About series I personally really enjoy Sentō Yōsei Yukikaze : Otherwise Monster was really nice with 74 episodes : Then for movies the craziness of Yoshiaki Kawajiri can be extremely joyfull with : Highlander the Search of Vengeance. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust The Cockpit. And the awesome Wicked City. Venus Wars. There is so much others I can't remember...

I use MJ Ascent Guidance a lot when the craft is some specific rocket since some times now, cause I have no more joysticks for years and gravity turns with keyboard annoy me more than anything else. Having to constantly tap the control keys for "not too much, now it's not enough, now too much again, tap tap tap, not enough, not enough! (flipping)", quickly became boring after a lot of launch failures the first days I played KSP. The same thing happen in real life to me, onboard the old school "Skyhawk" SP our instructor just disconnect the (very primitive) AP onboard, as the VOR/DME and remove the GPS to be sure that we learn to navigate the old way, just the ADF was available. And it was the good thing to do. Then years after I went onboard a fresh ultra-light with an AP and dual EFIS screen, I was reluctant to use it for some months then once during a 3 hours cruise I decided to try it... can't make any long flight without it now, the amount of work to make onboard just fall like a miracle, getting time to look and analyze everything else while still keeping the eyes on the flight and without these stress impulsions we got before.

This project originally was intended to realize an SSTO modeled from the Mikoyan-Gurevitch MiG-21, and as it can be seen... The result is much more closer from the Sukhoi Su-9... Named after the Norse giant Surtr, this little guy is able to send three fanatics kerbonauts to Spaaaace : And, of course, Surtr can come back without any refueling. As an SSTO the performances are no more than average, do not expect more than a circular 150 km orbit. So the file comes as a TSTO, equipped with two droppable fuel tanks to reach an orbit of 200 km or more for a price of less than 5000 funds. This full stock craft can be found on KerbalX, and has been updated to 1.2. The traditional album of the first flight is available too. Just be cautious on final, the XC-21 really small lifting surface coupled to the delta wing will make it stall around 80 m/s while it's nearly emptied. Keep enough fuel to keep a good air speed, flare a bit and everything should run fine.

Well I knew it was my last time with 1.0.5 before finally switch to something fresher so I start to ask myself what could I realize that I never made before and could be really stupid... a rolling piggy bank... no. A banana-like rocket... no. No, instead it will be the... Flying Karpet. Ugly and useless : For this birth (and last) flight Aladdin Kerman, an innocent rookie, was the pilot in commands. Rocket assisted take-off due to a terrible CoM. A whole new world... A new fantastic point of view... No one to tell us no or where to OOOOH S**T! (...) Hem...not really a good way to say goodbye to an old friend. Anyway, I will go for the banana rocket the next time.

Hi everyone, I am still under 1.0.5 and really want to switch to 1.2. before when passing from 0.90 to 1.0.2 then 1.0.5 I was only interested to transfert my craft then restart a new career, but here there is a dilemma for me : I really like my crew members and don't want to lose them. What can I do to keep and transfert them to a new 1.2 career? Is copy/paste the crew datas in the persistent.sfs file just be enough and will not breed conflicts in the game?

Just have the time to conceive a new light SSTO/TSTO called XC-21 Surt, just for fun. Surprisingly everything went well on her inaugural flight (!). She needs just some adjustments and will be ready to be shared in some hours : I used two small drop tanks on this first flight to see her consumption. She should be able to reach a low orbit on herself as a pure SSTO. It's a question of style. Waiting at 75 km for the 200 km rendez-vous. As usual I used Outer Heaven for the test. The Kolibri Mk. I is still here as a cheap shuttle. The re-entry was satisfying, the RCS finally being not necessary to maintain an angle of 20-25 some seconds after. Short landing distance with the braking chute. Main landing breaks are set to 19.

That is really Kerbalized! I am still working on my SSTO version of her : -
What is your official KSP snack and beverage?
XB-70A replied to Stealth2668's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Strong Ristretto made with the Delta coffee one of my Portuguese friend send me occasionally But it usually turns cold in two minutes -
I tried to realize a new SSTO, this time clearly to pay tribute to the famous mach 3.2 capable Lockheed's wonder, named XC-71 Shadow : Just a crew of two and 5 tons of load onboard for this first flight. The Shadow climb like a crazy one. Even with four aerospikes the craft is still a bit underpowered for finalising the climb. She will stay at just 70 x 70 km. These lines... <3 The traditional EVA look-around. With such a wingspan the aerobracking is impressive and much efficient. Mmmmh, Habu ! Flight 101 on short final runway 09. Extremely stable. The brakes were not even required during most of the landing. Well, I still have a lot to do to make her a full capable SSTO, but this flight was far from being disappointing. To be continued for sure!

I finally interrupted Demeter inaugural flight tonight to test her re-entry attitude : Starting with a catastrophic de-orbiting from the polar position as the KSP was eastern at this time. Everything went fine at this time, then about ten seconds later the craft became instable and start to bank on starboard. I tried to recover her as softly as possible but she keep on banking hard and adopt an action of yo-yo. This just ruined any hope of successfully reach the KSC or island runways, forcing to take the decision of a sea-landing. Add to this a terrible gliding performance. This little winged block actually falls faster than none of my precedent craft! SPLASH! Hit the surface around 30 m/s, but with most of the speed being vertical. Well, that is not what I would call a success, but it is not a total failure too. I saw during the uncontrolled fall that aerodynamic forces where produced by the space lab module in the cargo bay (sigh). This and a too important AoA during the first seconds had probably ruined the re-entry. I will re-work this small cosmic beattle and her launcher to share them.

