  1. Just double the ablator to get it working in a hurry. I do the same for K365.
  2. You need to use the last 1.0.5 version of SSTU, check Mage's github page. The current one is only for 1.1.2.
  3. WinRAR only gives errors and when I look inside there is only another 7z file inside, and that is empty. So no, winrar does not handle 7z.
  4. You can still make reasonably looking rockets, just not the same proportions as the real ones. Using LH2 instead of LFO also increases tank sizes, so ships look pretty realistic. It's not THAT bad. You could ofcourse add 30 tons of ore to the payload so you need more fuel/thrust, haha.
  5. Could the archives please be made into something generic like rar or zip? I'm not installing 7zip just for this file.
  6. Work fine in stock. But if you make life-like scaled rockets they are overkill. A Saturn V can take you to basically any planet. You could run Kerbin 365, which is a Kepernicus mod that scales up the planets (4.2x) and distances (6.4x) so that real-scaled rockets actually do what they originally did. You need about 2.5x the dV for every burn. I quite like this scale and still works with stock part settings with exception to ablators (make a 2x patch and you are done), so no need for endless .cfg tuning or RO hassles.
  7. There is already a mod with just these legs (3 sizes), you can add them yourself.
  8. Looks great, Mage! What's the stability of 1.1.x and SSTU like at the moment? Worth switching yet?
  9. Seeing a 1.1.2 is out, you may want to work with that version, there have been some big changes.
  10. I often have long engines where the stock legs are not long enough, so I am looking for a mod pack that has some really nice landing legs (size L/XL). I've tried the SpaceX legs, but they do not fold down far enough and when they do the legs are too long for my use, sticking out in front of the craft when retracted. Are there any mods out there with nice choices for landing legs?
  11. Same on 1.0.5, the SSTU faring bases turn into PF compatible bases (they actually no longer work as SSTU fairings at all). My new K365 rocket, a Duna Tourist ship with an atomic engine (Nertea) and droptanks, holding a 11-man capsule from LeBeau's Rocket Factory (the SSTU LAS fits like a glove). It uses 7x RS68 first stage and 3x RS25 second stage: boosters are for noobs
  12. This is the reason I still use Procedural Fairings, plus some fairing pedals from Chaka Monkey with different shapes to the two standard ones. I'm always fighting with the stocks/SSTU fairings, plus they do not secure the payload like ProcFairings.
  13. Those kind of things is why I like the Jupiter III It's first stage is basically just and engine group with two STS tanks on the side, this makes for a VERY short first stage.
  14. @GoldForest That looks cool. I'm making something similar for Kerbin365 rescale to get enough dV for a Mun mission. Moar boosters!!! Saturn V got it all wrong; asparagus is where it's at!
