Make a wish... and have it horribly corrupted!
LaytheDragon replied to vexx32's topic in Forum Games!
Granted, all games that are free to play cost a monthly fee when you don't play them during a month. Due to the cooncidental ways of the ninja of me plaguing my previous post, I would like to rewish for Nautilus pompiliuses (Chambered Nautiluses) to rain down onto the streets of all major cities of the Earth. -

Granted. The genie obliterates every atom of grass and weed in your grandmother's lawn, and replaces the grass with cheap ribbons attached to mats, that aren't made to resemble grass, but that are created to resemble fake grass. I wish for Nautilus pompiliuses (Chambered Nautiluses) to rain down onto the streets of all major cities of the Earth. -
(The spoilers do show Dres-teroids (the spoiler within the spoiler is much closer to a Dres-teroid, though I won't show for anti-spoiling purposes a ship docked to one, unless you wish to see a ship docked to a Dres-teroid), be warned) I have mined Dres-teroids before, and shall tell you to look for them in an orbit of 18,000,000-22,000,000 meters above Dres (those are good for the periapsis and apoapsis when burning for Dres orbit from an escape trajectory). Once you have arrived in orbit of Dres, they will begin to spawn (be patient, timewarp 'till they spawn once in orbit) (I don't know for sure whether they will spawn just by entering its SOI, and I don't know if they will continue to spawn if you leave it). It took more than 80 Kerbin days if I remember correctly (it was more time than you have waited for) for Dres-teroids to spawn in my save.

Footprints and/or rover tracks are a wonderful feature missing from the game, and that haven't been modded yet for KSP 1.1.2 specifically. I request a dedicated footprints/rover tracks mod (the outdated 1.0.5 version of Kopernicus Expansion has footprints, so it is possible, but that mod is anything but dedicated to only footprints) for KSP 1.1.2.

You should try landing on Bop at night. I did that once during my .90 career save, and it was frightful, especially when I landed successfully only because I had a Spark engine mounted on a 1.25 meter fuel tank, on a massive slope. Oh, but the moons of Jool dancing around in timewarp from Bop's surface, on a steep slope that a probe would fall over on if it used a Terrier engine, that is an entirely more pleasurable experience (timewarp keeping the vessel stable in addition to the moons is convenient, too). Edit: An album (in the save this was from, it was completely stock (and on a laggard computer), so the full glory of Jool and its moons is extremely hard to see from the still, not-in-visual-timewarp picture)

Went to Bop, mined the -[Easter Egg's]- fallen-out eyeball. In the spoiler... Here be Easter Eggs!

I have an entry... I have mined the Kraken's fallen out eyeball, with 7 drills, using a pimped-up 3.75 meter pod fully-fledged 11-kerbal mini-mining base! If it isn't too late, this is a serious (if mining and sticking flags in a Kraken eyeball is serious...) entry, and more pictures can be provided if necessary to prove that no hyperedit/mechjeb was used (I don't use either of those mods anyways). If one doesn't trust the number of kerbals I have stated, count the capacity of all the pods. There is a mini-ISRU nestled in the middle of the stack of the base (not part-clipped, either), and some mini-ore tanks, if one is wondering of the visual absence of them. In the second-to last screenshot, it can be seen that I squeezed in two flags on the eyeball, and so far have stuck one in the Kraken itself (though more can be planted). The mods in this save are almost all visual (no part mods are in the game except EVA struts and RasterPropMonitor (which adds a camera), and none are used on the ship). No Kerbal Engineer or other mod of the likes is used, either.

Do something nobody has done before
LaytheDragon replied to quasarrgames's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
This involves a certain easter egg, so if you don't want to be spoiled, don't open the spoiler... -
Mods are amazing creations. The majority of the mods I have downloaded are visual (or partially, like OPM and RasterPropMoniter), and that makes it quite easy to gather stellar pictures. Some examples almost all from my most-recent, current career (20% science, rep, and funds, but quicksaves/reverts allowed): Thank YOU to all modders in existence who have contributed in making KSP stellar!

Uh... I could probably do that for the sunFlare, and also add luminous green sunSpikes (also part of the flare), or do the opposite, but what about the ghosts (the glares, separate from the flare itself)? Translucent money-green triangles? The words "Illuminati Confirmed"? Both? Give me more details on what is requested for the ghosts, and this may become a real sun flare for download by/during/after the weekend.

Stock submarine
LaytheDragon replied to Jeb-head-mug kerman's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Quite easy, I have already done this (stock parts, though other, non-cheaty mods were present, like Kerbal Alarm Clock), and can easily submit an entry I already have for a very deep depth on Laythe. But that was in 1.0.5. But, I still have that submarine on Laythe, so it wouldn't be hard to redo it for 1.1, if the version 1.1.2 of KSP is required for the challenge (I also can make a new sub by modifying a jetpack, too). I even have an album of the 1.0.5 attempt: In 1.1: -
Nope. @max_creative?

That is because the animal crackers are stacked neatly, and they were only selling horse-shaped ones at the store. Waiter! There is a Civ 5 Battle Royale Mk II Part 56 in my soup!

