Last night I had a very long, complex narrative dream. I only remember some of the details, but it's enough to piece things together....I had gone back in time to the Old West with a friend, we were trying to grab a train...I interacted with the mirror entities 'Santa' and 'Satan' in a cave (you can't make this crap up )...ended up in France, then in Vietnam or Laos travelling through tunnels, to escape from...somebody? I think it had to do with Satan sending his agents after me...

We had a random snowstorm that quickly passed through for just a couple hours this afternoon, clear before and after it. The moon is really pretty tonight.

The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world.
