  1. All dressed up, ready for Unity The whole arm frame has been redone, it's now more of a plate with more concealed extension for height adjustment. I also realized I had the arms on the wrong side of the tower, so they've been moved. Both arms will have horizontal X-axis adjustment, and the big Arm 1 will still have vertical adjustment with a modifief mount.
  2. WIP Wings3D screenshot of what I've been working on, the Atlas-SLV-Centaur (or just Atlas-Centaur) tower. Still a lot more details to be added (like a ton of pipes), but the worst is over (the arms will still be separate).
  3. After some more tweaks to the tower and arm, the Atlas-Agena Service Tower is done. Added 3 height variants: a shorter one and two taller ones. Also, turns out the aem has to be rotated a slight bit in order to fit the tower on the LC-14 static from Tundra's Space Center; how much depends on how close to IRL you want it. All the images of the Atlas-Agena tower I looked at were angled shots, but it seems the tower and Atlas were lined up with each other. With the arm mounted on a cut-out corner of the tower, I had to make guesses as to how that alignment was done. Anyway, here is a little demo; the tower and revised arm are now on the GitHub master branch. Oh, the exisiting Atlas Mini Modular Tower was renamed to Mini Modular Service Tower Type 4. Haven't yet changed the part iteself, may just leave it as is.
  4. Actually, I am going to make a dedicated Atlas-Centaur tower. Two of them, in fact, as I will do the Atlas G/I/II version and arms as well. I might be able to combine the the two towers in one part depending on how much different they are. The original is shorter than the later one, and if it is just that with some detail changes then it is doable, but if the two have size and other structural differences then they will be separate.
  5. And it's in the game, after some revising and minus the height variants (which won't be a lot): I had to modify the Agena Umbilical Arm. One, I removed the taller umbilical section variant, as the top would clip into the tower when retracted. Two, I think the actual umbilicals were angled, not straight out, as the latter case would put the tower way too far to the side of the Atlas itself. Angling them puts the tower in a position better matching the pictures. The collider on the tower does not go all the way to the bottom, leaving some leeway for clipping the tower into the pad static if desired. This is also the first use of fake "stairs" in a tower.
  6. SLC-4W is more asscociated with the Titan II variants launched there, and that isn't planned any time soo. Raidernick has the tower in his US Rockets mod. This isn't BDB, I only do the common type, and just focusing on the tower as used with the Ranger launches, since that's what I have the best images for.
  7. The Agena Tower is coming along nicely. WIP Wings3D screenshots, still need to add extra details (railings, pipes, etc.)
  8. RO and RP-1 use Kerbalism, a customized version of which is included with RO. Do not add any other LS mod.
  9. It is a stock cheat function. With KSP v1.1, it was renamed to Object Thrower (Mu hated the name "Whack A Kerbal" ).
  10. Next up is a proper Atlas-Agena tower, something I wasn't in the mood for when I first did the Atlas stand parts. Now I am It'll be a one-piece tower with adjustable height, namely the lower portion. It will still be at at least the actual height, so no shorty versions that I keep seeing. The portion that holds the arm has a chopped-off corner with some cutouts on top where the arm fits into when retracted.
  11. Added a modular version of the Delta 4 tower. It's just two parts, a stackable multi-height core section and the half-height top section. The top section has the side detail and front truss structure, both of which aree switchable on-off separately. Both parts have switchable side panels in the three styles or off. Also made the side panels in the one-piece Delta 4 tower switchable off-on. All are on the Github master now.
  12. Revised the clamp version of the shuttle launcher base (made the SOCK variant SRB holes wider, to match that of the SLC-6 launch mount), and converted the free-standing version to that of the new clamp version. All are on the GitHub master branch.
  13. The SLC-6 parts are now on the GitHub master branch. I also put the shuttle craft file shown in the pics and video on the GitHub, in the Craft Files folder; it's not in any sub-folder. Requires SOCK, ORANGES, Photon Corp, and possibly reDIRECT. Do not actually use this shuttle assembly beyond merely clearing the tower as the SRBs are not attached to the ET with decouplers. This file won't be in the v2.8 release, but if someone makes a fully-functional shuttle stack with the SLC-6 tower, I'll include that.
  14. Made a short demo/guide video for it. I might do a full assembly guide later, but in this one I show off each part and its PAW settings so they can be replicated.
  15. Added that crew escape structure to the tower crew section. I greatly simplified it, using only existing meshes with some rescaling. Also added blackrack's Deferred Rendering to my KSRSS install--no more shiny pads
  16. Oops, I forgot to add the top mast....sigh And I should the escape structcure thing, won't be too hard, mostly kit-bashing existing sections.
  17. Ahem....Polar once around launch, anyone? Aside from some .cfg cleanup, the SLC-6 parts are done. Final part was the intertank structure, which required some major surgery, as the SLC-6 version was mounted differently. Has an adjustment slider to move the main structure side-to-side for the preferred position. It still uses the exisiting hydrogen vent arm
  18. Ok, made the SLC-6 version of the LOX arm, added some extra mesh (the support platform) to the top "beanie base", added more adjustment range to the beanie base, and added extra upper level variants to the tower crew section; these add 1 or 2 upper tower core sections to the top of the crew section, which helps with aligning things without making the top section taller (the default height is the normal version). Looking nice now, didn't even need to raise the beanie base. There are various ways of making the tower, depending on how high you make the launch mount. Oh, seems the LOX arm was still gray, but I'll make the red default.
  19. The main thing with the LOX arm is that I think it extended straight out (i.e. perpendicular) from the tower, and not angled like the LC-39 one. So I'm making a separate version for the SLC-6 tower that is not angled. That should align it with the ET and not have to extend the top of the tower. More vertical adjustment of the arm mounting truss is needed, and I think some more mesh detail to dress it up. The arm was not mounted on the front of the tower like with LC-39, and I'd like to keep it like that, but I think I'll have a toggleable front rail to keep the LC-39 style as an option.
  20. Finally got some of the parts into the game. They need more work, and not everything is in game yet, but this is the first look at the SLC-6 tower, a rough build to see where adjustments need to be made (the LOX vent arm is the main thing of concern).
  21. That, or the Shuttle/SLS rainbirds (the inspiration for the MLP ones), which are basically giant shower heads. A nice water stream effect would be what I want, not a smoke or fog effect.
  22. If they were good enough, I'd make a separate rainbird part so people could add as many as they want, and have a switch for the ones on the bases to turn them off. Right now I've seen the Vapor Vent parts used for that, so a new one would have to look like a water deluge, not vapor.
