the source file is just the Versuch00 texture. And by all means, do what you want. This is a throw away texture I'm using so its free game. Ill take help where i can get it I just posted Versuch A1 for testing in the OP The textures are 4k 72ppi w/mipmaps -

Yes im generating MipMaps for Versuch A and C. B and D are without mipmaps as I thought this might be the issue as well. I'm using photoshop with the Nvidia dds plugin. I have a few more things I can test but I may need to test and see what happens when I render the textures with gimp, although, as a graphic designer, I despise that program. -
The last value is the one you need to change for both settings. Make the value smaller to make the sun flare textures larger.

Can't because I'm not on my pc. If you open the Sun.cfg in the sunflare folder, there are instructions.

The scatterer sunflare does not scale with Sigma dimensions. You will need to scale the sun flare manually in the sunflare cfg. The instructions are included in the actual cfg

Ok cool back to the drawing board. I am determined to make this work. Not just for Mac and Linux users but for me. I am tired of having to maintain a PNG version and a DDS version. It gets tiring for sure. The most frustrating part is that it's something I'm doing. -

I appreciate the help. I have contacted the RSS guys as they use DDS textures and don't have this issue on mac or Linux but I haven't received an answer back. I don't really expect one though because the devs don't really frequent the forums anymore -

This isn't for use with other mods, it's just a test to see if I can get dds textures to work with Mac and Linux. It will not work with SVT or any other mods I just need your OS and what pack worked for you. (If any) -

I have been pounding my head into my keyboard over what could be causing this effect when Mac and Linux users (openGL) use DDS textures. I am pretty sure it has to do with the way I'm saving these textures, So what I have done is compiled multiple versions of the same textures in DDS format, each saved a little differently. What I need is a few testers on those OS's to try out each one of these texture packs and see if the above effect appears or not. (obviously we don't want it) WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: Start a new game and go to the tracking station, tab to Versuch and report what you see here. If any of these packs work with Linux or Mac, please report which pack you used and your OS This moon (Versuch), replaces the Mun in the stock game. REQUIRES KOPERNICUS To Install 1. Install Kopernicus LINK 2. Install the Versuch folder into your Gamedata folder DOWNLOADS: Versuch A1 Versuch B1 If these don't work, I will experiment more. **Versuch is just a test moon and is not career ready but you can still enjoy it in sandbox mode if you choose to keep it.

No don't update yet. Changes are made in the dev side to support the latest update but not in the current release. Upgrading will cause some issues.- 7,371 replies

That was fixed with the latest EVE. (just checked, definitely fixed) If you installed via ckan, it may not have the latest version. Double check you have the latest version. But if you really just want to remove the shadows, like i said on the EVE thread, remove the shadowMaterial node from the cfgs for each body that has it. Keep in mind you wont have cloud shadows, on the surface or in orbit -
Kinda. SVE uses its own textures and cfgs, but it uses the EVE plugin for its effects. SVE is more performance hungry than EVE because of a few reasons: Default EVE is just a very basic example of what it's capable of and doesn't do anything special. SVE utilizes nearly every effect the plugin is capable of including dust storms and snow. This will obviously cause a drop in performance. SVE's textures are higher resolution. Higher resolution = Less FPS. There is a medium and low version if your rig can't handle the high res. The low version might actually run faster than default EVE but the texture resolution is only 2k resulting in pretty poor visuals, but it's better than nothing for some people. And lastly, SVE depends on scatterer for best results. This is really the biggest performance hog. However, turning off certain features help with performance, namely the ocean shaders. There really is no better way to find out what will work for you than to try it yourself. Good luck!

I need someone with Mac to test that as well. Please do. You need to install the latest KSCSwitcher and yes, there are multiple launch sites, but you can only use one at a time.- 598 replies

I just don't understand the hostility towards the guy. I guess I'm just too old to care. I have more important things to care about then whether or not a guy faked something in a video game. Geezus. It really shouldn't bother anyone so bad that you are calling for everyone else to boycott his videos. If it does you should probably reevaluate your life. This guy posted a video that you can watch for free or not. If it being faked ruined your day....whoa. And who cares if it leads new players astray? They will figure it out on their own that this isn't possible much like the rest of us. It doesn't make the game any less enjoyable. I feel like a lot of people in here just found out Santa Claus isn't real...

Windows works fine. I assume you are forcing dx11 or OpenGL which is not supported or really necessary anymore- 598 replies
