  1. It works quite fine, I just put it in the Gamedata as usual. I actually tried to use the welding mod but it mostly resulted in big messes and I've only gotten them to work with stock parts.
  2. Continuing some more WW2 aircraft project; I don't know what i'll do with them exactly, if i'll release them. First off, a carrier-based fighter (For now the carrier is basically a flat board with a undetailed hull that lists over in 5 minutes). Second, I built a carrier naval bomber that borrows heavily from the B6N and can definitely carry more than the real thing. Last is a ship based off the Blackburn Firebrand and performs quite well, again capable of carrier landing (although my piloting skills generally give the plane a 1 in 5 chance of landing on the runway—most of my failures tend to come from landing short, but as long as that board gets touched it'll land safely).
  3. Episode 18 of Series 7 with a bang with a good idea for the RDF's eventual plans, the recruiting of another kerbal into the Asteroid Destroyer plot, and testing of the Mark 2 backup!I've gotten the Kerbal Hacks mod and given my kerbals some interesting tools, given the implied fact that this is in a somewhat more future-ish era. I'd love some feedback, especially on character development, what you think of these plans, and of course i would welcome other ones types too!
  4. I managed to balance out the corvette that I was talking about and have it a more reasonable displacement/draft. I then flew a Fairey Swordfish-like plane and hit the ship with a torpedo. The hit caused some damage, but nothing that could sink it by itself, which is why I turned off the pumps in the hit area (it sank). I then tested out some other aircraft with AirplanePlus and managed to create a propeller plane that could carry 2,000 kg of bombs, reach at least 9 km, and fly at 180 m/s. It's main issue is fuel consumption (the Bumblebee engine uses extremely high amounts of fuel). It can glide for 74 km from an altitude of 8 kilometers. I then took the design and turned it into a more fighter type design, with a more efficient engine, yet still capable of similar speeds, high maneuverability, and a 750 kg bomb payload.
  5. Mine is from Late 2012, so that is quite likely the main reason behind my laptop having the capability to load these ships. Though such a scene would certainly be around 2000+ parts...
  6. Episode 17 is out! This is essentially a part II of episode 16 and will follow up on what happens next in space and for Gus...Please leave feedback for this series! Constructive criticism is dearly welcome and helps me improve this series (especially when I'm in a situation like now when i don't really know what to do for the next episode).
  7. Especially during the upcoming episodes, I would greatly appreciate finding potential holes in the plan Bill brought up as well as the RDF's (master) plans. I've also wondered what you think of the characters.
  8. I tried out a these two "corvettes" that I built. For whatever reason 1.2 has been acting weird and the saves keep disappearing (the file is there, but I can't play it, and I can make new ones but they disappear if I restart the game), so I went back to 1.1.3. The ships open fire! The "attacker" corvette takes some damage to the superstructure. One of the ships switches to its secondary batteries (they shoot quicker but they do less damage). One ammunition box takes a hit and explodes, which causes one of the ships to sink, but by destroying the ballast tanks I was able to refloat the ship.Eventually the ship (the defender) takes another serious hit and sinks (though it manages to stay afloat thanks to the thrust of the engine. While the attacker managed to survive the battle mostly unscathed, it took a heavy hit from the sinking wreck of the defender, resulting in serious damage.Analysis: The corvettes work rather well, but the ships swing wildly when turning and lose a lot of speed. Their secondaries are of questionable value though. The main flaw has to be the fact that the aft floating is mainly due to the ammunition boxes, and since they explode quite easily, the ships need to be less dependent on it.
  9. I'd like some more thoughts and ideas for The Asteroid Sentinels, such as tying up loose ends and answering unanswered questions. Again, I've sort of got an idea for how to progress the things on Kerbin but on the Asteroid Destroyer I'm still a bit stuck. I want the crew to do something, but I don't know what that is. I also want to give Valentina's thoughts out like I did with Bill and Jeb but I don't have a good idea for what those might be... I feel like she doesn't have much motive/complexity as well...
  10. Here is the 16th episode of Series 7! What happens next? Give me your thoughts, and feedback!
  11. Finished the general script for the next episode! For one thing, we'll finally get back to the good (really?) kerbals on the Asteroid Destroyer!
  12. Sadly the launch appears to have failed. Telemetry was lost 20 seconds into the firing of the first stage for a planned 31 second burn. http://spaceflight101.com/ss-520-4-rocket-launches-on-experimental-mission/
  13. There are after all, two sides of the same story. The interesting thing about all of this is that a reader of the Real Deal will have a completely different sense of reality than that of a viewer of the KNN, and in the end no one will know what "actually" happened.
  14. Here is the next episode of The Asteroid Sentinels! Thanks for reading! I would very much enjoy some thought and discussion about the series.
  15. What do you think of the meeting parts where all the KSC crew get together for some choices (like in the newest episode)? Does that sort of help who the characters are?
  16. For The Asteroid Sentinels i've managed to write the past few episodes without too much trouble; the problem is that I've sort of run out of ideas of what to write. I've got ideas for when the spacecraft nears the asteroid, but there seems to be a point from now to that point. Of course the third backup is worth mentioning but work on it probably isn't going to be much. One problem is that I've wondered where to take the KSP/KNN vs RDF conflict. I would also like put more detail and information about the RDF. The KSP decided what to do with how to try to get Walt, but I feel like there should be more than just that. Another problem is with the kerbals in space; I think there should be more interaction and talking, but I don't know what. Basically, I want to develop their character. I also want to cover the perspective of the kerbals in general, and not just the RDF, that is.
  17. The War Room assembles to debate two issues: Saving Walt Kerman, and ideas for the next backup probes. A splinter of the RDF on the other hand...
  18. Here's the "title crawl" for any new readers wanting to read the newer series quicker. I originally planned on having the crawl summarize Series 5 as well, but I decided that it would be too long; I ended up with Series 1-4 instead. I've also reformatted the first post to be more relevant.
  19. Not the KNN news things, those will be here to stay! By title crawl I was thinking like Star Wars kind of title crawl, in case there were new readers who wanted to jump to Series 5/6/7 instead of reading the older ones (which aren't quite like the current ones).
  20. Without any feedback I'm considering working on the title crawl thing for those reading Series 6/7 only, but what do you think? Thanks for reading!
