  1. Why hasn't anybody thought of this before now?! This is great! Well done! Happy Flying YargJay9991
  2. Basically, everyone's KSP lags with large ships. It's just the limitations of KSP. KSP 1.1 "should" fix that. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  3. No that shouldn't have solved it.... Stage lock has nothing to do with flight controls. Holding Alt and then pressing the WASDQE keys does something called trimming. If you what that is I suggest looking into it. It really helps with flying tricky aircraft that the SAS can't fly properly. Did you restart the game at all between your two posts? If so I think that my have solved it. Restarting KSP tends to solve most little problems. Anyway, it doesn't really matter now that the problem's gone, so I shouldn't really post here. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  4. Yep, me too. KSP is limited to using a max of 3.8 Gb before it crashes. It can only utilise a single processing thread as well, which I believe means you can barely use all of your computer's resources to help the game. The next update should help with this big problem. The game is updgrading to Unity 5, which allows for multi-thread processing and has 64 bit support. This should mean you can use all of those 16gb of RAM to run KSP. My advice would be to wait until the update and then see what happens. That's what I'm doing Happy Flying YargJay9991
  5. You know you're a nerd when you one day decide to put your own face on every single character in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer just so you can say you were in a Star Wars movie..... Animation, lip syncing, color correction. The whole works using After Effects CC: Awesome......... Happy Flying YargJay9991 (PS Yes... that is my face on Han Solo's head)
  6. Can you describe how you got to that Save button? A couple of screenshots of the menu might help too. KSP uses something called a quick save process. This does save the game in a way, but may not save game progress etc. It simply saves a moment in time for you to go back to using the quick save loading system (either through the load menu or pressing F9) Welcome to the forums BTW and good luck with your bug/problem. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  7. Have you tried BD armoury's new AI wingmen? It is actually designed for aircraft formations and works relatively great. Looks cool @selfish_meme!
  8. It looks like you've tried in the past to reset your password. Here's a few things I can think of. Look through your emails and see if there is an old one about passwords from KSP. Make sure you're looking in the right inbox (that's happened to me before ) Also, what exactly happens after you click the link? That bits unclear at this stage. Hope that helps. YargJay9991
  9. You know... Something similar to this would be awesome for IVA, it would make cinematic a way more interesting. I love using this mod, even though I don't make videos.... Anyone else think so? Happy Flying YargJay91
  10. You're gonna be waiting a while... I'm actually pretty sure that KSP already has a red and blue 3D setting, I'm pretty sure I used it once and it worked pretty good. I'm not entirely sure as it was ages ago when I (possibly) did it. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  11. Also, don't use the included patcher. It did this for me a while ago. Always install new updates in a different folder to the previous ones you had on the computer. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  12. AFAIK, Fly to pos makes the wingmen fly to and orbit a selected coordinate. I believe Attack pos means they fire at craft or anything around the selected position, dive bombing etc. @BahamutoD please allow the coordinate selection to work in map view! I think it would be really handy to carry out longer, furthur flights so you don't have to sit there and fly the thing manually. An airliner autopilot system wouldn't be bad either. Add waypoints along a route and have the AI pilot fly to those points and orbit the last one. The AI has a lot of potential for non-military aircraft as well. Love be the new wingmen system too! Awesome... Happy Flying YargJay9991
  13. This thread's a year old, it won't work in any KSP version anyway. Posting in an old thread is actually not allowed here. Hey @sal_vager, I don't think we need this anymore.... Check with @eorin first though, it's his thread. YargJay9991
  14. Double check if you have the latest version. If you run an old version of KSP you won't be able to open craft built in the latest version. If you know it's a stock craft built with the latest version and you are running an older version, open up it's .craft file and change the KSP version the .craft file to match your's. This may not work for you because it's a version problem, whereas your's looks like a parts problem, but still give it a try to make sure everything's still in order. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  15. Hmm... I have a similar problem. Interested to know what's happening here. However I think 1.1 will solve most problems like this. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  16. Ok, to be honest no I haven't tried pWings. I guess I just don't like mods that have procedural parts in them. I don't mind the fairings being procedural, but wings would be to much for me. It just would feel kerbal at all IMO. I really only like building stock aircraft replicas in KSP so pWings sound like cheating to me. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  17. I hate to bust bubbles but NOOOOOOOOOO!!! This is only my personal opinion, please take no offense. I just don't like the idea at all about procedural wings. It's a thing for mods to do not stock KSP, in my opinion. Again, I do not mean anything personal or for it to be an attack, I'm just putting my 2 cents worth in the discussion. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  18. I like the idea of tags, things like Stock, Modded, Craft Pack, Lander, Rover, Launcher, Orbiter, SSTO, Aircraft, Replica, Request and other things wouldn't hurt. Seperating the requests and craft would help to I think. More and more of these simple requests pop up and it takes ages to filter through them to find what you want. A WIP area wouldn't go a miss either. Happy Flying YargJay9991 EDIT: Ninja'd you @Fearless Son!
