Whoa, the only bad part about it is the fact that it's a B-24 Liberator and not the almighty Flying Fortress. The joke that Fortress pilots said about the liberator went like this: "The Liberator is actually the crate that the B-17 was shipped in." EDIT: Oh yeah, you seem to have forgotten the waist guns and ball turret.

[SHOWCASE] Share Your Biplanes and Triplanes!

Yeeeessssss... I probably should mention that it is okay to post monoplanes here as long as they are from the prewar/WW1 era. Fokker Eindecker is a great plane to recreate, I tried to build one myself once, but I never finished. -

The Mark IV Tank is being... difficult. I [roved that it can, in fact, move, even with its wheels clipped inside the plates used for pretend tracks. Unfortunately, the tank's sides still look like they belong in a shantytown, and parts of the tank randomly fall off or crash into the runway. To test the tank's ability to cover rough terrain, I destroyed a segment of the runway. This is the tank after driving along the flat portion of the runway for a short distance. Ouch, that had to hurt. There is a full crew of five inside that tank, driver, commander, two main gunners, and a rear machine gunner, who, by the look of that smoke, just got decapitated or something by a plate of metal falling off. This isn't going to work. Good grief, it's terrifying! If the British had these garbage bin tanks at the Somme, the war would have been over then and there! About halfway through the test, something fell off, crashed into the tank, which spun around and the front armor plate fell off. By this time the machine gunner and one of the main gunners had been violently ejected from the gaping hole at the back of the tank. The commander and driver were also knocked out of their seats, but didn't go flying several meters into the air. I think I need moar struts. Once CommanderSpock (or anyone else) gets back with me on what he recommends for the sides, I'll redo those and strut the hell out of them. The driver and commander seats up front. The two main gunners and the engine, the camera is looking aft. The rear machine gunner has a little pit in the back behind the engine. The real Mark IV tank had eight crew members, but I couldn't find anywhere to put them! I respect the people who had to sit in these things and drive them around all day. Takes guts... -

Atlas II? -
As my new avatar and rank show, I have developed a love for vintage planes, namely early biplanes and triplanes from WWI and before. Many of the craft I build are modeled after this style. I haven't seen a showcase thread for this subject yet, so I decided to make one myself. Show us your biplanes, triplanes and other early 1900s era aircraft! Sopwith Pup: Bristol Boxkite (Converted into a glider) Can't wait to see what people decide to share!

I hate to admit it... But you've outdone my Typhoon. The submarine revolution has begun! Time to start working on an even bigger, even faster, even cooler sub! I know, an Alfa class!!

M... More... More jet engines... More... Jet engines... WHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! HELL YEAH! MOAR BOOSTERS!!!! It's about time they added more jet engines. Oh yeah, nice plane too, F-18s are cool, as are all carrier based fighters.

I think the wings need a little work, the rest looks good though!

Hmm, there is one thing that I may have forgotten to mention. When I launch the plane and glider for a mission, I always have the glider pilot disconnect and reconnect the winch, but in the "undocked" mode. This way, it counts the glider and plane as two separate craft, and control input on the tow plane will not affect the glider at all. I don't know exactly how this would help, but it's the only other thing I can think of. Thanks for the help and the pictures. I also thought about sending the glider to space and attempting to land it from orbit. I bet it would make an excellent Duna glider as well!

Funny... The tow plane climbs fine for me. What are the settings on the control surfaces? The ailerons on the wings should be set to roll only, and the elevators on the tail should be set to pitch only. What problems are you having with KAS? Is it missing certain parts, or is the winch just being really buggy? The undercarriage on the tow plane may be adding length to the takeoff run, maybe tricycle would perform better. Regarding power, I haven't seen any problems with it, the plane performs like an airliner. It's not supposed to be very maneuverable, but it gets up to a fairly decent speed when it tows the Boxkite. If you're using the stock versions, the problems may lie there. It has occurred to be that a hard connection (docking ports, decouplers, etc.) may mess up the aerodynamics of the aircraft, maybe that's what's wrong. Send me some photos of the problems if you can. They might help.

You have to put a Kerbal in the seat for control. I made it as minimalistic as I possibly could to make it such a good glider, so there isn't a probe core. There is a mod that allows you to directly spawn Kerbals in command seats, I would recommend using that. If you don't want to use any kind of mods, I would save the glider as a subassembly and attach it to the back of the tow plane, just like it is in the full version with the winch.

Probably not. I don't build tanks very often -

Thanks, what do you recommend? I plan on making an entire pack of WW1 tanks, does anyone have any suggestions? Currently slated to be built: Renault FT A7V Tsar tank Little Willie Yeah... uh... just so you know, the Tsar Tank is a little... special... My friend nearly spit out his drink when he saw this... thing... Good job, Czarist Russia! -

People here like tanks, right? Here ya go: It has an interior too, as is my usual custom: As soon as I can find a way to make the sides look better, I'll release it. it looks more like a Great Depression hobo shack than an armored killing machine. -
The individual downloads for the glider and tow plane are out! Sorry I took so long, real life must come first, after all. The DLs will be posted to the OP shortly. When you test these craft, be sure to take some pictures and upload them here! I'd love to see other people's adventures with them. You may get your screenshot featured on the OP!

I feel a strange obligation to post this: Very nice bus. Those radiators are turning out to be quite useful. -
Is there only one R-7 engine now? If the third stage engine is a different part, I think maybe it's texture ought to match the third stage fuel tank. It would make them easier to identify as well.

Is it possible to make a texture for your fairings that resembles your other work, with paneled sections and without that weird stripe that appears every meter or so? The fairing just looks out of place compared to the other textures.
