Kosmo(..), can you spare a .craft file for that?

Will this game always be for physics majors?

ROFL!!!! -
You missed the last 'L' in my name. haha

I think he\'s been offline since last night. He hasn\'t updated the probe spot ever since I made that achievement.

First person to land on the Minmus, and get Back! [Video]
VincentMcConnell replied to Tim_Barrett's topic in KSP1 Discussion
LOL. I\'m sure someone will beat me to it. I feel like Buzz Aldrin now, though... Why am I being called a rendezvous expert? Alright. I\'ll work on it. I\'ll ask Kosmo if he can write up the distance to intercept for me. If not, I may have to calculate it by myself. EDIT-- Placing my target vehicle into a 100KM orbit around Minmus. I\'ll send the docking craft up once I align my plane to 0 degrees at 100KM circularized. Glad I brought RCS. I should complete the rendezvous tomorrow as I\'ll be going to bed in less than an hour. Hopefully nobody beats me to it, but I don\'t think they will. Most people don\'t have the patience for rendezvous. Hm. Found a problem already. Orbiting Minmus at 100KM is enough to escape it\'s SOI and get on a Kerbin escape trajectory. Which means rendezvous has to be a LOT lower, and thus, not as much time warp potential. I\'m guessing it could take a really long time to do rendezvous around Minmus because of these limitations, I will still try it, but because of the difficulties involved, it is not my number one priority. And I think Kosmo-Not deserves it. He was the one whose calculations made it possible for me to make the first Lunar Orbit Rendezvous. I did it so early in 14.0 that if anyone did it before me, they never posted about it. And because of the accomplishment, I highly doubt anybody would not claim that achievement if they made it first. Take a look at my LOR post and judge for yourself based on previous posts if I was the first to do it. I honestly don\'t know. Regardless, I may sit this 'first' out and give it to someone else simply because of how long it will take to rendezvous at a lower orbit. Maybe not. I will try it tomorrow at 30KM, but I don\'t want to have to sit and wait for three hours just for one rendezvous. -
First person to land on the Minmus, and get Back! [Video]
VincentMcConnell replied to Tim_Barrett's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yeah. Like the first Munar Orbit Rendezvous I did. I still think I may have been the first to do it. I was actually just thinking about Mimus orbit rendezvous, but it takes too long and it\'s not worth it. I just landed the first probe on Minmus, though. I\'m still waiting for Dalfite to update the leaderboard. -
Pre-Munar Landing Anonymous - A support group

Kosmo-Not, you are actually to thank for my first fully stock Mun mission. I agree with you. This guy should go all stock first. -
First Probe to land on Minmus Shortly before 10:40PM, PST, May 17th, 2012, Surveyor I landed on Minmus as the first unmanned probe to soft land upon its surface. I was racing for my spot in the leaderboards, regardless of whether the OP secures proof from the person who allegedly beat me to an engine bell landing. EDIT To prove it is really Minmus, following controversy over an achievement I believe I earned, here is a photo in daytime. You can see the more green surface. Also, in case anyone is wondering why the shadow looks separate from the probe, it is because in this landing spot, most of the probe falls through the ground. So to prove it was an unmanned style probe, I took off about 2 inches above the surface for a more contact looking photo. Here is how it looks when it\'s fallen through.

He is still listed as first without lander legs. It\'s only fair that he proves he landed before 5:13PST by the use of a screen shot. His post was at 8 something you said. I proved that my landing was only shortly after 5. I am still waiting for your response to this.
-
Kosmo-Not has a message from me from a little after 5\'o clock that would prove I landed before then. Also, my screenshots of Minmus were taken at 5:13. I was a little bit off, actually. I landed shortly after 5PM. Here\'s a screenshot to prove it was 'created' in that folder at 5:13. From the time of screenshot 1 to all the others was in a matter of less than two minutes. The landing was very quick since I burned at the last second. My descent rate was very quick until just before touchdown. I think this should be sufficient proof.
-
At exactly what time did that landing occur?
-
Sure. It really isn\'t a big deal. The landing was even easier than landing on the Mun to be honest... The gravity is only 37% and you need barely any thrust and don\'t have to burn until the last second. I\'m the first person to land on Minmus without using landing legs ahah

First person to land on the Minmus, and get Back! [Video]
VincentMcConnell replied to Tim_Barrett's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I landed at around 4:30PST today. That was about five hours ago. The gravity, according to Kosmo-naut, is 37% of the Mun at the surface. I was also able to return, shooting back into orbit and then returning to the planet. Now with Minmus out of my way (I landed first try) I\'m going to learn how to fly jets. Here is a picture to prove I landed. Here\'s a fantastic view of the wavy surface as you come down. It barely takes any engine power at all! -
Minmus landing earlier this afternoon. I like it. It\'s got extremely low gravity and a nice appearance as you descend.

A Kerbal's Guide to our solar system
VincentMcConnell replied to NovaSilisko's topic in KSP Fan Works
You need to place it further away, then or adjust the gravity. In real life, it\'s clear that we\'re not the only planet in the solar system. -
Wow. I did not know that. Thanks, Nova. You could also just press F1 and you\'ll get a really high-res KSP window photo.

Gemini and Apollo Missions: David Bowie - A Space Oddity
-
Yes, it\'s a good demo, but there are no plug-ins or new terrain engines. Persistence also doesn\'t exist... So, Harv and those guys really made the full game a lot better, and the community has contributed so much to the game that it makes it WAY more fun to play than the demo.

Are Aldrin Cyclers possible in KSP?
VincentMcConnell replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Well I would think it might looks something like being shot into the mun\'s SOI, swung around on a green escape trajectory, going back into an elliptical blue trajectory around Kerbin, flying out towards the Mun again and so on. I could envision how it would look, I just don\'t know if anyone has done the math here on how to actually get one going. I\'m guessing it\'s possible. -
You should get 14. The demo sucks compared to all the new stuff we now have.