  19. Hey everyone! I'm glad you all like it. @Rune, the truth is I don't really build rockets or even go to space much anymore, so spacecraft actually don't appeal to me anymore. They don't give me as much of a buzz as nice looking planes do, so that's why there wasn't any spacecraft featured this week, because of my preferences. I understand how you feel, and I probably should include more spacecraft in the future. Hope this clears that up. @Azimech I've updated the OP with your third album now Happy Flying everyone! YargJay9991
  20. Hello and welcome to the next edition of Spacecraft Friday! I absolutely love seeing amazing stock craft that both look good and do good. This week features some stunning looking craft as well as some WIP designs, just to be a bit different! So without further ado, please sit back and enjoy the feature craft of the week. NOTE: Don't sit back to far or you won't be able to reach the mouse. _____________________________________________________ | KDS Junco Bush Plane | by @RixKillian First up, a very clean and rather beautifully designed bush plane by RixKillian. The parts all line up beautifully and it's flight characteristics are very much like what I would imagine the real life plane to have. RixKillian also included a design that has skis. Perfect for the lands of Antractica! __________________________________________________ ____________________ | Stock Tank Track WIP | by @Majorjim Now this is definitely an unusual feature in that it is a work in progress design. This is certainly a KSP first, using ONLY stock parts to make a working tank tread. Using his own Thermometer bearing, Majorjim made individual tread "links" and put them into one big chain! He is currently working on making them move reliably. Nice one MJ! (See thread for a video) __________________________________________________ ____________________ |Functional LCVP (Landing Craft) Replica| By @RixKillian This one caught my attention because of the great looks and clever functions. The craft has a working stock landing ramp, using MajorJim's thermometer bearing, that allows you load and offload vehicles like his own jeep. This is an excellent piece of KSP engineering and the second featured craft from RixKillian this week! You're on a roll Rix! _____________________________________________________________________ | Heinkel 219 Uhu | By @Azimech This is an amazing craft from Azimech. It is very well built and designed and packs loads of features including detailed engines (with cowlings) and a beautifully modeled cockpit. Kudos Azimech! _______________________________________________ ____________________ | US Army Jeep | by @selfish_meme Now, I don't normally go for rovers or cars. But this US Army Jeep by selfish_meme really gets me. The aesthetics are absolutely bang on and it is a really great example of how beautiful KSP can be. The latest version includes a gun to blow everything up. (NOTE: Working gun not included) Well done selfish_meme! _________________________________________________________ | Axial/Swashplate Piston Engines | By @Azimech (again ) Although still a WIP, Azimech's piston engines just couldn't be left out of this SCF. This thing is an absolute marvel of engineering and must have taken ages to build! Well done Azi for your second feature this week! ____________________________________________________ | USS Monitor and CSS Virginia | By @pTrevTrevs And now onto the final craft. Well, it's actually two but hey... pTrevTrevs has done an exceptional job re-creating these vintage ironclad ships, and I bet his computer loves him now too. Very nice work pTrevTrevs! ___________________________________________ So there we have it. Another excellent week in the Spacecraft Exchange. Thankyou all for taking the time to read this, and I hope you have enjoyed looking at all the amazing craft showcased here today. Please let me know what you think of this edition, and if there is anything that you think could be improved, please kindly let me know. Thanks to all of the builders who's craft made it here, and to those who may not have made it in. These choices were my personal opinion and the ones that I thought deserved to be showcased. Thanks again and HAPPY FLYING! YargJay9991
  21. No worries @MadRocketScientist. Looking forward to it. I'll have to do it tomorrow (which is Saturday for me), as I'm out all day today. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  22. Woah man! 1000 parts would make any computer cry. Even with the best computer, KSP is very restricted in terms of performance. It can only use a single processing thread and if you use any more than 4GB of RAM, KSP will crash. Apparently this will be fixed in the next update but apart from bumping all your graphics settings down, there's not much you can do. Unfortunately, this happens to every one who plays KSP and every has asked the question, which is why 1.1 is probably the most looked forward to update. Welcome to the forums and may the kraken give you a fair amount of distance! Happy Flying YargJay9991
  23. There is an unlike button, you just have to like a post first Starts at 4pm here... Oh well Happy Flying YargJay9991 HYPED FOR 1.1!
  24. I don't think we need procedural wings. That's too easy for KSP. Happy Flying YargJay9991
  25. I've been playing since 0.18.4. That's a while ago!
