  1. Well keyboard keys aren't usually pressure sensitive. So this is kind of a pointless feature if your computer can't recognize increased key pressure.
  2. How does the expanding negatively affect the engine's performance? Does it cause drag?
  3. Ya that's kind of been known for, like, forever with static engines. If your flying, the effect of increasing prop pitch depends on how fast your going. Ideally, at low speeds you want lower pitch, and high speed you want highest pitch to maintain RPM. I.E. Low speed = low enough pitch to allow high RPM, but at the same time high enough not to overspeed the engine High speed = High enough pitch to allow high RPM, but at the same time low enough to not stall your prop.
  4. I'm not quite sure I understand the downsides of having a expanding prop and how do you "engineer" a new prop? Like, what kind of engineering goes into it? I usually just operate on trial and error to get somewhere rather than math and science so your method isn't quite clicking with me.
  5. I got my game to work by restarting my computer 11 times. I was testing my engine and the prop came off and all the blowers exploded. But the shaft maintained 50 rad/s by it's own accord and was extremely stable while doing so. I have no idea if I can reproduce this effect but I wonder if it can be exploited.
  6. Ya that's cool. I am still unable to test anything though. There is definitely something wrong with my computer. I just did another fresh install with 0 mods and I get 5 FPS with the Aeris 3A which is only a 18 parts plane with 1 engine. FUUUUUUU my life.
  7. @Pds314I am beyond impressed. Please! Teach us your ways! I have hardly broken the 45 rad/s mark!
  8. Theres still no specs. Just put a screenshot with top speed and flight time. It's easy.
  9. I meant a normal plane. I was flying this one - https://kerbalx.com/Gman_builder/Aurora It is only 200 parts and wasn't hard on my computer previously. By essential I mean, VOID, pilot assistant, TAC fuel balancer, FAR, EER, Mouse aim flight, Waypoint manager, Thermal monitor, Fuel jettison, and Trajectories. None of those mods exceed 1 megabyte. I think heat in my laptop affects game performance, similar to a car, so I might let my computer rest for a while and come back. I'll see if it's fixed then.
  10. The weirdest thing just happened. I did a fresh install so I could test turboshafts faster and I get lower FPS. I had RSS and All the NEAR mods and I got around 45 FPS with this particular plane I was flying. Now I have no mods except the essential plugins and i'm getting 15 FPS with the same plane Dafuq is dis
  11. Ok, but how did you port running data from the prop over into Excel? I am a pretty tech-savvy person but half the stuff you say goes way over my head and the other half goes WAY way over.
  12. Honestly I have no clue what all these fancy numbers about torque and mega newtons and what not mean but you seem to be getting somewhere...so keep up the good work.
  13. d a m n dude lookin good! You should upload it! I kinda want to experiment with different prop designs.
  14. I mean. Previously almost all engines that can actually make anything happen have been the traditional design. I.E. Frame, two rows of wheels surrounding a central shaft, lots of blowers, thrust bearing, prop. Yours are, frame, blowers, strange multi-rowed atmosphere experiment thing around a 2 part axle made of avionics nosecones and a prop. They both share similarities in design but the implementation is staggeringly different.
  15. Come on man. This guy has made just as much of a contribution toward stock propeller craft as you have. In fact his designs share so little resemblance to yours that I wouldn't even call them turboshafts. They deserve a class of their own.
  16. Well ya I thought it was kind of obvious I had those too. They come with the download. I already had the newest version of MFI anyway.
  17. Well its still amazing. I wish my computer wasn't as bad as it is. Part of what restricts me from really working on these engines is the framerate. I can hardly deal with 25 FPS and working with craft over 400 parts drops FPS even more.
  18. I don't understand. I put RealSolarSystem into my Gamedata I put RSS-Textures into my gamedata I launch the game And nothing has changed Please help!
  19. I mean everything you've done. previously the best performing wheelless engines could barely lift the lightest airframe possible.
  20. You just innovated more in the past few days than the entire community has in years.
  21. Ya Azimech's black project engines. Developed in Area Az by classified team of Squad devs and veteran players.
