are there even images? In the KerbalX link I see that it is twelve parts. That seems way small

The massive Ice comet theory has some holes. One, it should sublimate off into space at kerbins orbital height. This means the minmus must be very new, and not completely gone yet (If it is Ice). If this impact occurred that recently, all of kerbalkind would be dead, even if they where underground. The surface would be entirely swept clean of all life, and evoloution would be set back far enough for the re-evouloution of trees to take enough time for mimnimus to melt.

I made some cutouts of continents so we can try to fit them together: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xdnl5te9jmv2ift/AAAw9h09p0Vff_1MlyACjyNHa?dl=0

I already have a sub. it is incedibly simple, all you need is a few full ore tanks on a probe core SAS wheel and RTGs. Landing legs if you are afraid of sinking too fast.
-
We could consider whether or not it formed by the same hotspots as the island runway islands if we know which direction they formed.
-
I landed a remote tech relay there in early game so I can get closer pictures if we want them
-
I belive atolls form is the same way. Perhaps the island is very old and the plate is moving quickly, so the hotspot the island formed from has moved to a position where it is no longer identifiable as the source?
-
My idea on the island formation is that it is collapsed ancient volcano. Kind of like Krakatoa. The higher sides are the remanants of the sides, rounded with erosion.

I'm actually a proponent of the "The icecaps should be moving" group, just throwing things out.

What are you seeing?
-
~5% I have had 200 Kerbals over the course of my Sandbox RP save with no revert/quicksave, and only 10 have died. They are honoured by naming missions after them.
-
Perhaps its snow on rock? That is somehow verticlly cut smoothly

You see, each jet can use a certain amount of intake air. any intake air above this is wasted, therefore intake spam will not help. If you want to know why this is, ask about air-hogging.

I looked at it with a sub today. Here is where my rocket landed: http://imgur.com/41iuKnO Here is the sub pressed against the 'Wall' (the island has nearly vertical sides) http://imgur.com/WFIjhJV Here is the sub on the bottom: http://imgur.com/4ZmX1SI For some reason, when on the bottom if I position the camera too close the bottom, the terrain disappears: http://imgur.com/5GdOGJY

Yep norrisbro guy can we please not have nation maps here?
-
The islands that are along the green line farthest to the left on the boundary map And the second lowest line.
-
The 'Japan' islands could actually be the intersection of several plates. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geology_of_Japan The main island would have began to the right of the pensiula directly above, while the rest of the islands would go the left. this is just raising another possibility, I don't really care wether it's legit.
-
The farthest Down line was actually a very nice find. Now that I see it stretching to the right is fairly visible
-
How about 'coast crater'? Or maybe designations?

Having just got back from a week-long jungle trek in Sabah, I finally got a chance to look a kerbins geology. Speaking of geology, in Sabah there are these weird little hills (actually bumps on mountains, because we where in the highlands) with water on the tops. According to the locals they have been there forever, and because there has never been a large civilization in Sabah that would need irrigation on that scale, they are probably natural. Interesting little factoid. looking a kerbalmaps it turns that there is a tiny straight separating kerbins two oceans. Whoever controlled that wold have more diplomatic negotiating power that they could ever use.

In part I think the problem is that the can sticks out, but is still protected.
-
I use them. If I have extra lift capacity, I will usually put on a comm sat. One of the parts in it is modes to have a large negative cost, so I make $. I get my freind to send me sat designs and I force myself to use those.

Friction. Gears getting caught based upon weight:gear ratio, not the fact that they exist.
