  1. Maybe it is possible to exclude the resource costs from their final cost? The radical approach would include a requirement for a rare resource (in addition to material kits) to every part's printing cost. That resource should be absent on Kerbin or difficult to mass-produce to prevent money printing. MKS already does that, actually. It adds a requirement of SpecializedParts, which are rather hard to manufacture, to every printing recipe. In this approach, the amount of material kits is tied to an object's mass, and the amount of a secondary resource is determined by its cost. So, the way I'd set it up is as follows. Add a requirement of an expensive resource from CRP (say, Rare Metals). Add an ability to mine it to stock drills with a MM patch (only if MKS is not installed, because its drills can already mine it).
  2. @Aelfhe1m is there a way to turn off the funds cost of printing items? I'm asking because some items have unreasonably high cost, like 700,000 for a USI 3.75m Reactor. Why do you need money to print stuff off-world anyway?
  3. Which is strange, considering that they have the same amount of machinery. I thought @RoverDude once said that they should be of comparable efficiency.
  4. Are you sure about that? I thought they were roughly equal in speed per module.
  5. It increases with time, depending on how many specialists you have on the planet. Check KSPedia for more info about Kolony rewards.
  6. I call all three of them "colonization score" I guess that's the root of @gamerscircle's power problems
  7. Did your colonization score increase? It makes drills work faster and consume more power per second.
  8. There should also be a Real time/Elon time transition constant somewhere in that equation.
  9. But no timewarp-related glitches? Ok, it must be a KIS thing then, because I see this kind of glitches all the time with my KIS-assembled bases. Also, chemicals are used for refined exotics, do you make those?
  10. Unrelated: do you, by any chance, have any weird part placement glitches when doing timewarp? Like, parts shifting their position and/or clipping into the ground? Maybe parts having their position offset relative to other parts upon scene reload?
  11. I had a weird bug where an engineer that I rescued was randomly changing professions. Sometimes without me noticing (which led to a lot of frustration afterwards). He also had a weird interaction with Final Frontier that caused a hilarious event when I couldn't exit the scene or save the game. Got really tired of all that. So one day he had an... accident involving a cargo pod landing over him, after which another engineer took his place.
  12. I, unfortunately, didn't have the time to play KSP today because I went to the Moscow Festival of Science, where we had a very cool live connection with ISS, and a Q&A session with cosmonauts S. Ryazansky and A. Misurkin who are currently onboard the ISS. I wanted to ask them if they played KSP, but the window for communication was too short, and I didn't have the chance. Outside the main building I spotted a strange-looking tent. Inside it, there was (imagine my surprise) a Soyuz space capsule! It looked like it survived a reentry after one of the past missions. Somehow, it felt strangely warm to the touch, despite the cold weather today. Also, attended the lecture by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak about AI and technology. After the lecture, they gave him a nesting doll representing himself!
  13. Just want to mention that PAL rovers are the best thing in the world, no idea how I'd play MKS without them. P.S. Is it possible to add the ground tether module to the Akita core? It'll help immensely with grabbing/moving heavy stuff with magnets.
  14. I think that the demand for putting things in space is low partially because the cost of it is so high. Should it be made WAY cheaper with reusable rockets, the market for it will surely grow. Tourism, for example. If you can put 150t in orbit in one go, why not build a space hotel? Or casino? Or a luxury space liner doing free-return trips to the Moon? Billionaires can afford to go to space as tourists today, imagine if it was affordable to middle-class people.
  15. Sorry, I was under the impression you were replying to my post. Never mind then. TBH, I was talking about existing SpaceX rockets and the imaginary mini-BFR (since this is, you know, a SpaceX thread). So, about your fully reusable Nissan. Imagine if there were only expendable cars: you buy one, drive it once, and then throw it away. And then Nissan develops a fully reusable car, making every other car obsolete.
  16. Where have I ever mentioned colonization of anything? I was talking about BFR and how it will render every other rocket useless and their development pointless.
  17. Given enough time and money, you can do great many things. But micro-BFR, just like Falcon-9 and Heavy, is going to become obsolete once the full scale BFR is done. It'll probably never recoup its development cost.
  18. A tanker can be filled with CO/LOX on the surface and put in a low Mars orbit. Departing ships can then refuel from it like they do in LEO. ISP difference between 280s and 375s means that the ship will have 25% less dv. Which can be mitigated by refueling in orbit.
