  1. It seems to me that our brains may be reaching their highest capacity for how much an individual can do in life. Think about this - the "tutorial" stage where you are figuring out how to exist and do things lasts 18 years or more in many cultures. And the pace of technological advance is tremendous, we're hardly able to keep up with it all, and it shows no signs of stopping. This may be a sign that we are nearing the end of what we can do. However, we do have a few things going for us. We are finding ways to live longer. If it takes a person 22 or 30 years to get up to speed on life, it won't be a significant detriment if they are being a productive member of society for 100 or 200 more years. This will likely be feasible within the century. Another major potential lifesaver we have is interplanetary travel. Very soon we will be attempting to send people to Mars. If we can reinforce that infrastructure once it becomes active, we will be able to eventually send people all over the solar system, hopefully developing enough to stop destroying ourselves.
  2. I have spent most of my life never drawing humans. I was always really bad at humans, but I could do things like planets, mountainscapes, and mechanical things all right so I drew a lot of those. Only in the past year or so, I decided to experiment a little with people and faces. So what if they turn out a little goofy? I can start simple and eventually be able to articulate more and more complex ideas.
  3. I think Africa is the burn, because that's when they said they'll resume webcast commentary. It'll be flying northward.

  7. I dreamt very vividly last night that I went up on a ship like this one. It will be worth it. If you ever get a chance to go to space, do it. Do it do it do it. Even if it's just a suborbital jump.
  8. It looks like a flying rowboat...Seems Mr. Steven has to pull some fancy maneuvering to catch the thing.
  9. That's a lotta rockets! These little things will surely open up near space and the Moon for smaller organizations to explore!

  12. Did you ever hear the tragedy of Michael Malloy?
  13. I realize now I misspoke. The rings will not be visible through a telescope like usual.
  14. There's going to be a day in the 2030s when Saturn's rings will briefly become completely invisible. If I'm on Earth at the time, I will be very interested to see that.
