options." So, I assumed (maybe incorrectly) that not all mods were compatible with each other. -
I guess I was concentrating on getting to orbit, I'm doing some of the suborbital stuff and getting science from the ground.

I was looking at your Umbra Space Industries mods. very nice, but is there a reason you aren't uploading to Curse? -

I don't have them, but I read about a few. If there aren't any, then great, and I won't have to do this. -
Being a newcomer to this game, the number of mods is rather overwhelming. Being a logical sort of person, I started to make a small matrix of various mods. This because some mods are apparently incompatible with each other. However, before I get too far, I'm wondering if there is interest in creating an overall matrix, showing what mods are compatible with each other. I'd be asking for input from people as to which mods they have installed with each other. Initially, to keep it simple, I would be doing it for two installed mods at a time only. I do realize that some mods require others, so those would be counted as a single mod for the purpose of this matrix. So, if you could answer the poll below, I'd appreciate it. The information I would be asking for (initially) would be something like: 1. Level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) 2. First mod name 3. Second mod name And along with that, a comment as to whether you would like your userid included in the list of contributers or not. From looking at Curse, it appears that most of the other information I would want to include in this is available there. If this has already been done, please let me know so I don't duplicate anyone else's work.

NJ as in New Jersey, yes. East Windsor. I'll work on more sub orbital flights, thanks.

This is the first good heavy lift ship I've made. This ship has the heavy lab on top. 203 parts. It is overpowered, I've successfully gotten 2 labs in orbit at once This is after playing the game for about 2 days, in science mode. I don't know how much this can lift, but it's a lot. it can get into escape velocity pretty easily. Here is the link to download, I'm putting up some pictures below. If you download it, when you launch it, press the space button 3 times, about 1 second apart. This was necessary to keep the initial blast from destroying the launch pad. The first stage consists of two sets of SRB. When the first set of SRBs finish (the outer ring), press the space to release them, then the space to release the second set. Looks kind of pretty, see below. Two things wrong. First, the ship seems to have some extra drag on one side, so it keeps tilting over. Engage SAS, and it will not tilt that much. The second is that for some reason, I needed to put two decoupling rings between the 2nd and 3rd stages, otherwise the ring would release the 2nd stage, but stay on as a shroud and not allow the third stage thrust to do anything. http://www./download/tsvl39wzmm3hj38/Heavy_Lift_5_Orbital_Vehicle.craft Here is a sequence of shots showing it on the pad and through the first few minutes of flight, starting with the launch pad. The last 2 pictures are showing the dual lab launch: Ignition: Clamp release: Ignition part 2: 1 second after liftoff: Right after 1st set of SRB seperation: Final 1st stage SRB seperation: Stage 2 Ignition. Notice the huge explosion when the exhaust hits the 1st stage SRBs: During 2nd stage thrust, from the other side: 1st part of 2nd stage SRB seperation: 3rd stage ignition. Looks messy, but if you wait about 5 seconds after SRB, they will be safely out of the way: 3rd stage by itself: 3rd stage seperation: After 1st decoupler right: After 2nd decoupler ring: 4th stage under power: 3 parachutes for a gentle landing: And finally, two shots showing the two labs going into orbit:

Thank you. I'm a bit stuck in the science track, seem to need a lot of science, but have gotten what I can. Obviously missing something, but what?

Got the game last night, have managed to (on the Science track) get into orbit and (safely) back down. Had some hilarious episodes, including my first launch when I triggered the chute at the same time as the rocket. Looking forward to having lots of fun.