This is a thread for my alternate sunflare mod(s) for scatterer. So far, it seems likely that sci-fi-themed flares are what I may/will post (despite not using them myself), since they are quite easy to create simplistic flares for, and there are fewer options for them posted as of yet. Tripartite Rays Sunflare: A simplistic, sci-fi-themed sunflare, the Tripartite Rays sunflare may please your eyes with its triangular rays of radiation. To install: Drag all the contents of the "Tripartite Rays Flare" folder (but not the folder itself) within .zip file from download into the "GameData/scatterer/sunflare" folder, replacing the original contents of that folder As for any sunflare mod, it is a good idea (but not necessary) to backup the previous sunflare (previous contents of "GameData/scatterer/sunflare" in KSP directory) before installation Requires Scatterer Mod ( <---- Thread) Download Tripartite Rays Here: The download link (on spacedock) (Note that the description here is basically that which is found on Spacedock)

Make a wish... and have it horribly corrupted!
LaytheDragon replied to vexx32's topic in Forum Games!
Gran... *boom!* Your genie falls face-forward onto the same patch of air he was floating in before. Everyone on the planet lets out an involuntary "Ha!". When you get back the genie's autopsy report, you hear that he had a cerebral hemorrhage. He had died after granting the wish I wish that we could finally ha. What a waste of a wish. I wish that I could voluntarily rapidly increase or decrease the amount of body fat on anyone's and/or everyone's body/bodies at will. -

Granted, @DolphinDude3 can, but isn't in the mood to, make dolphins talk English. He then dies suddenly of a heart attack in his sleep. I wish that the Moon had a breathable atmosphere (by Humans, etc.) similar to that of the Earth. -
I delved into modding today, so I could create some of my very own sunflares for Scatterer! The results so far: It needs a bit of work (such as that the third ghost is sticking out behind another ghost, not where it belongs, and looks bad because of it), but it isn't terrible. As a side note, I can confirm terrain shadows are working, as in the first image.

Make a wish... and have it horribly corrupted!
LaytheDragon replied to vexx32's topic in Forum Games!
Granted. You watch the sky and nothing happens. Time to wait five years, just to see the supernova. You wait five years.... It is now five years later. You scan the sky for it, but find that the Moon was blocking it. You wish you could be invincible. Granted. You wish you could now be teleported to said star. Granted. You use your last wish to teleport a now--invincible self to the inside of the star. Five seconds later, it goes supernova, and you can only see white (you won't go blind, as you are invincible) for the first few seconds, but before you know it, you are flying on an escape trajectory away from the exploded star, with no genie, and invincibility. You are left to suffer in the cold blackness of space. I wish that my dog's tongue would keep growing until the point in which it were as long as the circumference of the Earth. -

Granted, the Magellanic cloud is in all hemispheres, because everything within the Sun's magnetic field is teleported to be orbiting the center of the Magellanic cloud. Only the genie made a computational error, and the solar system is now on an escape trajectory at 0.98 times the speed of light. -

Make a wish... and have it horribly corrupted!
LaytheDragon replied to vexx32's topic in Forum Games!
You wake up, and walk over to your window. As you open your window shades, you are greeted by the face of a man standing on a ladder. Everywhere you look, there is a crowd of lovers of you stretching as far as the eye can see, clambering over everything and everyone else to get in and on top of your house, and eager to snap photographs of you. A massive portion of them even want to eat your brain, because you have such good reputation, which goes hand and hand with popularity (at least in the mind of the genie who granted the wish, who interpreted "rep" as popularity), and due to them having such a like for you. You sneak over to your computer and boot it up, but find it has been hacked also by lovers of you, after the white-colored words "We love you!" appear on a black screen, instead of the windows start-up screen. You then rush over to your telescope, unscrew the front off with your bear hands (you turned your hands and feet into those of a bear with your first wish), and watch with a familiar awe as the HoloGenie 1.1.2 Hologram-form Genie's pixels form and attach. After it is in full-form, you ask the top-of-the-line, never-to-grant-more-than-three-wishes genie for another HoloGenie 1.1.2 as your third wish. This new HoloGenie is granted, and you use it to return your rep to normal, but afterwards, it malfunctions, and you lose access to the other two wishes. You basically got nothing from that wish, and your hands and feet are now permanently those of a bear, with no option to revert them back to standard hands (you planned to wish for your regular hands and feet after you toyed around with the bear hands and feet, and you knew that wishing for another genie would actually succeed, but you never predicted that the HoloGenie 1.1.2 would still have crashes, that are nonexistent for some users (like me), but occurring for others (like you). You also didn't know that the HoloGenie 1.1.2 couldn't be rebooted after a crash.). I wish that genies were kept within telescope lenses rather than bottles. -
It is not very hard if you go micro, and make a small submarine like the one in my signature picture. I have a miniature orbital jetpack design, for example, that'd be easy to refit as a submarine. All you need is a few .625 meter fuel tanks and a Juno, along with one small radial ore tank (plus electricity and a probe core/command seat, and a small elevon and or an appropriate amount of small reaction wheels), for a basic. small, less-likely to have problems with getting it to sink, submarine. I can provide submarine pictures if requested.
