  1. I've been doing a couple tests recently to see if I can still doodle in my notes on my laptop/tablet, and I think the results are quite clear: I can. (realistic centipede incoming)
  2. I see. Well, they seem to be resolving the issue anyway.
  3. Honestly, would this even be a problem here? How fast could a free-falling object get before hitting the asteroid from that distance?
  4. Haha, ha, ha...that's actually rather unsettling.
  5. Those things aren't immediately related. I'm talking about three separate projects. But they all will come together as part of my experience, and I will have much to draw from any of them if I want to go to space.
  6. This thread, or a new thread about my adventure? Right now there's not much to report, but I will let you guys know when I start really doing cool stuff (this will probably include rockets, solar panels, and insect research)
  7. I've been on the forums for 3 years. I have had KSP for almost 5 years. I can say for sure that as well as being a really fun and cool experience, it really helped me on my way to space. My next steps will be a thousand times more impressive than landing on the Mun, and KSP has certainly made a difference. And my Jeb Kerman plushie is definitely coming with me when the time comes. He may fly solo to space in 2021 too.
  8. I calculated my top walking speed to be about 3.3 meters per second.
  9. U of Minnesota. I'll be getting more information, and get into the team over the coming weeks. The space flight would happen within about 3 years, if we can do it (I bet we can.)
  10. I think it can work, and it will be tried, but it will be a while before that point.
  11. The rocket club at my college flew one up to ~10 km recently. I'm going to try to join them for an actual space shot sometime soon.
  12. There is a bouncy inflatable platform behind Mr. Steven.
  13. Zodian, revisited: One time when I was in elementary school I was puzzling through a word search book at home, either on a weekend or during summer break, and I found one random set of letters in a corner of one word search: ... Z O D I A N . It looked like a word, but I knew it wasn't. It was one letter away from being 'zodiac'. It looked like the name of a sci-fi alien species. So I thought to myself, "what does a Zodian look like?" This is what I came up with. I drew a lot of these creatures, always invading Earth in flying saucers and destroying cities. There was a hierarchy of ships, from small saucers to a giant, Death Star-like mothership. I think there may even have been a Zodian king who lived on their home planet on the opposite side of the galaxy. Now I might draw some more of them, and maybe in a little more detail than a ball eye with stick legs.
  14. Because that is the only important place on Kerbin.
  15. The fairings are bowl shaped, and thus can collect water when improperly landed. These surface samples are useful for learning about the composition of Earth. In all seriousness, I believe they're referring to the fact that they usually fish them out of the water even if they don't land on Mr. Steven. This time, they are just going to let them be, most likely because of the encroaching storm.
  16. I don't know about Doom, but one of the underground passageways in my dorm sounds straight out of Portal 2, from the hum of machinery to the sound the door makes when you open it. The walls are definitely portalable there too, white paint.
  17. Behold, the original shower thought.
