  1. I'm out of the loop on this one... what's this thread about?
  2. oh good, this again. Well those two players aren't in physics range clearly... so time warp doesn't matter. and they're not exactly playing together so re-sync is going to matter. As has been discussed a million times before, there are games with solutions to this, like Stellaris, and there are a few other options that can be used to - especially as multiplayer is likely to be between friends who are actually going to play *together* as opposed to simply playing in the same solar system.
  3. Yeah if you don't have an SSD... one will help. I put off buying one for a long time and when I finally switched I was actually quite mad at myself for not doing it sooner lol Also, don't forget to turn trajectories OFF when you aren't using it. Frees up so much cpu time!
  4. I'm glad this has re-surfaced... It's infuriating that these service bays don't have a "disable staging" option lol. That said. I'd give every part that can be staged the option to be removed from staging if I was a dev Don't get me wrong ofc, I truly appreciate Squad's work
  5. Yeah, you just buy them as you want to use them in vab/sph instead of buying the node Or do you mean buy with science and not funds?
  6. we were talking about simulating EVERYTHING... as in everything I said like particle smashing, realistic environmental destruction, PLUS all the things I didn't mention that KSP doesn't do... Think you jumped in on that one without reading what we were saying properly
  7. Really??? Wow, I didn't realise that one thanks!
  8. If Squad didn't, somebody in the forums somewhere definitely did I saw a post about it a long long time ago Yeah, not somewhere I'd want to go without quite a large coat. Thinking about it, does Laythe have water or is it some other liquid? Explodium seas or something I've seen in the forums? Lower freezing point? But I agree, in reality, I think virtually every substance would be pretty darn frozen on laythe
  9. aye, that it would be Also you'd need one hell of a computer to simulate it all! Not sure how this works in regards to Kerbol's temperature etc. but I think Jool is actually closer to its star than Earth is to the sun... if I'm looking at the numbers properly KSP has such a dinky solar system lol
  10. I've been experimenting with it and it is really fun to play that way. You do have to do a bit of tweaking with rewards/starting funds etc because it rapidly becomes either incredibly grindy or stupidly easy
  11. As much as I love KSP... this list you want us to write could be as endless as real world science is itself. It's only a simulation of basic orbital mechanics at the end of the day :) But if you want major "mistakes" (I'd argue most are for gameplay reasons, not genuine mistakes) then we could start with; - Unrealistic aerodynamic simulation - Unrealistic 2-body gravity physics - Sun is the wrong colour/temperature for its size/mass - Kerbin is stupidly dense for its size - Kerbal fuel is not very dense at all - No radiation - Kerbin atmosphere just suddenly stops (not realistic at all) - Kraken drives - No real need to worry about satellites/stations overheating without radiators as they do in real life The list could go on forever... especially if you start saying things like "KSP is inaccurate because it doesn't simulate neutrinos" or "I can't smash electrons together" or even as simple as "I can can crash a 1000t vehicle into the ground at supersonic speeds but there is no crater.. not even a scratch". They all sound pretty inaccurate scientifically which makes them "mistakes", I suppose.
  12. very much agreed, I figured this one out as soon as I bought the game... went to Sandbox, thought what the fudge is all this? and went straight to career instead :P
  13. Yes, I like to take a holistic approach with my Kerbals too... keep them free-range and organic whenever possible
  14. Just so you all know, I actually gave my idea a go... Set up: -10% science rewards (adjust depending on how grindy you want it to be) -10% funds rewards (adjust depending on how grindy you want it to be) 500% reputation penalty No quickloads No reverts Purchase parts *ON* (parts are unlucked with tech AND funds with this option on) Starting Science 2700 Starting Reputation 750 Start game... Open deubg > set facility and tech to maximum > use admin building and use the Patents Licencing strategy > set to 100% (which costs 2700 science). Use debug to set reputation back to 0 (there's some weird behavior with this step... -100 doesn't subtract 100). Now, every single experiment you do contributes towards your level of funding! With this approach, a successful science trip to the mun simply gives you more funds to pump back into R&D! So far its quite an interesting way to play + science seems to make a little more sense now... instead of a goo experiment unlocking a new engine for some reason, its more like a successful mission is rewarded with funds which can then be used to unlock an engine Also, if you want a slightly easier start, set starting funds a bit higher - I do this as I'm personally a little bored of the first 2/3 missions at this point
  15. I was very specifically told otherwise. I demand my prize!
  16. niceeee thanks! almost pinned at 60fps despite all the visual mods... I assume you're running at pretty high settings too? I'm pretty jealous at the moment
  17. big bird that! looks pretty part heavy too.. whats the count? with a redesign you could probably have swiveling engines instead of those dedicated VTOL engines
  18. still using the old texture for the service bay? ooh also.. what kinda fps you getting? I'm looking to upgrade soon
  19. I think the entire English speaking world knows this one... the word in that usage alone is close to a century old and has existed in other forms for longer lol You'll be telling us what "cool" means next... a word even more recent that dibs lol.
  20. tbf I don't have *any* friends that play ksp... though I know what you mean, would be super nice for community challenges (especially of the air combat variety) for more than 4.
  21. Because NASA uses metric and tbf... gallons and miles are literally defined using a metric value
  22. don't worry, 70 hours is absolutely nothing in ksp I've got over 2100 hours now and there's still so much I haven't even tried yet
