  1. What's the point in modifying the orbital values of a mod called Real Solar System to make this mod fit in it? You should have called it Unreal Solar System Expanded .. I was planning to use it to redo realistic missions, that's quite a disappointment.
  2. This kind of trajectory is very complex, I can tell you are trying to redo the Cassini mission. The Cassini spacecraft did a very long deep-space maneuver before the 2nd Venus flyby. When you install RSS, you install also Kopernicus which follows the real calendar, so a good day to launch would be the 15th of October 1997. If you want to see the real date in KSP you can install RSS date formatter. Anyway as I was saying, Cassini and many other spacecrafts did correction maneuvers before the gravity assists and KSPTOT multi fly-by finder doesn't calculate this. So my suggestion is to take a mission timeline (Wikipedia has a very nice page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Cassini–Huygens) and follow it step by step. Also http://dmuller.net/ has a lot of useful information about all the past and present missions. If you look for Gravity Assist Trajectories to the Outer Planets on Google you will find a lot of PDF documents reporting list of possible launch widows for multi-flyby missions. And http://trajbrowser.arc.nasa.gov/traj_browser.php is a useful trajectory browser by NASA.
  3. You can use any cylindrical cargo bay and rescale it to 3.75 with Tweakscale.
  4. I use both RemoteTech with signal delay and Mechjeb. I use MJ to land probes still keeping the connection active (most of my probes are carried by a spacecraft that keeps orbiting the body and working as relay for the probe). I also find the signal delay a must, an example: you need to gather science in a specific point of your orbit around a body, but on that point there is no connection because there is the body you are orbiting between you and Mission Control. Let's say the signal delay is 5 min.. you can tell the spacecraft to do science 5 minutes before you reach that point and if 5 minutes are not enough you can add further delay to the command. Besides that I like the signal delay because it's like real space exploration and well who doesn't like that here ;)?
  5. Hello everyone! I'm having a little issue when I execute maneuvers with the RemoteTech Flight Computer in Realism overhaul. Most of the engines are unthrottleable and they can be only cut off, so when the Flight Computer ends the maneuver it tries to throttle down but the engine of course doesn't stop. So I was wondering is there any workaround for this problem? Not using RemoteTech is not an option Thank you in advance!
  6. Some of the pictures I have taken with the Kassini spacecraft, orbiting around Sarnus in my career game. The spacecraft has an on board Telescope/Camera Here's the spacecraft taking a picture of Slate, its shadow on Sarnus atmosphere and Eloo. Here's the picture: Ovok orbiting over the rings of Sarnus: Tekto: And a close-up image of Tekto's surface:
  7. Thank you for everything! I still remember your post in Orbiter Forum that let me know this beautiful game I wish you the best of luck
  8. The best tool you can use to plan such kind of mission is KSP Trajectory Optimization Tool. I'm using it since a year and I've been able to redo missions like Messenger, Cassini, Juno and Voyager 2 all thanks to this tool. In my career I use Outer Planets Mod and Trans Keptunian Objects and I never go to this planets without having a gravitational assist from Jool. Using this tool in combination with the node editor of Mechjeb makes you able to plan these mission with absolute precision. Here's a screenshot of KSP Tot while i'm planning a Juno-like mission:

  10. Kerbonauts are not only Pilots, Engineers or Scientists
  11. Hello! I'm having a problem since the release of 1.5.2. I use Outer Planets Mod and Transkeptunian Object. When I try to load the bodies file I have created with ksp tot connect the bodies loading freezes and I hear a warning sound but not message and the loading stops at 10/1230. Here's the Ksptot.log: The version 1.5.1 doesn't give me this problem. Thanks for making such a great tool! Regards, Epox
  12. I always go for Outer Planets Mod it blends better with the game in my opinion. Kopernicus is not actually a planetary mod but a system modifier which basically every planetary mod uses. Anyway if you look for a stockalike system similar to our solar system, then I suggest you to use Outer Planets Mod with Transkeptunian Objects for outer dwarf planets and Custom Asteroids for asteroids and comets close to the orbit of Jool.
