Actually I have another idea. Its already in the game. There are some parts that can have different model variants. Apply that to tanks. Just choose the 1 tank and switch width, length and colour. Tweakscale does absolute size like you said and that can be unpractical. Procedural parts stretches the model and that looks bad and can limit the external features. It would also get rid of the stupid way KSP deals with tanks. I hate the tank stacking so much. Its unreal and unpractical especially if you have LH2 mods.
-
I disagree with this so much. I use tweak scale with great caution. It can be abused. You cannot simply scale rocket engines up and down in real life. Actually you cannot simply scale anything in real life. It cannot be more realistic and have tweakscale like the mod works. Maybe structural parts only. Procedural parts would be a better idea. Tanks, structural etc.... Would reduce parts by alot. The mod as we have it now is not as detailed as other tanks so I only use it when desperate too.

It would never be cheaper because the demand is not there and will never be. You would need to have the infrastructure to produce fuel and rockets on Mars. Even if they are earth built rockets you will need someone to service them. If you had a colony you would most likely have the propulsion to go from Mars to earth on the same vessel on a regular basis. Producing fuel on Mars is a very unrealistic idea because a self sustained colony is just no benefit to anyone here on earth. We are selfish. Earth has everything mankind needs so it's better to take care of her. If your goal is to mine asteroids you need to bring the resources back to earth and leave anyway. Imo also pointless.

Moons of neptune and uranus. Mars is boring anyway. Would personally prefer 2 outer solar Orbiters instead of any furture mars missions. I want missions that give us more questions than awnsers. Every single moon in the outer solar system has such a unique story. Miranda and Triton are also 2 of my favourite objects.

Can I ask why specifically dres? Is it just an example or does dres bother you? I know its a strange question but for some reason I am curious. -

https://outer-planets.fandom.com/wiki/Planet_Packs Some of them are really old and I have no idea if they would work.... -
I am not saying its true. I'm saying that you can find a study that supports anything you claim about environmental effects. We actually do not even know the effects. That doesn't mean they do not exist!
-
Its very smart to believe the studies from the people that are creating the taxes. There are studies that prove diesel engines are reducing smog in cities because of the filters they have. As long as China and Germany go for renewable they will be forced to burn coal. Using the EU is a bad example anyway. The price of living is insane and unrealistic for the rest of the world. Its like using CA as an example in the states. They have way more sun and a far warmer climate than most other states. Even if they could make solar work does not mean it will work for new York. The targets are not being meet by nations that can afford it so its good to assume they are impossible to meet with nations that cannot. This is the main argument of nuclear imo. This alone should be enough to convince people.
-
5 years from now we will be using more fossil fuel and not less. BTW cars are not even a problem. They are something like 5% of the global pollution? Ok instead of the world ending in 100 years it will be in 105.....
-
The only reason electric cars are cheap is because fossil fuels are cheap. Once everything but solar and wind is gone people will be paying the same or more. CA are thinking long term probably. They want to be the new Saudi Arabia with batteries instead of oil. Elon musk illuminati confirmed!
-
That saying only applies when perfect doesn't exist. Nuclear exists. That being said neither are perfect but one is better.
-
Just because people are stupid does not mean solar is better. Its politics and not a matter of science. There is no comparison between nuclear and solar. If you are willing to give solar a few generations why not nuclear? By then we might have fusion and then its gg.

If someone buys a tesla because they do 0-60 3 secs I understand. A friend of mine got one because they are cool. They are even reliable from what I hear so why not. I just do not like the delusional people that think it makes a difference. Not that I am dismissing anything but that currently we are not doing anything other than pretending to care.
-
I'll buy a tesla on the day I can charge it with 100% clean nuclear energy. Until then I do not get the point.

Games stops responding when I recover vessel to VAB. Btw what is the point in recovering to VAB? Has that anything to do with scrapparts because I do not use that. Its not a dependency so I did not install. Standard recovery works. Seems a bit odd. Anyway if you need logs or anything to help out I can provide otherwise standard recovery is fine for me.

Just because a freak like bradley whistance can do it does not mean the game should be designed around people that are as smart or good has him. There are players that barley make it to orbit. Balancing is not an issue with career. Its just boring. If balance was an issue contract configurator would not make a boring career so fun. Unless the game is designed to be hardcore with hardcore players in mind its impossible to design it with hardcore and casuals in mind. Why do people always bring up the point that they are not developers? By definition they are developers. They developed a game that BTW is considered to be one of the best games ever made. Its original at the very minimum. You can be a great programmer and have no idea about designing a good game. You can have no idea about programming and have an idea on how good game should work. Being a programmer helps but even a person like myself that has no idea about programming knows what mechanics are good and what ones are not good. Thats like saying you cannot judge if food is good or not because you are not a trained cook. You also cannot be critical that a 5 year old game is on minimum maintenance. Most games are dead within 1 year of release. Its also not on minimum maintenance. You could argue that their priorities are going in the wrong direction but that has nothing to do with them being "real" developers or not. Ksp is definitely not underdeveloped. Its a fully developed game that has some good and bad things like every game there is.

Deleted craft files keep reappearing
dave1904 replied to hfijgo's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Just go into options and uncheck the the include stock vessels. To access options press escape, difficulty options at the very top and basic -
Do you really think a game developer backed by take two is running out of money? Stop worrying about things that you have no power over. If the game is trash its trash. Learn to accept that.

Generation Ships vs Cryogenic Sleep Ships
dave1904 replied to TheBlueKerbal's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I mean the sex part and I think we can both agree that talent in not necessary for it. Bartenders however essential -
Those ridges or whatever you call them on the lower part of the atlas 400 series fairing would be a cool addition but seem impossible by the way fairing textures work in ksp. That is really all I personally can think of that is sticking out. Again its more likely a limitation of the game because I am 100% certain you did not forget the iconic fairings of the atlas 400 series. BTW. Anyone know the point of those ridges in real life?
