  1. As I always toss KER in (even in "vanilla" saves) I had to answer "all the time". I normally run somewhere between 12 and 20 mods on a given install.
  2. Oh yeah baby - I am so ready for satellites
  3. Oh for Pete's sake I have KER installed - I am the Russian team, feel free to DQ me Long Jump (58+ KM) High Jump (No launch clamps because that's exploit-y) (ignore the fact that it's laying on its side) Javelin 5 LF only - 97880m Swimming (really slow at 00:12:23 - there were many donuts)
  4. I use the Mk1 cockpit all the time on spaceplanes. It's fine, you just have to watch your entry angle and not be a cowboy.
  5. I did almost nothing useful and just flew through some terrible weather around some mountains.
  6. I decided it was time to go back to Eve and test some 1.1.3 technology http://imgur.com/a/nUxdb Note to self - aerospikes don't gimble. Not shown - the 3 dozen attempts to find the right balance to get back to orbit.
  7. If you ISRU it's actually not too tough - just haul an empty lander out to Eve. (Real kerbs do it the old-fashioned way, though.)
  8. Having upped the size of gear by a tier on my planes, and ensuring they're stuck on straight, everything works well. Landing speeds (both speed and sink-rate) do need to be reasonable now - I'm finally using airbrakes as intended.
  9. I tend to just not do those high-altitude surveys until I have Whiplashes and time to waste. Maybe make sure capslock is on - it slows control a bunch which can make it easier to avoid going into somersaults and so on.
  10. This is not fixable until the unity upgrade occurs. This has been gone over in detail in the devnotes. As of the 1.2 engine upgrade we should see wheels work more like they used to.
  11. You couldn't "lose" a spacegoing-level industrial civilization's geologic footprint - most notably in connection with mining. A non-technological civilization? I'd entertain the idea, though biology/evolution as understood would require a very, very different sort of early life-form than any we have record of, so that's a big reach.
  12. Long skinny rigs are happiest on Eve, and hardest to land in one piece. Eve is a harsh mistress.
  13. I never said it was recommended, Snark As a rule of thumb, on a balanced rocket with TWR 1.5 or so, I gently tilt 10 degrees east at @75 m/s, 20 at @150 ms, then smoothly to hit 45 degrees at 15K altitude, then flat to the horizon at 40km. Every launcher is different, though. Your Mileage May Vary
  14. Well, back in the day before proper aero, that was how it was usually done. You're going to discover you have a lot more dV than you thought you did.
  15. I'm thinking it's scatterer, but in any case I can't Google or search up a reference to this - when warping out of orbit in the map screen, on returning to ship view, as often as not I'm dragging Kerbin's atmosphere along with me like a giant fuzzy fishbowl. f5/f9 will remedy, or re-entering LKO will "snap" it back onto the planet. Anyone else seeing this? Any quick fixes other than removing Scatterer?
  16. Confirmed - managed to have the same bug arise last night. Had quicksaved and a load did fix the issue. Ship had performed a rendezvous so was likely quite cool. Switched to the derelict, EVAed the pilot over, got stuck on the ladder.
  17. There's always the Claw in stock. It has saved many a mission.
  18. Cheers, Ted. I hope whatever awaits is even better!