Is it true that most KSP players never go interplanetary?
XB-70A replied to KerikBalm's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Be honored. It took me a year and half of Mun/Minus flights and some solar orbits before I finally take the decision of "Let's do it!" and realize my first trip to another celestial body. And like you it was Duna, (more due to the closest launch window) then Moho a month after, and I should land a rover on Eve soon. -
McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle, Mikoyan-Gurevitch MiG-23/27, North American F-86 Sabre, Saab JAS 39 Gripen, Mikoyan-Gurevitch MiG-21, Grumman F9F Panther, Saab 2000 Erieye, with such a wingspan it can just be a second generation Harrier, and another Kerbals creation. More seriously, I find your Saab 2000 really interesting. Would you share it ?

About a year ago I tried a Saturn-Shuttle stock prototype based on this picture : It was a complete failure and after a lot of "Return to the VAB?" I just give up and switch to something else. Then two days ago I saw the great creation of @ZooNamedGames on its topic, and it clearly re-inspired me to make another attempt! I got some free time today, and here comes my stock Kerbalized Saturn-Shuttle, Kronos-Demeter. This inaugural test flight was to send a space lab on a 300 x 300 km orbit and try to survive : Really, really Kerbalized... Everything here is possible with the five Vector great gimballing. About 250 000 funds at launch, talk about efficiency! Kronos III first stage separation. There was still about 1100 unit of fuel in the external tank at the separation. Apoapsis was put at 302 km and will required 171 m/s to circularize. Passing by the North Pole. One small burn and... Demeter flight 101 is on its 302 x 301 orbit. So stubby! But I don't know, there is something I like with her... The journey will end after a few days up there.

Finally got an occasion to complete the XC-70A Comet trip : This scientific journey just bring back about 6 points of science... but was also an opportunity to test the last version of the Kolibri Mk II, a simple 6 seats small shuttle. Smooth undocking... ... and de-orbit after some time waiting for a daylight landing conditions. Reentry was not really easy, the craft getting just the Mk2 cockpit and drone core for reaction wheels. Overshot, but hey, that's a habit now. About 400 of fuel on board at this time, more than enough to reach the island airfield. On short final. Controls are terrible at such a low speed, the craft use to bank pretty fast and about to stall. Touch a bit hard and on the left main gear first, but everyone's alive. Taxiing to the hangar. The crew seems to have no words to describe such a trip! Total mission cost : 4882 funds. Conclusion : she is not a bad craft, the climb to the orbit being pretty fast and smooth but still need some adjustments about the orbital and low speed controls. Perhaps adding a couple of small elevons acting as spoilerons on the delta upper streamline could also help without adding too much weight.

Kerbals dream about long stays in space to grow up in lower gravity condition.

The problem to me was with Saturn not the orbiter. The last one got four Swivels and it was not a problem, but the S-IC-like was powered by five Skippers, not Mainsails. My stage was shorter than yours, some kind of dwarf S-IC, and the Skippers were underpowered while the Mainsails were fat and overpowered, even by reducing their thrust the craft use to flip and the fuel burned too fast. So I just switch to something else in my career to get more funds like tourists flights mainly. But as I wrote here, your project just reminds me that another try can be fun.

I tried a Saturn Shuttle more than a year ago under 1.0.2, but the control was terrifying. I just give up and totally forget it until yesterday when I saw your work. It should be possible now with the Vector engine on Saturn, their gimballing will clearly help. Also it was a project based on this wood model : Like here my shuttle got four SSME (Swivel), but two Thud to complete circularization.

Sorry to be late Leafy. I know Galileo already answered you, and would like to help you more but the problem is I downloaded a complete gamedata folder that a user shared some times ago now (my oldest screenshot I can find with the Milky Way is from June). I still have the .rar file and if it can help you here are the folder inside : - BoulderCo - EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements - scatterer - TextureReplacer (this folder countain another called "default" which got the .png files nammed "GalaxyTex", those are the rear galaxy images) Hope it helps.

Fantastic! Your work inspired me to try again this project.

Rocket Part Revamp Discussion Thread
XB-70A replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The new Poodle... is MARVELOUS ! And this idea of a single Boar engine is great, it could fill the space between the Skipper and Mainsail that is actually detained by the Vector. Could it be a possibility to adapt each of these engines to the lower scale ? Like a medium dedicated engine to a small tank, a bit like the <<revolution>> the Vector brought by giving small fuel tanks and craft an engine thrust much more made for the large sector. -
Transfert window to Eve has opened : With just about 400 m/s... ... before separation. A Poodle well keep on the work but for an unknow reason just one solar panel load with the craft. In the VAB two clearly appear. Anyway it must be destroyed during the entry in the purple ball atmosphere. 91 days, it takes less than my first trip to Duna. Farewell Kerbin, this is a single way ticket to an unknow world. Just a small correction and 19 days later... ... Eve appears for the first time on my screen. Hard to discern, a small ball is just over the nosecone. Now it's just a question of hours before entering in its sphere of influence. Their is probably just enough fuel remaining onboard for ajusting the trajectory and use the atmosphere for an aerobraking. I wonder how the little rover will bear these conditions.
