Bigger Asteroids in KSP
RA3236 replied to The_Rebel_Flagship's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Has anyone assumed that Kerbol and the solar system are scaled down to approx. 10%? That means that an E class is practically 350 meters across. That's about enough to obliterate a state of the US and severely affect the sir rounding area, In kerboler terms, an E class asteroid isn't enough to destroy a city, but since it is scaled down it could cause more than a thousandfold damage. -
What is the most HORRIBLE way one of your kerbals died
RA3236 replied to 322997am's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I don't know if this counts, but recently Jeb belly flopped into the ocean from 5km. He didn't look too good. -
Self-imposed KSP rules. Things we do that make things more difficult.
RA3236 replied to Tourist's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Two things for me (actually more than that) Ibuild big rockets. No matter how big or small the payload is, the rocket needs to be big. I simply do not crash. In the case I am flying a plane, this rule does not apply. If I have a lander and I don't think I can land, MechJeb takes over. The Kerbal X is the primary flagship of the Kerbin fleet, bringing Kerbals to stations. My first craft MUST be a mk1 pod with a flea booster and fins and goo experiments in 4x symmetry. In accordance with rule 1, bring more fuel than you need. A lot more. -
What you are talking about is aerobraking, not lithobraking. Lithobraking is using the planets surface to slow down, aerobraking is using the atmosphere.

I installed SCANSat through CKAN but uninstalled manually, and I deleted the whole folder. I guess it had something to do with the old version. I'll refresh CKAN to see if it'll fix it, but I always follow installation and uninstallation instructions right. I'm still thinking it had something to do with RT as well, since the logs and save file had nothing to do with SS. The save file was eaten by the Kraken, if you need to know, but the problem was happening even afterwards when I started a new one.

Ablator? I don't even know her!
RA3236 replied to Der Anfang's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Yes, anything to do with heat depletes them actually, even pointing them at the Sun when close enough. -

Hyper edit allows you to deplete ablation and resources in space. -
Yeah, I finished it and then I went to scan the Mun for resources and it broke the save. I have pics of the individual modules if you want them. It is just a science station but was going to include some fuel for refueling.
-
I don't crash. I always deliberately crash.
-
So, after a strange bug with RT and ScanSat, my space station is destroyed, so it's time for plan B: a refueling lander capable of going to the Mun then to Minmus.
-
Hi, I need help with a problem after uninstalling ScanSat with RT installed, explanation at the bottom of this page.
-
What is the chance that this mod will be continued in 1.1 with the changes in antennae?
-
Here I was thinking that dropping a Tsar Bomba on the Mun would be enough... And then I found this thread. Space Station, HERE I COME!!! Actually, this might tie in with the ending of my first year playing KSP. And yet, I still believe that Jool and Eeloo is too hard.

Is there example craft for this still?
-
Totally possible, I made a runway on the Mun with a fully functional launchpad and helipad. No bugs found.

[1.12.x] Custom Asteroids 1.9.0 - January 24
RA3236 replied to Starstrider42's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
THANK YOU!!! I stopped using Custom Asteroids in 0.90.0 when I think I must of installed too many asteroid configs and spammed my save with asteroids, making it extremely laggy, EVEN when I was in space and looking away form the ground. I want to see if this still happens, but for now I will install and see how it goes. -
You know you've built a huge rocket, when ...
RA3236 replied to Jimbodiah's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Not neccessarally, it sounds weird but, depending on Earths location, it would take a lot more delta v to get even close enough to Pultos apoapsis. And plus, Pluto isn't going very fast (something like 200m/s at perihelion). When your rocket is over 50 parts (I do actually lag with anything over this) When your rocket has quite a lot to do with Kerbodyne When your rocket is subject to three SOIs at once (Kerbin, Mun, Minmus) When you crash your plane into the rocket and the explosion destroys Kerbin. -
I've found it! At the top, above reply to this topic, there is mark as read. Ill click it now to show you.

I would just like to say this: CKAN says that KerbinSide and KerbalKonstructs are compatibke with 1.0.5. I've noticed the issues with the colision meshes and I thought I might mention this.