  13. KAPOLLO 1 is the first Kerballed Munar landing mission of my umpteenth career. I chose this name because I took some technical inspiration from the Apollo Mission while building the rocket. The Word Kapollo can be interpreted as Kerbal Apollo or Kind of Apollo.. it doesn't make much difference Anyway,,,, Here's THE ROCKET! Standing on the Launchpad in all its glory WE HAVE LIFTOFF! 2nd Stage 3rd Stage Escape Tower Separation: KAPOLLO 1 is now in low Kerbin orbit and go for TMI Trans Munar Injection - We have Ignition! Trans Munar Injection complete. KAPOLLO I is on its way to the Mun: Drum roll... We have 3rd stage and lander separation: Docking in progress.... Docking complete! Munar Orbit Insertion KAPOLLO I is now in Low Munar Orbit Kerbonaut Jebediah Kerman moved into the lander can and we have separation: Deorbit Maneuver: Almost there... A small jump for a Kerbal (I couldn't step sorry, I forgot the ladder) a giant leap for Kerbalkind! Experiments are done, the flag is planted... everything is GO for ignition: Lift off! Astronaut Jebediah Kerman is now in Low Munar Orbit again, waiting for the rendezvou with the KSM piloted by Kerbonauts Valentina and Bob Kerman Docking in progress: Docking Complete and Kerbonaut Jebediah Kerman returned to the KSM safe and sound / Return Burn in progress (Sorry i made this picture at the end of the burn... thrust was very low and plume is barely visible ) Goodbye Mun! Lander Separation Kerbin is very close now the Kerbonauts are GO for the reentry procedure: KSM separation Reentry burn in progress! You can see the separated stage exploding in the background Reentry Burn completed: Parachutes Deployed.... Touchdown! The Kerbonaut team returned to Kerbin safe and sound. KAPOLLO 1 mission was a great success! Thank you for your time everyone! I hope you liked it! Epox
  14. Testing the Boxsat Mini Lander on Minmus. Mission Successful!
  15. Some Gravity Assist show off Eve to Moho Jool to Sarnus (Outer Planets Mod) and Jool to Oorma (Trans-Keptunian Mod) Outer Dwarf Planet... 6 Years of Travel! (Earth Time)
  16. Hi Hyomoto, the mods we have in common are: Chatterer, Distant Object, KIS, KAS, KerbalEngineer, Planetshine, TextureReplacer. At the moment I rolled back to the previous version and everything works fine again.
  17. I'm having this graphical glitch since I've installed the version 1.05-4. I never had this problem with all the previous releases of E.V.E. I play on Windows 10, with Half Res Texture quality. Other settings are SM3 Terrain Shader and Terrain Scatter off. 2x Antialiasing, Pixel Light Count 8, Shadow Cascades 4, PPFX on Surface FX on and Underwater FX on. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  18. MINMUS VII: my 3rd kerbaled mission on Minmus... it's a deep philosophical moment for Jeb, while he is trying to look at his world from a different perspective.
  19. Upgrading the Kubble Space Telescope with 2nd generation wide field processor and reaction wheel... and testing it on the Mun
  20. Hello everybody! I decided to open a new Youtube channel, calling it KASA (Kerbal Aeronautic and Space Administration) with the intent of post several videos mostly about unmanned ehm... unkerbaled exploration. My plan is to post, blueprints of my probes and rockets as well video footage from the spacecrafts themselves. I will approach exploration gradually and release a video for each mission i'll do providing also science data. My intent is to use also black and white cameras / videos until i reach a certain point in this exploration path. Anyways, here's my first KASA video, thanks for watching and I hope you like it!
  21. Hello everyone! I wanted to make a flyby video.. hope you like it! Kariner 2 was the first robotic probe to successfully perform an Eve flyby. Launched on Year 2 Day 151, Kariner 2 flew by Eve on Year 2 Day 300 sending back to Kerbin the first black and white pictures of the planet's thick layer of clouds. Note: Eve is not purple due to stock recolor mod from Sigma88.
  22. FYI. I think the installation of this mod makes CKAN not working anymore because it replaces the README.txt in the main KSP directory (CKAN uses a readme.txt in the main KSP directory to check the version of the game). I was wondering why such a nice mod wasn't listed in CKAN. Maybe that's the reason?
  23. That also depends on the rocket I build. This one, for instance, was flipping on staging when I was trying to turn earlier. I usually start to turn at 10km apoapsis. You have also to consider that I do a direct orbit insertion, without turning the engines off and doing that unrealistic burn at the apoapsis. Anyway the average Dv I use to enter in orbit around kerbin is 4100.
  24. Wow thanks! I really like your mods, I've made another video about Voyager 2 with your OPM expansion pack
