  1. I've heard that Mechjeb uses 180>-180, whereas KSP generally uses a 360 degree compass for inclination. I'm not sure about orientation, or how this interprets, but if I had to guess, I would say that the negative figures are south. Also, this is third hand, and I have no references or proof of correctness.. sooo pretty much disregard this post
  2. You're a madman! I love it. So is this going into production or are you keeping it all to yourself... Kits?
  3. My new favourite: Whoever the bright spark was that decided to put the tallest mountain on Kerbin right in the way of the western approach to the KSC runway... WHY!? edit: No actually I feel like having a bit of a rant about this.. As a learner, if you're de-orbiting a spaceplane, it's difficult enough, without this stupid mountain being right in the descent path ... If you happen to be coming in at night, it's near invisible. Whoever you are you are responsible for the death of Jebediah Kermin. Modders: Is it possible to move the mountain? I'd like a clear descent. editII: Sorry for the Necro, this isn't the thread I thought it was. editIII: nevermind that lol I was looking at join dates, not post dates.
  4. Yeah.. I've done this before. Got a mission all the way up to my 300km refueeling station, and spent 20 minutes thinking I was going insane because it just wouldn't dock, only to discover that one of my clampotron sr' was mounted back to front. They can be a bit ambiguous if you aren't paying 100% attention. The juniors not so much, it looks like yours are on the right way.
  5. I'm pretty average but I will have a go... I'll put some times up soon even if they're just for entertainment value.
  6. I use the proprietary nVidia Drivers, and everything works flawlessly. Just sayin.
  7. I like it, it's done it's job, and now I want to see it burn.
  8. My first spaceplane flight to orbit and back.
  9. I don't know why everyone doesn't dual-boot with Linux, for all your computing needs... I spend 99.9% of my time on Linux, only rarely ever boot the windows partition if I really have to i.e. some proprietary software that won't play nice in WINE, or recently to update my BIOS (only because it was simpler to do that in windows)... I probably wouldn't be playing KSP today if it wasn't linux compatible. The only game that I have that I can't play in Linux, is Skyrim (and honestly I probably could, with some mucking around) Not trying to start an OS flame war, I hate those, but yeah... Linux does it for me. KSP is a mega bonus.

You are the Kraken! Or Quintessence...
  11. Here ya go Wanderfound, my first ever spaceplane voyage, and I survived! In the Alkahest. Good pick it was very nice and easy to fly after the Kerbotrainer! Unfortunately, I have a flag on my runway but for whatever reason in map view it was blacked out and I couldn't target it, and I missed KSC by a whole continent, but still managed to land undamaged on the side of a mountain.. Very satisfied... Thanks for the help.
  12. That's some of the loosest shtuff I've seen. Whoever piloted that was a lunatic.
  13. SO! I finally managed a loop n land! (After 3 or 4 touch n go's) Where I was going wrong was; too much throttle. Basically have to drop the throttle to about 5% straight after takeoff, and feather it for manoeuvres. Turn it off BEFORE I start my descent loop and wash speed in the turn to around 100m/s... I think I've got this now. If I get a bit gung-ho on the throttle the wings will let me know, by leaving the party. With that said, it feels strange that such a small plane would be so difficult to slow down on the runway. It takes nearly 3/4 of the strip to stop with the brakes locked. It's freaking me out thinking of getting a large one stopped. With the PID adjustment, I'm not seeing any adjustment for 'clamp'. There's Kp Ki Kd and Scalar.. Is Scalar 'clamp'?
  14. By 'touch the stick' I mean the analogue stick on an xbox controller. I get better fine control that way, and have been able to fly somewhat more successfully than I could using the keys. I was using the capslock function with keys. I have the sensitivity set to 'numb' which means I can perform pitch adjustments very smoothly. It seems quite random, as sometimes I can do a proper balls-out manoeuvre without having a problem, only for the wings to come off while I'm going relatively straight or make a small adjustment the G-forces will spike into the red and kaboom. It's pretty frustrating... I'm sorry to be spamming your thread with this honestly, but you seem knowledgable and have helped.
