maybe there could be a few diffrent bars, that when you reached X level in one or two or three (depending on the part, one level could result in a higher completion level than other levels.), It would unlock the ability to invest funds in devlop a new part. Levels could be: Aircraft Deep space close orbit nuclear manned spaceflight electronics planetoid operations.

PS: how do you get leading edge flaps to work well? Whenever I try them, the plane just crashes. Facing either up or down.

This things devlopment meant that the USAF could have stopped strapping nothing but captured russian rocketpods to hueys with duct tape and firing with a switch stolen from the lighting system spare parts back a base. But they didn't.

It seems very cool, but the 1.25m section looks kinda wonky. If you want aesthetics, I would recommend a compound core. But it might mess with the thrust and mass ratios between the stages.

I find that with KAX it is best to clip two kuey rotors together to get decent thrust and four blades.

you are probably using the adjustable ramp intakes or whatever they are called now. The hypersonic radials. use the turbofan intake. or the big radial scoop.
