Heck, I'm known for making stock craft, but I have a RO install too with like 70 mods and no remaining unmodified stock parts.
-
I have made posted many craft with (stock) or similar in their title, because the old forum software had predefined [STOCK] and [MOD] tags for threads in the spacecraft exchange, so I put them on both out of habit, and because it lets someone who is looking for a craft to know whether they will have to install mods to load it. I personally run about 10-20 mods, mostly aesthetic, gameplay enhancing, or editor modifying with maybe one or two parts mods. Most people who post craft to the spacecraft exchange will post craft with only stock parts, for two reasons: With stock parts, anyone can use the craft with a minimum of fuss. It creates a challenge by being limited in what parts you have. I don't feel like anyone who posts a stock craft to the exchange is trying to be elitist, rather, that they are trying to clearly show what kind of craft they have.

Realism Overhaul Discussion Thread
Mad Rocket Scientist replied to NathanKell's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
As @Karamon says, SMURFF. For a smaller RSS, you'll have to use a Kerbol system rescale mod like x64 or a similar one. There's also ROmini, which makes parts larger rather then lighter: https://github.com/KSP-RO/RealismOverhaul/blob/master/ROMini.cfg -
No, I never did. The textures didn't really match anything, the adapters to other form factors were at best ugly, and the cockpit IVA was a bad placeholder. Still though, the pictures people are posting are making me kind of nostalgic for them.

Is there anything the game lets you do that you won't?
Mad Rocket Scientist replied to Red Shirt's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I try to do everything that the game will allow me to do, except I will go to extreme lengths to make my craft look nice and realistic. Do you play Rimworld? -
Yay! Great to see this back, I've missed it.

That looks amazing! Especially that centaur. I like the rover body too. The Atlas V first stage is covered in an orange insulation foam, like on the shuttle. Ice forms on the upper part of it, where the oxygen tank is. The fuel is RP-1, so no ice forms on the lower part. This is what an Atlas V looks like before the ice has formed: And after:

Is there any chance that the surprises will be posted for everyone to see after the end of the three weeks?
-
Here's what I see on the affected users: Win10 Chrome: I can only see HoloYolo's avatar. Firefox: I can only see Gasrst's and HoloYolo's avatar. Edge: I cannot see any avatars.

You're welcome. Thanks for putting it in you signature!

I made some large changes to it, including removing the post counter and pips, removing the star rating on threads, and removing the rep counter properly. I've uploaded it to userstyles, here's the link: https://userstyles.org/styles/135771/norep
-
This should remove the rep counter. Paste this into an empty sytlish style, save, and enable for forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com: .ipsRepBadge { color: #5f7a47; background-color: #5f7a47; } .ipsRepBadge_positive { color: #5f7a47; background-color: #5f7a47; } It's very quick and dirty, just changing the background color to the same as the rep text color, and it might not work on browsers other than chrome, if it doesn't work let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Hi new to the game, looking for some tips.
Mad Rocket Scientist replied to Nathangun's topic in Welcome Aboard
I don't play much career or science, so I don't know about contract mods. However, here's some of my favorite parts and visual mods: These two have not been updated to 1.2.1 yet: -
Nice looking little plane! I'm not sure I've seen a VTOL with that many Junos before.
