  1. I did a clean install with this mod and the inflatable heat shields work fine
  2. The Blue Origin orbital rocket that was unveiled in August seems to be a medium-lift rocket. They would recover it SpaceX-style, with the entire rocket landing back at the cape. I think having a BE-4 powered stage would be more powerful and more efficient than three BE-3 powered cores.
  3. I technically kind of knew about that. I was just wondering about the difference between them and the ones from LazTech. I'm not sure if they controlled the vehicle or not but I do know that they had pretty good animations of how they moved.
  4. What's the difference between this and ATM?
  5. I think the Gridfins control pitch and yaw but not roll. However I never really tested that as I use RCS to control the first stage during coast phases
  6. Quick question-are you planning to make the GEM-63XL (based on Delta IV GEM-60) solid rocket boosters for the Vulcan? Apparently ULA switched out Aerojet Rocketdyne as a booster supplier and replaced it with Orbital ATK.
  7. They then replaced it with some Orbital-ATK concept. Then that got canceled because it was too expensive. I'm not really sure about Stratolaunch's future; it seems very cloudy right now.
  8. I just want to announce that as a special New Year's gift, the SpaceX Landing Zone 1 is now avaliable in the launchers pack mod! The LZ-1 is really just a portable landing pad. It can be parked at a specific location and be stable enough for large and heavy rockets to land on it through a large reaction wheel. Now Falcon 9s can land on this and the ASDS with ease.
  9. Examples: Titan II and some Chinese Long March rockets They actually ignite the engines inside the interstage, and small doors on the outside open up to allow the exhaust to escape. I've also had this problem with the Orion MES in the Chaka Monkey pack. It got annoying enough that I couldn't even get the Orion to orbit since the "bug" prevented the Orion MES from igniting, even after it is separated from the fairing.
  10. I agree with you. A landing pad like the one from the level 1 pad (maybe bigger, depending on needs) should be enough for something like a 3.75m rocket to land on it (maybe even 5m rockets like the ones from SpaceY, which includes SpaceX-style landing legs)
  11. A landing pad like the level 1 launch pad (I think it has small 'contingency" pads around it) would be very nice.
  12. Looks like they shrunk the first stage and made longer and slanted nose cones for the boosters.
  13. Definitely. The extra delta v from the SLS will get JUICE a lot faster than current LVs.
  14. Welcome back! Is RSS/RO requires for some rockets? I tried to launch a vega but the first stage burned out after 22 seconds in stock KSP. IIRC it's supposed to burn for 2 minutes
  15. The way of how the Atlas V 411 launches drives me crazy
  16. It's for the F9 v1.1 and v1.2 in launchers pack.
  17. Hey guys, I will be on vacation next week and unfortunately I will not be able to post. I do, however, promise that once I get back I'll continue to work on the next article. If you want a spoiler, here's the rocket I'm gonna do next week:
  18. OG2 launch on Falcon 9 v1.2 IN KSP.... Also, here's a landing on water (due to my laziness of not wanting to do the work of flying it all the way back to KSC)
  19. Well, we're technically flying unmanned spacecraft here. Everything went well and the satellites deployed until the first stage landing. I couldn't control the first stage for the last leg, so it crashed into the water (yes, I was too lazy to do a KSC landing) at 15 m/s, which was better than my first attempt, when I "landed" the booster at an astonishing 195 m/s. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
  20. Now we're rolling! Go Orbcomm! Go SpaceX!
